I have been to many dentist offices in the Hudsonville Jenison area. This place by far is where you wanna be when you need anything done. I've had cleanings, fillings and root canals done here. I have been so happy to have switched to Clark & VanOverloop DDS when Georgetown Professionals informed me they would no longer honor my delta dental insurance. I've long suspected that Georgetown Professionals has overcharged for their services so they don't need to work on Friday's. It is so nice to go to a place that has the skills and integrity to do the right thing for their patient rather than just enrich their business. For example, Georgetown professionals wanted to charge me over $300 for a bite guard so I wouldn't grind my teeth. That's expensive. I said I'd think about it. When I went to Overloop, he told me that my grinding was moderate and didn't call for a bite guard unless I was having adverse symptoms. He also said it would cost $150. That's over $150 less than what Georgetown Professionals quoted me! This is how businesses should work. They stand behind their product, properly educate, are friendly and do the best they can to get you in when there is a dental emergency. Many problems with my children have happened on a Friday, it's so nice knowing they are open. Couldn't be happier with our switch. This is a great business run by great people. I have been seeing Dr. VanOverloop since he began practicing at this office before my previous dentist, Dr. Hall, retired. Dr. VanOverloop is very professional, listens to all of my concerns and does an excellent job performing checkups and all other dental procedures. All of the hygienists and office staff are friendly and helpful as well, I have never had any issues with scheduling appointments and rescheduling if needed. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went to just get a check up on a tooth in pain and they told me it was a root canal and I had to go somewhere else because they don't do them. Totally fine. So the dentist tells me that I'll be able to get in that week (I went in on a Monday after dealing with tooth pain since Friday night) and it'll be a quick fix because the antibiotics will take care of the pain. So I went home hoping for the best but still in severe pain and took the antibiotics like suggested. Antibiotics didn't do anything for the pain and I called the place for the root canal and turns out the dentist lied, I couldn't get in for another 10 days. Upon finding this out I called the office to ask for something to help because that's an insane amount of time to wait while being in that much pain, and they just told me to keep taking the same medication I was taking before which was not working at all. Even with telling them this they did not care and continued to tell me the same thing. 2 days later I was still in severe pain and had to call again to ask for something to help because it was so bad to the point I couldn't eat or sleep very well and it had been 5 days, only for them to be incredibly apathetic and to tell me to wait for the antibiotics to kick in even though it takes antibiotics 24 hours to kick in and it had already been past that. I had to freak out on them over the phone in order for them to do anything, which was only calling the place that I was getting my root canal done and somehow getting me in earlier (which they should have done day 1 with how much pain I was in but I had no idea that was an option since they didn't tell me so again I felt lied to). Included in me freaking out on the phone in order to receive care was me telling them to cancel all my future appointments because I'm no longer interested in seeing a dentist that will not do anything for a client in pain (if they're drilling and I feel pain how will I know you won't respond the same way and just expect me to deal with it?). So now I have the root canal done and I'm hoping to be done with this place and then I wake up to a voicemail from them asking to schedule even though they know I already told them I didn't want to. I then call them to let them know how displeased I was with this kind of care and service, only to be met with the same apathetic attitude and one office member laughing at me when I was frustratedly recounting what had happened to her.
