Generali Global Assistance on Clark's recommended site is a front for taking your money! When Clark recommended insuremytrip.com for travel insurance I took it as a blessing. Guess what I have used several companies on the website but never had a claim. Guess what! - Once you have a claim it is a waste of money and my time calling in every other day to hear the agent is "AT HOME!". They tell me this is because I am on the east coast and they are on the west coast but even calling at 1PM yields "AT HOME"! I am referring to a top rated firm on the site known as Generali Global Assistance company. They are phenomenal at collecting money and stalling any party requesting insurance money. If you are interested at all call Sarah Weiser at 800-541-3522 extension 2160 and see that she is at HOME. I was able to speak to her once and guess what I felt as thought the situation was under control back in OCTOBER! It's NOVEMBER. I have left messages for the supervisor Michelle Harris 800-541-3522 extension 2129 but guess what no response to date. I enjoy listening to Clark Howard but since the time was shifted to nights a few years ago I seemed to have lost him and hardly hear him much now. He does often offer great advice. I would listen to him daily for years at the old hour. I enjoy most of the calls coming in. I recently found him again while scanning the dial to get away from something else and I tuned in to listen. Low and behold right then and there I yet again get to hear my #1 pet peeve about him. OH NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!!! If you listen to him I'm SURE you have heard these calls too LOADS OF TIMES, OVER AND OVER. He seems to relish these calls more than any other. It goes like this: Hello Clark.....My little Igor is going to Europe this summer and he doesnt know how to call home.....and/or He doesnt know how to handle his money. AAAARRRRGHHHHHHH!!!!!! Not Again for the 5000th time!!!!!!!...My blood pressure rises. Yeah sometimes its the stupidest things and stupid people that really get your goat. First off, these people need some family planning advice! They are pushing down the worlds IQ. They would be better off spending that money on an education rather than highlighting more American Ignorance to the Europeans who see enough of it as it is. Second...why do they always seem to get through where others with something more useful often dont? These calls seem to be screened before they get on the air and these folks fly right to the front! They should be directed over to, or hand walked on the phone before getting on the air to the website where they can go through Travel 101 basics and spare the general population at large another rerun yet again on Skype, Magic jack, how to buy a SIM card and use an ATM. GEEZ!!! The show would be much more interesting to the general public if you could get rid of these calls or accept only a few a year at best, however it seems to be the #1 type of call. Fortunately many peoples kids can handle making a phone call and money basics and for that we should be truly thankful or this would be even worse. They especially bother me knowing good people with real problems cant get through! I myself had an important issue and I tried and tried to get through with no avail. I had a long term care policy that I had paid into for years decide to just go out of the business! The company wasnt by any means going away, they were just dumping all their policies and getting out of that line of business. They sent me a letter to check a box on which option I wanted. This to me was serious stuff. Well maybe Igors Mother thinks her call is critical too but she can be directed elsewhere to easily get what she needs. I googled my issue and no help there! The folks who volunteer, god bless them are very nice but really they have no clue on something like this. Yet they should be able to help the annoying type above and keep them from the phone lines but no, they pass them up top the top while the other important stuff cant get through! I tried many a time to get through as I had a deadline on my issue but never once could get through. So I FINALLY just made a choice of one of their options and let it be. I called Clark's action team today about a problem with a chiropractor. The person that answered my question was completely rude and unprofessional and acted like I was the problem. They started talking over me almost immediately and basically gave me no helpful information. They showed no empathy or sympathy for my situation. Called in to ask for tech. support for finding GREAT travel deals that were emailed to me less than 2 hours ago , but it was so ...useless . The elder volunteer female who answered the phone was......like Clark always said " customer NO SERVICE " Talked over me...talked non stop and didn't really listen to my explanation. She finally said ,, " let me ask my supervisor " Long story short .... just spend a few more dollars and forget about the "GREAT DEAL" as boasted. I contacted his show about a scam here in Austin. One of his people called me today and was the most unprofessional, rude person, I have ever talked to. He told me he was a techy and I should just pay the guy, and wouldn't let me get a word in. I was trying to tell him, that I just wanted people to know it was a scam, but he wouldn't let me get a word in. It sounded like he was working from home, I could hear dogs, or kids or something.
