I'm SO grateful to finally have a great Dentist! We've lived in the area for more than 30 years,…read moreand I'd previously tried many (more than a half dozen) of the supposed "best" area Dentists without finding anyone that consistently did good work or that I was happy with. Dr. Boltwood on the other hand is absolutely fantastic. She's gentle, compassionate, meticulous and detailed - something I very much appreciate as someone who's experienced exactly the opposite with so many other area dental offices. But aside from doing really solid work, I've found her to be a very down to earth, genuinely nice person who's easy to talk to and who takes a sincere interest in her patients. Even though I (like most people) never LIKE going to the Dentist, I'm a lot more comfortable going to Dr. Boltwood than I've ever been going anywhere else - because I know she'll do a consistently great job, take very good care of me while I'm there, and will frequently follow-up afterward to make sure I'm still doing OK. Others in the office including her assistant Dawn, office manager Kathy, hygienists Annie, Beth and Dee Dee are all great as well and it's just an all-around good group of people. My wife is also a patient and has had the same great experiences. In short, we can't recommend Dr. Boltwood and the rest of her team highly enough.

This practice is professionally managed, has excellent dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff. They listen, are attentive and my son is NOT afraid to go to the dentist, thank goodness. With that said, it DOES take 6 months to get your initial cleaning appointment, so they are not a last minute, broke my tooth on the weekend dentist unless you are an established patient. If you make an initial appointment, keep it. You won't get a cancellation or another appointment for 6 months. When you have a cleaning, schedule your next one before leaving the appointment or you won't get one until 6 months after you call to schedule your next appointment. They aren't open every day of the week, either. If you can handle all of this - schedule with them, they are worth it.

Original Review Reposted After Unfulfilled Refund Agreement and untruthful…read more I originally posted a review of this experience on March 18. I had agreed with the dentist to remove the review in exchange for a refund. Since I never received the promised refund, I am now reposting the review. Here it is: I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this dental office. I scheduled a tooth extraction after being told over the phone that my out-of-pocket cost would be $90 with insurance. Instead, I left with a $910 bill. The lack of financial transparency was extremely concerning. I was initially told that a bone graft would cost around $600, but during the procedure, that amount suddenly increased to $850--and I was required to pay immediately. What made the situation worse was the pressure I felt while still in the chair. The dentist pushed me to make an immediate decision between an implant or a bridge--both significant medical and financial choices that require time and proper explanation. I was also told that a bone graft was necessary right after the extraction, even though a bridge typically does not require one. When I questioned why these options and costs were not clearly explained beforehand, I was dismissively told, "We told you so," referring to information that had never been clearly communicated to me. At no point were the cost differences properly outlined. I also want to note that I never had any issues with the previous owner during my care, which makes this experience even more disappointing. At this point, I expect I may hear more explanations or even an apology, but that alone does not address the core issue of transparency and patient communication. Overall, I felt rushed, dismissed, and treated like just another number. Patients should never feel pressured into making major, permanent decisions on the spot. I would not recommend this office to anyone who values clear communication, transparency, and professional patient care.

I can't express enough how lucky I feel to have found this practice. 3 years ago my daughter had a tooth pulled with "zero pain". Last month I had my first cavity filled in 20 years. Wow, Dr Walby and his assistant whipped through that thing so quickly and seamlessly I wish I could have videoed it. Zero pain or discomfort. All done in about 20 minutes. I was waiting for there to be pain once my numbness wore off, but nope. In the past, I've had to go back to other dentists for them to correct the bite, but he did it perfectly right out of the gate. This was probably one of the best dental experiences, and I didn't pay a fortune ! First, I was a little nervous, when I arrived, due to the fact the waiting room and office area were a little outdated. The hygienist was very thorough and kept making sure that I was comfortable during that lovely probing. My dental exam from this dentist was great. She examined all the X-rays with me and gave me some suggestions, so that a very minor tooth issue would not get worse. The best... After the work was completed, I was billed $650 -- only to find out the pre-authorization for coverage had actually been denied months earlier. Northstar submitted it, never told me about the denial, and then resubmitted the same paperwork multiple times after the work was done. Each time, it was denied again. When I called to question it, the office refused to take responsibility, saying they "can't manage every dual-insurance situation." Their only solution was to offer to transfer my records elsewhere.
