Nikki was incredibly helpful and welcoming, answering all of our questions quickly, and patiently guiding us through our first home purchase. We're pleased with the construction and thoughtful design of our home. Buying new allowed us to pick all our finishes, saving the uncertainty and cost of renovations. We've also been spared the many issues common to old homes, such as leaky roofs - our home is watertight! If there was one hiccup, it was that the design center was unclear on whether hardwood was permitted on the 2nd or 3rd floors. We ended up going with carpeting on both, and are happy with the result. We're big fans of Classic Communities. We have already recommended them to our friends, and will continue to do so. read more

This review is for Cecil, the general superintendent at Classics Communities Inc, who is so rude that he should not be allowed to interact with customers! We just returned from the opening weekend of Classics' new development in Sunnyvale. Cecil was manning the tent at the entrance to to the new community and was so rude to my husband and me. He told us we had to fill out a information card or we couldn't go in. We told him we just purchased a house at another Classics development and was just dropping by to look at the models. Instead of explaining nicely that everyone had to fill out the card or that he just needed a name, he said something like "I don't care, you need to fill out a card or you can't go in" Cecil - if you ever read this, you should stay in the back office and have ZERO customer interaction. We just paid a lot of money for a Classics' house and will not put up being treated like trespassers. Please let the professionals like Frances and Cindy handling the customers. You are probably used to treating Classics employees like crap and therefore should not be allowed to interact with the public. read more

Mr. Pollart was a representative from Classic Communities for a proposed development in my neighborhood. Although the company's fliers distributed to some residents promised that they cared about the neighborhood's opinion, they failed to really consider the neighborhood's concerns. They proposed 85 and 77 units to the neighborhood. They tried to imply that the dropping of units was from neighborhood feedback. Yet, the reality is that the reduction was to fix the lack of room for emergency vehicles i.e. the city's fire trucks. Someone could have died if it were not for the critical eye of some residents. Additionally, Mr. Pollart had submitted both of his plans to the City before the two community meetings. Therefore, his actions did not reflect a candid willingness to negotiate with the neighborhood. Rather the only changes made were because they had no choice. At the City Council meeting where the project was approved, Mr. Pollart explicitly stated rescinding his offer if any units were removed. Similarly, at the first community meeting, he threatened retracting his offer if he had to "remove even one house" from his 85 unit plan. Threats do not encourage cooperation and genuine neighborhood involvement. read more

This is a top-notch builder that creates beautiful homes. Even our realtor who has been specializing in the Palo Alto area for 3 decades (and also happens to have a construction background) said that the build quality was solid. It's truly a great local, family owned business. Not only that, the sales manager Nikki, whom we had the pleasure of working with, is absolutely fantastic. She genuinely cares about the buyers, and is so sweet and personable. She is also prompt and very professional, making it a breeze to get through what can be a harrowing process for buying a home. We had a very good experience purchasing our first home. We recognize the process with Classics is different from the traditional process (ours was first-come-first-serve) and really appreciated all the "hand holding" and keeping us on track to hit all our deadlines. Being able to review and sign the documents electronically was super helpful and convenient. It was extremely easy having Frances as our go-to contact to support and answer all our questions. She was able to keep us informed on the progress and we were even able to close a week early! After moving in, we really appreciate the 1-year warranty and the access to getting things repaired and fixed. Overall quality of Classics is really good but we have noticed that the finishing details and execution wasn't what we had expected. There were a lot of small details that were overlooked but we were luckily able to get them addressed under the 1-year warranty. This does create a slight inconvenience having to make sure someone is home in order for our problems to get resolved. read more

These guys are awful to deal with. The representatives are nice, but everything after that is a total nightmare. Every communication has to go through the representative, their "design center" is awful and unhelpful, and if you find a problem in your new home afterwards, you wont be able to get in touch with anyone, or be able to get anything fixed. I would recommend you find a home by another builder. read more
