Mike hand picked all of the beer out, boxed them, added two beer glasses, a Fathers Day card, and delivered it for us! I know this was a huge exception. I'm blown away at the service, kindness, great taste in beer and going the extra mile with buying a greeting card. Tremendous gratitude to the staff and this place! All. Of. The. Beer…read more I've never been so happily overwhelmed in my life. I could spend hours in here just looking at all the options. From seriously obscure to Bud Light, they truly have it all. My wife and I ventured here in search of stuff to drink over the weekend and not only found more than what we wanted, but we could pick a couple chilled brews and drink them on site. They have a little hangout area with TVs. Not sure about their food rules, but if I can bring a pizza in here, grab a beer from their fridge and watch a game, I would come here...often. The staff was friendly, their have their own parking. The whole experience was fantastic. Obviously coming back. Probably this week.

More importantly, the prices were MUCH lower. For example, a bottle of Bogle essential red blend (yes, I drink blends) was $9.09 here, where at places 3 miles down the road it'll run $12-14. Another example, we tried a bottle from Josh cellars, which used to be a good value but has become overpriced and overhyped. Some fancy bourbon barrel aged one that other stores have for $22 - it ran 17.99 here. The icing on the cake was the clerk kindly assisted in bringing the box out to our car! Haven't had service like that since I lived in the south. There's a decent looking spirits and beer selection as well, although I didn't really make note of the prices in those departments tonight. Also of note, they do have chilled wines available (why wait?) and ice if you need it. Parking space is plenty and the store wasn't mobbed at 5 pm on a Saturday but a steady flow. It's on 206 south near the bordentown shoprite, so you'll have to navigate a famous jersey jug handle coming from the south. We will be back!

As you may know, New Jersey was the 3rd state to join the United States, so they have a perfect name in the very historical town of Burlington. A warm and inviting space, the indoor tasting room has bar seating and tables with games and a TV to watch the game. The outside has a few tables and you can people-watch with a great beer in hand. We enjoyed a delicious flight that included Pumpkin Pail, Burlington Island Wheat, Stinger hard seltzer, and Less Vulnerable Eric lager. They also have a non-alcoholic option. Truth be told, it took me a while to realize that this "liquor mart" was named as such. On a drive…read morearound Fieldsboro/Bordentown before we moved here, this place immediately caught my eye as a purveyor of intoxicating spirits. It just has that "look," from the branded signage on the front windows, to the painted-on sign up front that's missing a few letters, to the fast comings and goings of customers going in and out to grab their $9 handle of vodka in a plastic bottle, lotto ticket, a tall boy of icy cold Busch Light, or some IPA that costs $15 for a 6 pack. (Probably tobacco products as well since those too are a deadly, addictive vice. I fortunately never picked up that habit). The owners are friendly enough, perhaps "business-like" best describes it. Post-COVID measures in place include: - plexiglass between you and the cashier - hand sanitizer station up front - some displays were removed to open up the inside a bit - sign states no more than 5 customers inside at once - face coverings are required (and I didn't see anyone without one) -arrows guide you to avoid crowding the register and keep distance from fellow patrons I'm not sure if they do curbside pickup or not, I try to get in and out here. There is a chilled wine fridge with bubbly, white wine, and wine-like libations likely meant for those below legal drinking age. Prices aren't low, but they're less of a rip-off than another liquor store just down the street (which I occasionally frequent as well) and the service is faster. One star deducted because they once sold me a 4-pack of Guinness as pictured: EVERY can was damaged AND the cardboard was taped on the bottom. However, it was CLEAR packing tape, which I found very deceptive. The cardboard covers up the cans because there's an implicit trust there. Unfortunately, liquor mart violated that. Oh well, it was drinkable anyway in a glass. Big bonus points awarded for the featured NJ-made booze from beer to wine to liquor. Very nice to support our small businesses "in these times" (god I hate hearing that every day. Buying local at this mom and pop liquor stop can accomplish that two fold! Parking is abundant and liquor mart is conveniently across from the large ACME plaza if you need to visit a crappy grocery store for actual sustenance. Bottles that I only purchase at wine festivals are located here if I'm not taking the drive to the winery itself. You can also find some other hidden gems as well that you might not find at your local liquor stores. This location is definitely a hidden gem in itself.
