When we arrived we realized that we were the only people here! It's called bush camping, there is drink water, toilets and showers but nobody like a caretaker. Out site # 19 was easy to find and great because it is shady all day! The facilities were spotless and we parked our camper and did a little hike along the dry creek. We immediately spotted kangaroos and rock wallabies also tons of birds like galahs, magpies and wrens. On our walk we also saw a large snake. The park has lot of information plaques about the area, the trees and the wildlife and is generally well maintained. We payed $18 for our campsite and $10 park entrance fee. There are several BBQ s around but fires were illegal because of high fire danger. In the evening as we sat outside our van a big goanna visited us ( a huge lizard that only exists in Ozzie) before he climbed a tree like nothing! Big as a freaking dragon, I swear! The camping and park has to be booked in advance there is noway to do it right here. It's really beautiful and quiet.

Ingrid planned out a wonderful drive from Adelaide, stopping in the Clare Valley wine country for a gourmet lunch and wine tasting, and then onward to Parachilna for the geological adventure. The drive to the outback goes through remote country, and would not be advisable for a first-timer or lone traveler. Ingrid drove the way, was a guide during my stay, and drove me back to Adelaide. She has lived in the outback, hence she was a wealth of information about South Australia and outback life. She is an excellent conversationalist, and a very gracious, responsible, and pleasant person. I definitely would travel with her again, and recommend her highly.

A lovely little park tucked away in the suburbs. The park is on the River Torrens so you can easily…read morego for a stroll before dinner. The cabins are lovely and very roomy. There are great facilities for cooking in the cabins as well. Car parking is ample and lots of room for visitors to come and see you while you are on holiday. The staff seems to be quite strict on check in times, so if you plan on a late or early check in, let them know beforehand.

With a huge area of playground equipment, and a towering cubby house housing a flying fox, swings, a teeter totter and best of all, plenty of trees to climb and hide during a game of hide and seek. There is enormous shade available here and they have great BBQ facilities, seating benches, toilets with a changing table and a drinking fountain. We love coming here. Throw a picnic rug, walk bare foot on the mulch or soft grass, twirl, run, dance or jump. So much of fun and pleasure as you soak up nature's beautiful aroma, sights and sounds.

The playground is rubber floored and there's more than enough here to entertain a wide variety of ages. I have stayed at this caravan park a few times and it is quite good. You get a front row seat to…read morethe beach and the rooms are also pretty clean. Last time I went there someone put a dead sheeps head up on a wooden post sticking out of the ground right out the back of our cabin. As a animal lover I was terrified and felt sad for the poor sheep. My mum thought we were going to get murdered. A stray dog also kept coming to our cabin for a fed and the dog was heaps friendly. We were going to take it home with us and adopt it but it bit my mum's ex boyfriend so we had to leave the dog there. I cried all the way home. If you go this weird stuff might happen to you which, like myself, you probably won't forget. There is no McDonald's or large shopping centres at Port Victoria so if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life then this is the place for you
