I have always only bought children's shoes at Clarks but my shopping experience as always been first-class: friendly, dedicated staff, very helpful. No problem ordering items in. Very patient even with the youngest of children. read more

Buyer Beware!! Aftersales service non-existent. Owner quite rude…read more Bought a pair of defective Heavenly Feet boots which fell apart after short time - owner refused to have anything to do with the matter and said "what did I expect, I'd had them 6 months"! She also told me that if I was "one of those people that had the time on my hands to follow the matter up with the manufacturer, then that was my choice!" Heavenly Feet customer services, however, had a very different view and replaced the boots immediately. They were also very concerned about the attitude of the owner of this shop. Never again will I visit Conwy Strollers.
Matalan is an out of town discount retailer providing great value fashion items and homewares…read more They have a Membership Card scheme which is free to join but just gives you some extra benefits, like money saving offers and regular updates by mail. The fashion in Matalan is up-to-date and offers a good selection of own brand items along with well known brands like Pringle, Wrangler, Calvin Klein, Falmer and Playtex. They have clothes for all ages, men, women and Children. Whilst the clothes are cheap they dont comprimise on Quality. I have just bought a great value Christmas Party Outfit - Dress £20, Bag £2.50, Shoes £12 Its unbeatable value. The Homeware range is excellent value for money and they always have the latest styles and products on offer. It's a great place to buy Christmas Gifts and Decorations, I always manage to find beautiful and unique Christmas Decorations and Cards. Whilst the location is out of town and not easy to get to it s well worth the extra mileage to get the bargains. Parking is great too, always plenty of spaces nearby. Another bonus is that Matalan now accepts Love to shop Vouchers which I always save up from Cash Back Sites and work related promotions so my the end of the year I have a nice stash of vouchers so spend on all sorts of goodies from my local Matalan store.
Can't really fault the place. If you want to look like Russell Brand in frilly shirts, waistcoats, pink tshirts etc you're better off at topman, but for a pair of standard blue jeans, maybe a shirt for work, or a casual tshirt that's not covered in flower print, Matalan's the place to go. Well, Matalan or Next, Next dearer with no tangible difference in quality (I shop at both) Matalan also stock have plenty of fashionable womenswear, and even stuff for my gran too. Plenty of kids clothes, though I find that baby clothes tend to vary in quality quite a bit. Believe it or not the better baby clothes tend to be from tesco and asda. There's a homeware section that seems reasonably priced, they have very nice quilt covers at less than hal;f the price of Debenhams etc. There's also a kids toys and books section that seems to just sell rubbish to be honest. They could maybe get rid of this and maybe have a bit more shoes or something. There's never a problem parking thanks to the huge car park, more than can be said for Debenhams, Topman or Burtons. Worth a look, don't be snobbish about the place, if you're heading to Next pop into Matalan first for a browse, it might surprise you.

I don't think there was any type of shoe I did not see at this wonderful shoe store! From the outside, this shop actually looks like a discount shoe store but when you enter, you'll begin to understand why it's called Famous Footwear - that's for a very good reason. Amongst their shelves, they stock some classic brand names like Hush Puppies and Ravel; these are typically those you can trust for quality and durability. Prices do vary from the cheap to the high-end so expect a balanced selection of shoes to suit all ages and styles. You have two floors of decent footwear, so no excuses!

We take them to Clarks which is just opposite to get their feet measured then head straight to Shoe Zone to buy some shoes (sorry Clarks!). The quality isn't great but kids shoes either get wrecked or grown out of in no time so it isn't worth spending lots of money on them. As such Shoe Zone is an ideal money saving option.

Although this one is probably the biggest and branches into kids shoes as well as adults. There is a lovely range of gladiator sandals ready for the summer on the right hand side of the shop (as you look at it) that made me go 'oooh' for a second before I realised I've not booked a holiday this year and England is too cold for sandals. Also on this side of the shop are the shoes that make you wonder 'do real people buy these or just the strippers?' There are a few stand-alone units that tend to have all the sale shoes on - if you're lucky you can get a fashionable bargain here. And then there's the kids' shoes on the other side, which freaks me out a bit when you hear the thick scouse accent exclaim "eh girl look at these - they'd be boss on the baby!". My opinion on how to dress kids is like this: until they are old enough to think for themselves they should be dressed like children. Not like Britney Spears. Shoes for children should be bought from Clark's and nowhere else. However, I think I'm pretty much alone in that. So: get your shoes from here if you want them cheap but fashionable and fairly sturdy, unless you're buying from the kids' section, in which case prepare for my disdainful looks!!
