Recently I have gotten a home warranty and have had to use others, NOT HYSSONG During one of the repairs the home warranty company came out looked at the fridge, did no diagnostic and said that the computer board was bad. Came back 2 weeks later, replaced the board and left. Didn't test is or make sure working. I contacted them again and stated that the board did not work. They told me that the fridge needed replaced. Being a custom built in fridge this was not an option for us. I immediately contacted HYSSONG APPLIANCE CENTER. They came out the very next day. Diagnosed that the temperature gauge was bad. This was a $50 part that the home warranty refused to cover and was misdiagnosed. Hyssong came out 2 days later, put the part in and it worked AMAZING. IN THE END THIS IS AN AMAZING COMPANY TO WORK WITH. MICHELE M.

A year ago Mid MD Appliance Repair fixed our oven's computer panel. They also replaced the oven…read moredoor's hinges. The door had a small crack which had overheated the panel (a known issue with Whirlpool ranges). In less than a year, the new hinges were broken again, this time leaving a much larger 1" gap. I called them thinking the hinges must be defective. The previous hinges had lasted over 11 years with only minor damage. Though it was past warranty I thought they would stand behind their work, at least offer a discount or perform some simple fix if possible. They asked if I had ever put any heavy weight on the door, like resting a pot on it, which I never had. To demonstrate the only abuse the door might receive, I opened the door and let go when it was half open. The door fell open with a clang. This seemed the excuse they were looking for and I was accused of improperly opening the door, implying you have to gently hold the door with two hands until it is fully open. They charged me $100 for the visit, gave me an estimate to replace the hinges, and left. This didn't sit right with me. I hadn't done anything differently than I have in the last 60 years of opening oven doors. Why did these new hinges last less than a year? Before I wrote this review I called them to discuss my concerns. They then yelled at me, repeating that they had seen what happened and that it was my negligence that made the hinges break. Finally, they said they didn't need to listen to me and hung up. Later, doing my own research, I found out that oven doors come with springs that prevent them from clanging open. If you open them halfway and let go, the door stays half open or gently falls open under its own weight. Possibly the spring was installed improperly when the hinges were replaced, or it had broken since the repair. If they had bothered to listen to me or ask a few questions, maybe they could have figured out what I did on my own. Instead they treated me with rudeness and ignored my concerns.

We live in an historic home in downtown Frederick and have several neighbors who have used this company. If I could select 10 stars I would be as happy as I was with Peekskill Electric's work! I am amazed there are only a couple Yelp reviews for this business. I even asked about why there were not more Yelp reviews at our first interview & Kenny the owner said he gets most work from Another's List though he's booked many jobs over the last few years from Yelp referrals so it must be a good start for people searching for help. I wanted to add another post to Yelp because this is where I found the business. So, here goes. I interviewed 5 companies for our job. This is why Peekskill got the work: 1. They arrive on time, every time. This is a HUGELY UNIQUE experience for us! 2. They call you back. Not just same day but for me it was the same hour! 3. They are as interested in each new project as the homeowner. 4. Kenny has many years of experience as an independent electrician and he does the work himself with really nice young people apprenticing. I like knowing the person I talk to is the person I'll work with on the project. 5. For me, his experience and recognition of what it takes to work on an old building clinched the deal. Now the work is done, I can't say enough positive things about the experience, but here are a few impressions: 6. Prices were competitive with other contractors. Response time BY FAR exceeded others. I had a contract the day after our evening interview (but I am still waiting to here from one of the other 5 companies!!) 7. Kenny is a genuine, nice, professional person. He has really good communication skills and is easy to work with. That's a plus for weekend warriors and DIY projects. He is a happy person who genuinely likes working with people and helping them see their project come to life. 8. I got the impression the city inspectors really like his work. You won't be stuck trying to coordinate repeat work or re-inspection visits. We have a new favorite electrician: Peekskill Electric!!
