Great family owned business. Had carpet installed in 2017 and am ready for another install, will be…read morecontacting them to schedule it. My measurements are on file so a phone call will make it easy to schedule and they know exactly what I will need for a room. They come in, tear out and install, simple and clean! I trust this business to be fair in price and get the job done as expected. Thanks for serving our community for so many years. Family owned means something with Shelley Carpet! Thank you, Chris Gruters

We purchased Mannington LVP on June 6th from Shelley Carpets to put in our office replacing 20 year…read moreold Laminate. We were probably at the store 5 times researching different brands of LVP and the installation process. The owner came to our house to measure the room and provided us a quote. We were concerned how the molding would look around the existing baseboard but the owner assured us and provided us a sample of 1/4 inch thick "shoe" molding that looked good and was not as fat and obvious as the thicker, rounded molding. I specifically talked to the installer (the owner's son) who assured me he could install the smaller molding correctly. He stated that DIY's would need the thicker molding as they were not as talented. My wife verified that the LVP plank designs would be mixed so no two of the 10 designs would be together. Installation day was yesterday June 10th (they moved it up from the original scheduled date). When they arrived, they did not have the molding so they sent an employee to get it. Upon completion of the job we found the following: 1. They put down a thin piece of clear plastic to cover the cement slab rather than the recommended waterproof, soundproof, thick piece of rubber we previously had. 2. Two of the same exact LVP planks were placed directly together (unfortunately these are in the middle of the room with highly visible large knots.) 3. We did not receive the thin 1/4 inch molding we were assured we would get. They actually installed 1/2 inch rounded molding that was broken in several places. When I brought photos of the installation problems to the store and showed both the owner and the salesman, they denied all knowledge of the molding discussion (even though it was four days ago). They shrugged their shoulders at the duplicate planks stating that the workers were on their knees. They had no comment on the broken molding. I actually drove to Lowe's and brought a piece of the molding (last photo) we extensively discussed and reviewed with them and they still denied all knowledge of the discussion. I believe this so-called "family run business" is running a bait and switch scheme giving customers inferior product after promising higher quality materials. Photos: 1. Required slab covering which they did not install 2. The thin 1/4 inch wide molding I was shown and told I would get 3. It is beyond me how someone could put these identical planks side by side 4,5,6 Even the WRONG molding was installed poorly Potential customers, this is the exact wording from the required Mannington Installation Guidelines: 2. The Vapor Barrier Rule (Crucial Warning) A common DIY mistake is laying standard plastic sheeting over the concrete. Do Not Use 6-Mil Poly Sheeting: Mannington explicitly does not recommend using a loose 6-mil polyethylene sheet (Visqueen) directly underneath their ADURA floating products. The Risk: Standard plastic sheeting traps humidity above specified limits, turning the slab into a breeding ground for mold, mildew, and foul odors that can migrate up your walls. Look closely at the molding, paint is not the issue, quality is! Apparently, this company requires you to SUPERVISE and PERFORM quality control AS they are doing the job! I actually only stuck my head in once for about 15 seconds (my mistake). At then end, I was actually impressed with the look and quality of the Mannington LVP. Unfortunately, I did not notice and research the poor installation job until a few hours later. This is definitely a BAIT and SWITCH SCAM which will be addressed!
