About two weeks ago my mom was admitted after a stroke and everyone from the ER triage nurses to the people delivering meal trays were just so nice, helpful and patient with my mother and kept our family up to date with things regarding her health. Since we spent a few long days at the hospital we were given a cart with tea, coffee, bottled water, soft drinks, fruit and snacks every day that were were there. That was completely unexpected and so appreciated. I especially appreciate the nurses in the Neuro ICU unit and the nurses in the third floor comfort care unit. Their compassion and was incredible especially since such an awful time in our lives. They have a DD downstairs in the lobby and a cafeteria where the food actually isn't bad at all. They even provide meals free of charge sent to the patient's room if you want.

Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. I was advised by my OB/GYN to seek care at the ER or Urgent Care. During my visit, Dr. Yeager asked whether I was having a boy or a girl. I explained that I did not yet know and would be finding out this weekend. He then stated that with "all these moms taking medications," by the year 2035 all boys will be on the spectrum. I found this remark to be inappropriate, insensitive, and unprofessional. It was unrelated to my medical care and made me feel uncomfortable during an already vulnerable time. Additionally, the comment made me feel as though I was wrong for seeking care, despite following my OB/GYN's instructions to go to the ER or Urgent Care. No patient should feel judged for seeking medical attention when advised to do so. I also did not feel that my symptoms or concerns were taken seriously. Compassionate bedside manner and respectful communication are especially important during pregnancy, and I did not feel that standard was met during this visit. I have always trusted BayCare Health System for my healthcare needs and have consistently had positive experiences. Unfortunately, this interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism and patient-centered care I have come to expect. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed to ensure that future patients receive respectful and appropriate care. Victoria P

Slow or no response scheduling important tests blaming the ins. company when the ins. company tells us they are waiting for them to make contact. My BP was very low at one appointment b4 a treatment and the Dr told me to call our primary to get advice as to what to do about it. My primary was shocked that Dr was unable to address this issue in that moment. MRI being scheduled but the paperwork was never sent over so it was cancelled. New treatment was started but no-one is checking to see how the reaction to the treatment is going, no follow up appointment until the next treatment 6 weeks away. So when I developed edema and painful night cramps, I treated it with compression socks and upped my intake of magnesium, potassium, calcium , ginger and turmeric. The swelling and cramps were intermittent and o didn't give much thought to it until I attended a health fair where Dr Mountcastle's representatives did a quick ultrasound and showed me that I had venous insufficiency. I went for a consult the following week, a full diagnostic ultrasound the next and met Dr Mountcastle the following week for my results. He was very clear in explaining what was happening, why and how it could be treated. I felt informed and empowered. He performed ELVT on my left leg that afternoon and ELVT on the right leg the next day. The procedure was not uncomfortable at all. Recovery wasn't bad and four weeks later, I have only a small amount of residual neuralgia that is clearly dissipating. No cramps since the third week, the swelling and tenderness resolved by week 3 as well. Dr Mountcastle's staff is befitting a surgeon of his stature. They are professional, caring, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend Mountcastle Vein center to all.

I have struggled for a year with pain and finally went to a doctor who had to send me to a neurologist who now has me on medicine for the rest of my life due to the nerve damage caused by this doctor's office. I had some deaf girl work on me both times and it literally felt like she was ripping my veins out of my legs with a nail file. I still have no feeling and I after one year, still have bruising that will never go away. Stay far away from these Quacks. I've contacted a lawyer however I'm past the one-year mark. It was my fault. I've also had to have knee replacement surgery since this time, because they told me also that it would help my knee pain which was a lie, and I have had to return to the hospital twice due to infections caused by the surgery done at mountcastle Vein Center. They don't know what they're doing. Stay far away.
