I'm new to yoga but I've been to about 7 classes here so far and had lots of different teachers who…read morehave all been great. It's all Iyengar yoga but there's a lot of variation between classes. I have only been to beginner classes but have now been on every day they run (all except Friday and Sunday) and the teachers all have a slightly different style. Because of that you need to try it a few times on different days I think, see what pace of class suits you. The building is tucked away off Gloucester Road and is basic to look at but has a lovely atmosphere. It's very peaceful and smells of scented oil. You take your shoes off at the door and there's 2 studios and 2 changing rooms. You pay £10 for a one hour 15 min class but you can buy sessions in bulk to make it cheaper. I bought 12 classes for £84 so that's a hefty saving and after testing the water a couple of times in single sessions I knew I'd want to go all the time. You get 3 months to use the 12 classes. They provide all the equipment for free and they make sure you're happy and comfortable. There's no pressure to tie yourself in knots from day one and no judging - a 60 yr old woman regularly kicks my a*s and I'm half her age! It's first come first served so try and get there five minutes early. I haven't been turned away yet but the size of the class is quite unpredictable. I already feel stronger and today I did restorative yoga for the first time and I loved it. It's taken until now but I'm really into it and I'm historically unfit and don't go to the gym or do any exercise. I'd really recommend this place and yoga in general, I feel healthier every time I go.

It's just off gloucester road on denmark street, right at the end of the little side road. Shoes come off at the door and it's bare foot/socks around the studio. The nicest man ever greets you at reception telling you info. Cost is £10 per class which is the higher end cost wise- totes worth it! The class was busy with about 15 people attending, anne marie was amazing taking into account peoples various balances, hips and strengths. Easy to follow moves with definate pushing to achieve but without injury! Calming 5 minutes at the end left us all feeling calm but revitalised. Def will be booking more sessions, really really enjoyable :)

Efuah Bonney is the founding lady who has found peace in Pilates and is now eager to spread the message. Each class is different, tailoring it to the needs and capabilities of her students. It is this sort of approach that has earned the centre its good reputation. You can pay per class or for a bulk block. In addition to the Pilates there's a comprehensive range of stone therapy and massage on offer. The prices are all between £30 and £50 which is pretty much the going rate. All the services are high quality and to a very professional degree. With regular special offers and deals it is clear that this is a people-centred place with good things in mind. Two thumbs up.

Do you ever feel like you've had a really active day but still can't sleep? Or have had a real tough day at work and feel exhausted but similarly can't sleep? I suppose it's about having both your mind and your body in line, and a way to do this is through Pilates. Currently in their 10th anniversary year you know your definitely talking to pros. I've also found things like Pilates and Yoga a little on the still and un-interesting side but in fact they can do more good to your body than your aware of! As well as Pilates classes at all levels they offer other well being services such as detox plans, and acupuncture.

The staff are really good- helpful and friendly, and the bar/cafe makes a nice place to relax after a workout or to meet with friends or clients for business purposes. Hot snacks and drinks, juices, wine, spirits and bottled beer are all on sale. The sauna is nice enough if a little small, the steam room and changing rooms are often grubby. Can't say I've been for any of the beauty treatments at 'The Sensory', but they seem to do a good trade which can't be a bad sign. The range of classes is good but you need to book well in advance for the most popular ones. There is also aqua aerobics on a regular basis and swimming training on Tuesday evenings that can do wonders for your front crawl. Kids are allowed in the pool on weekends only, for which I believe their parents pay a premium.
