I called this morning and was provided some useful information by a lady over the phone and advised I'd be looking to test ride the bike. I also requested I left my number so they could contact me should anyone else purchase the bike in the meantime, as I'd be travelling for an hour to get there. Upon arriving, a garage with a number of bikes were on display, they had kept this one within easy reach where they powered the bike up, showed us the books they had and allowed us some time to check it over. This was to be my first bike as I've only recently passed my CBT, but I brought my dad along who is a long time rider to assist with my purchase. So far so good, the bike was sold in my mind, it looked in good condition and there was nothing obviously wrong with it. We asked if we could take it for a test ride and this was where the problems began. An older gentleman stepped up and joined the conversation with an instant agressive attitude. In 'polite' terms, he would have been advising that due to the weather being bad (it was raining), he did not recommend we took the bike out for a test ride because the chances were high that we could come off and his insurance would not cover it. He didn't say it like this though. Using a barrage of profanity he approached us immedietly on the defensive "No, you can't." "Buy the bike, then take it for a ride" "It's fine, otherwise I wouldn't have passed it's MOT this morning" with a mixture of various swear words I won't use here. He only appeared interested in getting his point across with as much foul language as he possibly can fit inbetween the real words. We advised that our intention was to place a deposit on the bike and collect it at the weekend, but only if the bike was suitable. We would even have been happy paying a deposit and test riding it on the weekend we came to pick it up, but by this stage, I'd heard enough for me to never want any dealings with this garage. They lost out on a guaranteed sale today, and any future ones. Unless you're happy purcahsing your bikes/parts/safety items from someone who can't string a sentance together without using profanity, and a clear disregard to professionalism, this place is not worth considering. I could only imagine what their aftercare service is like in the even of an issue with the purchae. Absolutely disgraceful customer service and disgusting manners. I'd strongly advise against visting this business.
Dit Motorcycle Repairs

I stopped off in Sunderland (I have a friend that lives there) and spent Saturday morning calling several motorcycle repair places. They all said "sorry, don't work today" or "sorry, fully booked" or "sorry, don't have the parts". DiT called me back about 20 seconds after I left a message and said to come in and take a look. Sorry, I didn't catch the owners name! Anyway, I went to the shop where he looked at the bike and diagnosed that it was (as suspected) the relay. Unsurprisingly, he didn't have a replacement relay for my bike lying around, but he made one up for me from other components. AWESOME. I was (and am) very grateful to him. Top bloke. Great mechanic.
