Sure, I've heard some repeated classical music tracks, but I do enjoy the interviews of fascinating personalities and news coverage on our nation's politics, economy, and culture. My only gripe? WABE could create and market more locally-focused content. I've also experienced WABE in a unique way. The Minnesota affiliate (MPR aka Minnesota Public Radio) wanted to interview me, so in order to conduct the interview I had to use one of WABE's sound booths. I had a pleasant experience working with the audio engineer, and I'll never forget the experience. Also, I also admired the padding in the room since it looked like something out of Space Odyssey. Did I have inklings to throw myself against the walls like a madman in straightjacket? Yes. I love WABE. Now, where can I buy a t-shirt?

Despite the fact that I am giving Q100 4 stars, I completely agree with Mark W. that this station…read moreis repetitive, overprogrammed, and annoying. I especially dislike the canned "top 40" shows that are played on the weekends and evenings. However, I'm giving 4 stars based on a comparison of Q100 with OTHER Top 40 stations I've heard. I'm really not a fan of that sort of thing, so the fact that I am willing to listen to this station at all, ever, means that they are doing something right. I have to grudgingly admit that one of the things they do right is the Bert Show. I grew up in Atlanta, and I learned to hate morning shows after years of tolerating Steve & Vikki, the Regular Guys, and even the Morning X (sorry to all of you Morning X fans... I know there were a lot of you). When the Bert Show first came on, I hated it too. About a year ago, I started listening to the Bert Show every now and again because I decided to get rid of my XM radio subscription. Although I prefer music in the morning to endless talking, the "talk" on the Bert Show is not half bad. The members of the show seem to have good chemistry with each other. I mean, for all I know they hate each other off-mic, but on the air they act like comfortable old friends and I'd rather hear that in the morning than screaming, goofy morning show prank calls (which they keep to a minimum, or redneck humor. Also, the members of the show seem to have a sincere desire to help others in the community. This doesn't mean that I always prefer Q100 in the morning as opposed to one of the few stations in Atlanta that actually plays music. But compared with other Atlanta morning shows, Q100 has the best one, hands-down. And I think that overall, boringly overprogrammed or not, this station is probably about as intelligently programmed as a Top 40 station is going to be.

I watch and listen to her on "In Touch" with Dr. Charles Stanley each week on Sunday Morning. Sandra Onal has a beautiful voice who shares the word of God and her compassion of Christ. She was the body of Christ at Dr. Charles Stanley's First Baptist Church Atlanta. On one of the episodes of "Babbie's House" was good when she aired with dear beloved friend Babbie Mason. And last but not least, she joined "The Christian View" with Dr. Trudy Simmons along with other women. Dr. Erol and Sandra Onal host the tonight's "Atlanta Live" show at 7:00 P.M. and it was good. They bring out guests who shares their secret compassion, reflections of life, love of God's grace, glory, honor and mercy, be inspired by wonderful music and stories. Dr. Erol and Sandra Onal host the show on Thursday night. At least once but not as often. That's a great show. Sandra hosts the "Atlanta Live" show with her husband Erol once. But sadly, Sandra is no longer a church ministry at Dr. Charles Stanley's First Baptist Church Atlanta and no longer a co-host and TV host producer of "The Christian View" with Dr. Trudy Simmons along with other women. She stopped going to church on Sunday morning to give God the honor, praise, glory and thanksgiving. The good news is, Sandra goes to the WATC station, walks into the studio, attends some great new upcoming live taping segment programs of "Friends & Neighbors" with her friend Sherry Tatum, sings, brings out many, many, many, many different guests who gives out information, shares the love of God's grace, glory, mercy, the laughters, the warmths, the stories and the manual events for a half hour. "Friends & Neighbors" is a great show when it airs. Sherry Tatum and Sandra Onal both have been christianity TV host producers and co-hosts of the women's ministry series "Friends & Neighbors". Did Steve Harvey Predict Occupy Wall Street?…read more In 2005, I had the pleasure of ending a 3-year contract with the King of Comedy, Steve Harvey. It was a pleasure to serve a man that was more profound than the persona he portrayed. My daily routine two weeks each month began at 2:30 a.m. with a drive to my small café in Bedford, Texas, to gather the linens, china, glassware, portable cooking devices and any other special requests by Mr. Harvey to complete his daily breakfast and lunch meals. In the first six months of my employment with Steve Harvey, I would listen to his morning inspirations speeches as I prepared everything from egg white omelets and T-Bone steaks, to hearty oatmeal, fish and grits. He never could remember my name and I never looked at him as a celebrity. To me, he was just Steve, the man that loved his wife, cherished his children and longed for his mother. One morning, Steve started his show by giving advice on finance. I listened carefully because of my constant need to make ends meet as a small business owner. He told his audience that if they wanted a long-term relationship with a bank to find a small branch in the middle of nowhere or a small credit union, because they treat you better. He said they have personalized service and sometimes you would probably see the bank president. He told a story of how he put his money in a small suburban bank outside Dallas Texas. I never forgot his advice. It's now 2011, and people are occupying Wall Street, banks are corrupt, the economy is going down the tubes and Americans are frustrated. In 2007, when Steve left Texas in pursuit of bigger and better things, I began federal contracting. To my surprise, after only 90 days in the process, I received my first government contract. To no avail, I went from bank to bank looking to secure funding. Although I passed the initial interviews and analysis, and had a government contract in hand, my request was still denied. Reluctantly, I headed to Washington, DC. to satisfy the terms of my contract and remain in good standing with the federal government. To survive, I borrowed money from friends and family and sold items on eBay. I refused to allow the poor lending practices of big banks to deter my entrepreneurial dreams. Recently I decided to leave Chase, Capital One and Citi because they acted poorly in overseeing my financial future. I thought an average balance of $25K and a half-million in sales would at least warrant me a dedicated banking officer. I was wrong. Today, I bank with Cornerstone Credit Union in Lancaster Texas. They were ecstatic that a defense contractor was moving to their bank. My decision to move to a smaller bank was based solely upon the advice that Steve Harvey gave his listeners years ago--patron small banks because the big banks are not willing to work with businesses who make 70 percent of the jobs in the US. Thank you Steve Harvey for showing me how to grow my business. It's comforting to know that despite your wealth, you support small businesses! Until next time Chow-baby! I can't believe no one in Yelp-land has reviewed this yet!!!…read more OK, maybe that's because their transmitter is still only 50,000 watts and doesn't reach OTP, or maybe it's because of all the competition at the cool end of the dial, but this station warrants a listen. This is true community radio... commercial-free, sometimes format free. Often, it sounds like the DJs are people enticed off the street with free beer, but that's what makes it so fun. Since the station is in L5P, I guess that's the community they serve, meaning you get things like the "Lambda Hour" and "Black Revolution Perspectives", and at lunch "Hard Knock Radio" a hip/hop/politics show straight outta Compton. Admittedly those things are not my bag, but there are some interesting ideas put forth, and a wise man gets his information from multiple sources. In the morning, there's a blues show, and in the evening, a bluegrass show hosted by a super nice guy who sounds like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - you can't get that on Sirius. Later in the evening is the jazz show, heavily laced with spoken word. Like most public radio, the variety is best enjoyed if you have a schedule of the shows - this is available on www.wrfg.org (when the site is up...). The station turns 35 this month, and they usually have a blues BBQ around Labor Day. If you're intown of Lilburn and Mableton, I encourage you to tune into this Atlanta institution at 89.3 on your FM dial, and listen to the finest radio money can't buy.
