The ladies selection is good and the seasonal sales offer good value. The accessories are limited though. The mens section is very good and this is one of the few places where men are treated to a good range. The children's section is at the rear of the store and offers a full fitting service with hand measures for the tiddlers and funky electric machines for those with larger feet! The fitting service is very good and, in general staff seem to know their stock and how shoes are likely to fit. There is, however, one member of staff who seems to think that if the number on the box matches the number on the measure then the shoe must fit! A ticket queuing system operates at busier times which is excellent and allows you to browse without worrying aboyt missing yoru turn. A small wooden cube toy is available for toddlers and it can often be a task to get the kids to leave! It's an excellent way of seeing whether they can walk in the shoes though as you start them at one side of the shop and they miraculously walk to the cube!

She found the ones she wanted and picked them up to have a closer look. When showing me a shop assistant walked up to us and took them out of her hands putting them back on the shelf saying they were restocking the shelves. I pointed out that we were looking at the Shoes wanting to buy them. To this she replied "you can't touch the shoes. If you want some you must point at them and tell us what size you want and we will get them for you" Then she walked off. I asked for the manager who was just as rude and had no interest whatsoever in selling us the shoes or apologising... To my reply that we won't be buying shoes there again she smiled and said "OK". Needless to say we will NOT go back to Clarks again.

The selection at this store is quite vast, but can feel sometimes like a random selection of items with very little order to structure to the place. The layout is quite crowded for a store of this size, with clothes often dumped in heaps on the floor or thrown onto the display shelves in disorder. The quality of the clothes is also quite poor - I accidentally bought a top in Primark that had somehow managed to be sewn with the straps entangled, and was virtually unwearable. The staff seem friendly and the service is good, but the queues are often quite long and the temperature in the store is often uncomfortably hot for no explicable reason. Of course, the prices of items are, as would be expected, low.

The main problems in this store are that in the summer it is like stepping into a sauna, as there is no air conditioning, and believe me, it gets HOT! The other bug bear is if you go on a Saturday, expect to have to queue for quite a while. Apart from that, not a bad shop for bargains!

They advertise that they offer a full fitting service but, as I found out, it's not necessarily all it's cracked up to be. The kids department is upstairs and the stairs are hard and unguarded. Be warned! Service is always efficient and polite.
