They have a random selection of cheap cosmetics that tend to be in retro shades - Pat Butcher from Eastenders comes to mind! Although some of their eye-shadows and nail varnishes are interesting because bright colours are trending. I bought two large suitcases (I mean even I fit in them!), two medium-sized and one cabin-luggage size for under £100! Low and behold, after walking down this same bloody road for about an hour (I live on Constitution Hill which turns into Great Hampton Street which turns into Hockley Hill which turns into Soho Hill which turns into Soho Road...AAARGH!) I finally find Sew-Tek. This store is full to the brim with sewing machines, accessories, buttons, embellishments and anything else you could possibly want, relating to sewing and embroidery. The man serving was very helpful and I got a cheap and cheerful Brother carry bag to match my machine. Sew-Tek is definitely worth a visit if you are over this way and can't make it to the market.

Because of all of this, she needed to buy a few bits and bobs to stock up her supplies, and that's where Sewtek came in. We popped in just to buy some more spare bobbins, and mum wanted to find out if they did repairs or servicing. The shopkeeper was super helpful and took details down and let her know what service options they offered. The downside to where they're situated is that the Soho Road is awful for parking, unless you're used to it and ready to just plough on through and block the road whilst you wait for a street space. That was why I'd been dragged along - to be the designated driver and stop her from screaming at other drivers!

I know some of my friends who have had their phones repaired at U Talk Fone's and they have said they would go their again if their phone needed repairing. The replacement was very poor, after having my phone back I checked it over to find a grey downed screen, the wrong fitting button, the speaker cover missing and my signal dropping completely - my phone was even struggling to connect to any network. I went straight back into the shop and was waved off immediately, the repair is fine, the button will adjust, the cover isn't needed and to access my service I had to connect it to my laptop. That was all a complete lie just to get me out of the shop, I left and phoned my dad we went in the next day. Was told the repair was wrong and they would redo it free of charge, we were pleased with this so the day after me and my friend went in and again we were told to leave, the phone repair was fine. Needless to say I haven't been back, after getting my phone repaired by someone who knew what they were doing we found out my aerial was bent out of shape, the screen was not genuine, the cover was just not put on and was still attached to the screen, the button was an iPad button and best of all screws were missing, fakes and my screen was being held in by two screws (out of four), one fake and one real. When I first entered the shop I was told that I was not allowed to wait within the shop, after arguing I was told that my phone would be taken into the back to be repaired, after passing the shop twenty minutes later there was my phone being repaired on the counter as they sat and chatted to another customer. I went in and was immediately told to leave and if I stayed the problems to my phone would be my own fault. The shop is incredibly rude and I could not believe the rudeness I encountered in there, I feel it was because I was a younger female they tried to take advantage of me by exploiting that I would not know much about repairs. Save to say I will never return and I warn anyone that ever goes near the shop.

If you're after bargains and you've got the time to browse, this is a great store. It's absolutely…read morehuge and full of old Argos stock at great prices. I don't know how the system works as some of the stock they have was in Argos six or seven years ago (where has it been in the meantime?) but it's well worth a look. The items are good quality and have been well stored, but the shop can be very difficult to get around. There is just a massive amount of stock there, and it is often not clearly marked (plain brown boxes etc). So you may have to do some digging around, and keep your eyes peeled. You could miss some great stuff! I think the place could do with its own catalogue, but that's probably not viable considering they likely get daily deliveries of random old Argos stock. So heartily recommended, but you have to go in with either a great amount of luck or a lot of time to really get the most out of it.
