I rented a room and day membership for $51.00 What blew my mind is when I asked for a fresh towel, as mine was damp from the shower, I was informed it would a $1.00 more! I thought it was a joke as I've never had this happen before at any bathhouse. Sad but true, there policy is to charge an extra dollar for every towel exchanged. After spending 51.00 they want more! I found this very small minded. Additionally every tv was playing a 1980's vintage porno! One TV screen was frozen. Another in the sling room not working at all. With all the streaming options available today at least stream a current movie for the enjoyment of your patrons, not some throwback to the 1980.'s. Room was dirty and featured a tv with no remote so one could not adjust volume or channel. Sling room was pathetic. Owner obviously doesn't know how to hang a sling properly for the enjoyment of the guy in it. I did speak to the attendant about these concerns and unfortunately, he took it personally which I told him it was not intended to be. I just told him that for what they are charging and then providing it is definitely not worth it. Especially the fresh towel additional charge. The attendant was very polite and kind. I realized that it's not the attendant who makes the policy but the owner. Overall, I was very disappointed in this place. I feel bad for the people in Grand Rapids that this is the only outlet they have to meet others in a safe environment. Drive the three hours to Chicago or two hours to Detroit and visiting a real private men's club would be advisable. When compared to places like Steam Works, Club, Fort Lauderdale, and even Club Columbus, this place falls very short.

It was my second time seeing the movie and I will see it again. It's one of the most powerful films that I've ever seen The only downside tonight was that I booked my tickets ahead of time through Fandango. When I presented my tickets to the cashier he said that they don't accept tickets booked through Fandango. I had to spend another $30 on tickets for 3 people and Sperrys does not offer seniors a discount on the purchase of tickets. Very disappointing. I might visit Sperrys again but I'll never buy another ticket through Fandango. I'm going to get my money back because I paid for the tickets by using PayPal which is tied to my American Express card. Amex will cancel the transaction tomorrow when I call them

We didn't spring for the $50/ticket price tag, but did snag the last 3 seats for the 11am show. Seats are assigned at Sperry's so I highly recommend reserving seats ahead of time online so everyone can sit together and also to avoid a sold out show. We were a little late getting in and found our seats as the movie had just started. I thought I could order the kids lunch, but found out the kitchen doesn't open until 12 pm for feasting. I ordered popcorn to curb the kids appetite and they gave it to me for FREE and apologized for the inconvenience. Awesome customer service! Now they have a customer for life. At 12 o'clock I was having trouble getting the mobile ordering to work from the seat QR code, so I ran out to concessions and placed my order with our theatre number and seat number so they can deliver it right to us. The kids snacked on a burger and fries while I had the most delicious prosciutto and fig pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of chew and the balance of flavors was on point. The staff also gave my kids some of the extra flowery lays left over from brunch. Such a great time. Highly recommend Sperry's Moviehouse if you want a bougie movie night or matinee.

[Out of Towner Review]…read more If a bookstore felt like a HUG, this would be it! I loved visiting this special independent bookstore in Grand Rapids. I love when you walk in you are greeted with the 100 Banned Books to peruse through. I love a business that highlights banned books, as all booksellers should be doing this year. Although I felt like the selection was limited, I wasn't upset with this store. It just took me a little longer to find a book to purchase. I loved all the knickknacks (stickers, bags, etc) they had to shop from. The kind bookseller was helpful when I asked for help. She was completely open to offering suggestions, but I felt capable of finding something else. She was extremely kind and engaging with the few patrons that were in the store. Since I this was my first time here, I was taking it all in. The kid section was really cute and the layout is easy to shop. I enjoyed the staff picks and layouts of the different sections. They are on the smaller side, so I wouldn't expect to show up and find every single top book on the market. But there are PLENTY that I found enjoyable and enough to purchase two books! Small town charm, but make it books!
