It's easy to book a room by contacting Myrtle House direct. Whilst our room was on the small side, it was clean, well furnished and had everything we needed. Our hosts were welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. You can also use the dining room if you want to bring your own food or take aways. As I knocked on the door, to what looked like a quaint little house the door was opened by a middle aged red headed woman who reminded me of Linda from the tv show Gimme Gimme Gimme. She showed us to our room, which was in dire need of decoration and was dirty. The room did have tea and coffee making facilities and a television though the television had no aerial so there wasnt much point of having it there!! I spent as little time as i could in the hotel, but couldnt avoid it completly when it came to going to bed the mattress was probably the most uncomfortable i have ever slept on and had the worst nights sleep of my life. We went down for breakfast the next morning and we were presented with some lemon desert for breakfast???? It was all a bit strange and i got out of there as quickly as i got in there! On top of all of this it is one of the most expensive places i have ever stayed in Skegness. At £65 for one adult and 2 under 2's. As i say this was the first night she has opened and the hotel probably isnt anything like this now but they say that first impression sticks dont they, i guess they were right.
