We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at CJ's Off The Square in Tennessee, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From the moment we stepped into this enchanting venue, we knew we had found the perfect place for our special day. The versatility of the space allowed us to customize our celebration to reflect our personalities, creating a truly unique and personal experience for us and our guests. On the day of the wedding, everything did not run seamlessly. I (bride) struggle with chronic health issues with flare up symptoms made worse by heat (we had a June wedding) and stress. During pre ceremony photos I got over heated and had a flare up, I felt horrible and didn't know if I could even walk myself down the isle. Sidney and her team took it all in stride! Without really being asked they brought me ice packs, set me up in front of a fan, and provided me with all the ginger ale I could drink, all without the guest or my future hubby ever being the wiser! They then went above and beyond and placed chilled towels at the alter and an extra chair incase I needed it during the ceremony. Somehow they also got a fan to my MOH so she would fan me during the ceremony as needed. Truly can not thank the CJ's team enough for their kindness and care. The CJ's Off The Square team, led by Sidney, worked like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every detail was executed with precision. Our wedding day at CJ's off the Square was an absolute dream come true! Every detail was so incredibly perfect. Words cannot express how we felt about the venue - as a child, I had dreamt of a wedding venue with a pond and outdoor ceremony in a garden... and CJ's literally had every aspect of my vision! The fact that CJ's had everything in one place was perfect. Getting ready in the beautiful house, having the ceremony in the gorgeous garden, followed by cocktail hour and the reception in the covered pavilion flowed so nicely and our guests loved the convenience of everything! Our guests also still comment to this day about how lovely our wedding was and how gorgeous the venue was! In addition to the incredible venue, Sidney went ABOVE AND BEYOND as our planner! We live out of state and I am very type A. Sidney never once made me feel like I was asking too many questions, sending too many emails or requesting too many phone calls. Sidney was so attentive and knew the venue, timeline, etc. like the back of her hand. I felt so at ease knowing that she had everything under control. I had so many questions about logistics and Sidney was always a step ahead, explaining how she/the staff already had that handled so I didn't have to do anything on my wedding day! From packing up the bridal suite, to setting up ALL of the decor, to packing a to-go box of our cake and treats - Sidney and the staff did it all! I felt so relaxed and able to enjoy every moment of our wedding day! Sidney also made us feel like our wedding day was just as important to her as it was to us! We had so much fun every step of the way with Sidney - from creating my wedding Pinterest board to seeing the details come alive on our wedding day - Sidney was there every step of the way with a smile, encouragement and happiness. The experience at CJ's is much more than just having your wedding at their venue. From the meetings with your planner, their fabulous menu tasting event, vendor recommendations, communication, the continually updated and detailed wedding day timeline created by your planner... every step was exactly what I had hoped for during my wedding era! (Note - I chose to be hands-on because that is my personality, however, if I had a busy job or chose to be less involved, Sidney would have knocked it out of the park and done it all with minimal effort on my end. That is the beauty of booking at CJ's and having Sidney as your planner. YOU get to choose how involved you'd like to be and you can simply trust your planner and the staff to make the rest happen!). I had my eye on CJ's for a few months before our official engagement- I knew dates were being snapped up quickly and was completely thrilled to book one of the last dates of the year. In less than 5 months we were able to pull off the most wonderful day! -The venue: just as picturesque in person as in the photos. The landscaping is so well planned and maintained through out the seasons, the layout of the ceremony/reception area is cozy but plenty of room to comfortably accommodate 100+ guests; the historic home is so beautifully appointed- even the bathrooms are super stylish! It's so helpful to have getting ready areas for the bridal party on site. -The team: I can't say enough great things about Brette our planner. She's a total pro and was a joy to work with! CJ's is definitely a well oiled machine and the planning process was streamlined and organized from start to finish. Brette stayed on top of all the details and helped walk us through pieces of the day I would never have even thought to consider. She was so accommodating to any specific requests I had but also brought so much experience to the table to help us make good decisions! My husband and I really looked forward to our planning meetings- we loved having those dedicated times set aside to walk through the process and dream about our upcoming day. -The vendors: One of the most appealing things to me about choosing CJ's was that the catering/cake/rentals/DJ were all taken care of and I could completely trust in the quality of the vendors with whom CJ's chooses to work. It was 100% worth it to have all of the vetting done for us so we could focus on the fun decisions of cake flavors and first dance songs:) Brette was also able to provide tons of references for other vendors we needed- photography, florals, wedding stationary, transportation, etc etc. I quickly discovered that CJ's is a well known and well loved venue in Middle Tennessee and everyone in the wedding industry that we talked with were super excited to be a part of a CJ's wedding! -The day: from walking into the bridal suite and seeing my dress and veil beautifully displayed, to watching the floral installation come to life, to realizing that the team made sure there were matching gold pens for the guest book- literally every detail was covered. At the end of the day what matters most is that I am married to the love of my life and did so in the presence of all our dearest friends and family. We celebrated and had the best time! That would be true no matter what wedding disaster had occurred. But the fact that we had the most beautiful day made it all that much sweeter:) read more

If you want an outdoor wedding but are worried about rain, book CJ's. There were two thunderstorms the day of our daughter's wedding, but Leah bent over backwards to still have the ceremony outside in the garden in between. (The rain plan is also beautiful, facing the garden.) Contrary to what I expected, the planning process was stress-free because of CJ's almost-all-inclusive, clear process. At all scheduled decision-making meetings, our wedding coordinator Leah was consistently professional, responsive, and kind. When making a decision with her on setup, menu choices, menu cards, cake, DJ, bartending, all your decisions are already included, so there is no added cost. (You can choose upgrades, but there is no pressure to do so.) The menu tasting night was fabulous--like we were guests at our own event--and gave us confidence that the meal was going to be a highlight (it was!). Venues always ask about dietary restrictions, but CJ's follow-through was above and beyond. One of our guests with severe food allergies confessed to me afterwards that she assumed she wouldn't be able to eat--but she was met at her reception table by a staff member with a clipboard who re-asked all the food allergy questions, bringing her a special plate, and for that reason she felt confident and was able to enjoy dinner. The plating, linen and glassware options are plentiful. Our photographers said CJ's was their favorite venue for photos--so many unique settings within the garden and house. The champagne wall at the reception was a lovely addition. The chandeliers under the pavilion make for romantic, elevated reception photos. The DJ (included) was outstanding and the Zoom meetings with him were informative and helpful; he did exactly what the bride and groom asked for, and the reception energy was impressive. Our florist was Petite Petal from CJ's short list of florists they love, and Sara delivered a Monet-themed extravaganza that went above and beyond. The air conditioning in the bridal suite and groom's wine cellar works very well--I was worried beforehand! The staff brought out cold towels when it got hot, and our guests loved that thoughtful touch. Zero regrets; CJ's has SO many advantages. Many of our guests gushed during and after about the beauty of the venue and professionalism of the staff. When I was looking for a wedding venue I was looking for somewhere that could make my BIG dreams come true. CJs was all that and MORE. When I first met Sidney we instantly clicked! She was so SWEET and had such a POSITIVE attitude which continued through the process even when my feelings were going through the normal ups and downs of wedding planning. I told Sidney when we first met I wanted my wedding to be STUNNING. It was 100% a team effort. With a year of VERY hard work and Sidney and CJ at the forefront the CJs team created just that. My mom and I were VERY particular with our vision and were not sure our expectations could even be met, let alone be EXCEEDED beyond belief. After all our uncertainties, changes and weather issues, CJs delivered the MOST BEAUTIFUL, and EPIC (as our guests are all calling it) WEDDING. They worked extremely hard to make sure my husband and I had the PERFECT day. They went ABOVE and BEYOND having more meetings, emails, calls, and walkthroughs to make sure they could make our dream a reality. They are so personable and we could tell they individually cared about making our wedding perfect. They added in personal touches that made us feel special and incredibly grateful. The venue itself is GORGEOUS and so customizable. My husband and I always thought we'd have a 200+ person wedding but we ended up having around 115-120 and we loved the intimate wedding feel. They treated our families and guests with kindness and insured that our family and the wedding party were well taken care of throughout the evening. The tables were SPECTACULAR from the place settings to the BREATHTAKING flowers, the food was so delicious guests are still talking about those appetizers and that Gouda mac and cheese, the champagne wall backdrop was gorgeous and a big hit, the cool towel service felt so extravagant and was so appreciated. The DJ kept the night moving and the energy HIGH! You'd never know we were in a heat advisory with all the people on the dance floor! They executed every detail we asked for with precision. For all of this, we are eternally grateful. There is service and then there is STELLAR service. If I could give CJ's a Michelin star, I would. They deserve it! If you are combing the Tennessee hills in search of a venue to hold your wedding stop right there and seriously consider celebrating your wedding at CJ's Off the Square. I was in search of the perfect venue so my husband and I spent many weekends visiting venues from the coast of Florida to the mountains of Gatlinburg. While those adventures were fun, the perfect place for us was in our back yard the entire time. CJ's is a gem snuggled amongst the beauty of Historic Downtown Franklin. Aesthetically the home is the perfect backdrop for photos with beautiful fire places, a wine cellar in the basement and a gorgeous oversized wrap around porch. The garden is the highlight of the property. Words cannot describe the oasis that sits behind this home and you will be shocked that something so beautiful resides behind this home every day of the year. The rich colors of the garden tell a story of love and reveal its many stories with each change of the season. I honestly couldn't decide if I wanted to hold our wedding with the spring bloom or the fall foliage. We settled on a spring wedding and it was more than I could have ever dreamt of thanks to the amazing staff of CJ's. The garden lit at night with strings of hanging bulbs between the trees and a Koi pond lined with flickering candles is truly a magical sight. As was our dance floor under the large pavilion. It was quite a party! Everything was very detailed and meticulously planned with Amy Parman at the helm of our wedding. The professionalism at CJ's is unsurpassed - and I spoke with many wedding planners before coming here. Yes, the home and its beauty was a major selling point but the staff is what really sealed the deal. Amy dealt with everything - our vendors, the set up, the flow of the wedding - the list goes on and on. I cannot thank her enough for everything she did. We look back fondly on our experience at CJ's Off the Square and we can hardly believe it's been almost three years. I cannot express how happy I am with all of the services I received from CJ's Off the Square. I started looking for a venue about a year before my wedding and checked out numerous places in the Nashville area. I have always wanted to have a garden wedding with a romantic, chic feel. Finding a venue in Nashville that did not include a barn or a country theme was somewhat difficult. I stumbled upon CJ's in downtown Franklin and was excited to look at a place in the downtown Franklin area that had a large outdoor area. I immediately fell in love! CJ's is so charming and beautiful! The garden area is absolutely breathtaking and I loved that there were plenty of photo opportunities. I especially loved that the reception pavilion is covered in case of rain as most places will make you put a large deposit down on a tent even if you do not end up using it. My absolute favorite part about CJ's is what is included. CJ completely understood my vision & I definitely feel that this place can be made into whatever style you are going for. This venue is truly special and CJ has done a wonderful job at turning a beautiful, old house into an upscale venue. The vendors that CJ uses are absolutely amazing! I could not more highly recommend all of them & I felt completely confident in our wedding being everything we imagined it to be. I had been put-off before by having to use specific vendors but I can honestly say that they did an amazing job and every single person was very professional and efficient. CJ is completely flexible and will work with you to ensure that your vision comes to life. CJ is absolutely amazing and I could not have asked for a more stress-free, pleasant, and beautiful experience. CJ and her team are a true pleasure to work with and it meant the world to me to feel confident in her ability to envision what I wanted my wedding day to be. We just had our wedding and reception at CJ's over Labor Day weekend. I can not rave more about the ENTIRE experience! We live in Ohio so Nashville was a "destination" for our guests. Jennifer Rhem, our wedding coordinator along with CJ made us feel completely at home when we first visited, kept in communication throughout the entire planning process, even states away, helped with everything imaginable at our rehearsal, and were my fairy godmothers the day of our wedding! We planned for about a year and a half and the communication, information, and support we got from Jennifer and ALL their preferred vendors we chose was beyond incredible! The whole entire staff was perfect- we felt so at home and we miss our meetings and check-ins from planning already! We did not have to think about ANYTHING on the wedding day except each other! Jennifer and CJ kept the decor a surprise for me until right before the guys were to arrive- when I walked out to see how it came together I felt like I was dreaming- the ENTIRE venue was put together even more beautiful than I had pictured in my head my whole life. You grow up imagining what your dream day will look like and CJ's pulled it all together and then some! It was like they took what I envisioned and blew it up times a thousand! My parents did not have to do a single thing on our wedding day also but ENJOY! People are still raving about the decor, the flowers, the DJ, the food, the cake, just the venue in itself, and how AMAZING everyone was that helped to make our day such a dream! In Nov, my new husband and I experienced our wedding at "CJ's Off the Square" in downtown Franklin. We toured MANY venues in and around Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin before choosing CJ's for our venue. There are no words to describe how happy we are with that decision. Even our friends and family are still complicating us on the wedding and reception. It was the perfect venue for a ceremony and reception/party afterwards. They transformed the venue to exactly what we envisioned. our planner Sidney helped us create our dream vision. No detail was missed. No request was denied. Sidney was there for us, from our first tour to the menu tasting, to choosing our venue decorations. She was amazing and helped us with details we didn't even know we wanted. The recommendations for other vendors like florists, etc. also helped streamline what can be daunting when planning a wedding. The bride's area for hair, make-up and dressing is very quaint and calming adding to the experience for the rest of the day. The full-service they provide is brilliant and takes so much stress off during the planning and then continues throughout the ceremony and reception. The food was amazing. Our guests said they couldn't believe it was "wedding food". The DJ was so much fun. He kept our guests dancing even after we left! His willingness to allow us to make a playlist and then build around it was so meaningful. The last detail of actually loading our car for us after the reception made such a difference. We could leave and know that we weren't leaving anything behind. Whether you're looking for a reception venue or a full-service venue, we cannot recommend CJ's enough times, and requesting Sydney as your planner will make your day even more special and stress free!! read more

A month or so after getting engaged I started researching venues, vendors, and wedding planners in the greater Nashville area. After about two weeks of researching I became pretty overwhelmed with all of the pieces I needed to put together to make this shindig happen! After stumbling across the CJ's website, I instantly fell in love with the photos of the venue. We quickly made an appointment and met CJ for our tour. CJ was very sweet and answered all of our questions. We fell even more in love with the venue and knew it was the perfect place for us! From there we met our wedding planner Jennifer, who is absolutely incredible! My husband says I am the most detail oriented/OCD person ever created, so thank you Jennifer for making sure our wedding was absolutely perfect. The planning meetings leading up to our wedding were very helpful, as we were able to pick out exactly what we wanted, from food and place settings to floral arrangements. Adding our own personal decor items was not a problem at all either. Jennifer was always available to answer any and all questions as well as to ease any concerns allowing me to wake up the morning of the big day stress-free. Our ceremony was intimate and serene, our flowers, decor, and place settings were exactly what we envisioned- and they were incredibly gorgeous. Our dinner was delicious and the serving staff were very professional and kind. Our DJ kept the party going all night long. So many friends and family commented on how the evening flowed perfectly! It truly was the best day of my life and I am so thankful to the CJ's team for creating the perfect wedding for us! read more

The first appeal to CJ's, for us, was how affordable it was compared to other vendors in the Nashville area- especially considering how much was included with the venue (the DJ, the bar service, the catering, the wedding cake, the wedding planner, etc)! And then we fell in love with CJ's after touring the venue; it is the most charming, historical-looking home located a block or so off the downtown square in Franklin, TN (only about 20-30 minutes outside of downtown Nashville, very convenient for friends who were visiting from out-of-town). The garden area, where we had our ceremony, is so well-maintained and beautiful in any season. The pavilion area, which is covered, gave us the comfort of a "rain plan" and also served as the reception area. We were happy to have both the ceremony and reception outside, as we were concerned about COVID, but the ceremony area in the garden is paved with stone and the pavilion is aggregate, so ladies could still comfortably wear heels. We had 100 people seated for both the ceremony and then the reception and it felt spacious enough to accommodate everyone but also intimate, which is what we were hoping for. Honestly, I would have to say the best part of booking with CJ's was our wedding planner, Allison. She was incredibly patient with us, since I was so particular about every detail, and really went above and beyond to make the day exactly what we wanted it to be. Simply put, our whole experience and wedding day at CJ's off the Square was nothing short of a dream. Every last detail was coordinated by our wonderful wedding planner, Sidney, over the course of a year. Sidney and the entire team at CJ's had the planning process down to a science keeping it stress free and on a timeline. We were so excited each and every time we got to meet with Sidney whether it was to pick out table setting details or review food and drink options right up until our final walkthrough and rehearsal. We both can attest we actually had FUN while wedding planning. Now comes our actual wedding day this past September... WOW. Our hearts are so happy reminiscing on every minute of our day at CJ's. I walked into CJ's with my dad to tour the venue, and it instantly felt like home. The level of hospitality from start to finish was truly next-level. Leah, our planner, was attentive, communicative, understanding, and compassionate throughout the entire experience. The most standout quality of CJ's Off the Square was the service-- the wedding day was an absolute dream. The staff was over-the-top accommodating, efficient, and professional. They executed every part of the rehearsal and day-of with precision. Every member of their team was kind. They treated me, our families, our guests, and the bridal party as if we were royalty. They kept the flow of the evening going without feeling rushed or stressed, and my friends and family have not stopped raving about the incredible time that they had. The historic house is absolutely beautiful-- the groom's suite (wine cellar) and bridal suite are classic and timeless. Our DJ even checked on us and offered to bring us a drink during dinner service-- which seems like such a small gesture, but truly embodies the mission statement of CJ's. When I first thought about planning a wedding, I was so nervous. Thinking about the vendors, the cake, and flowers, napkins, silverware....it can be so overwhelming. However, CJ's Off the Square wipes your worries away! Being able to go in and work with a team who knows what they are doing, are professional, and care about your personal vision was the GREATEST BLESSING. Even when I had everything planned out, but in true wedding fashion things changed at the last minute, the venue and my planner were able to roll with it without me even getting notified sometimes. They truly make wedding stress...STRESS FREE. Almost 3 months after my wedding, and I am STILL GETTING COMPLIMENTS. I had an amazing planner, who from beginning to end, never got annoyed with my questions, and would even give suggestions when I wasn't quite sure how it would look the day of my wedding. The staff respond quickly, and help you make off major checkpoints as you go through the process. I also loved how the cost was upfront. My husband and I started planning fairly early out, which gave us the ability to make payments every month, to ensure everything was paid for before the actual day. I loved this, especially because paying for a wedding all upfront can be daunting, no matter how much you prepare for it. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone looking to get married. There is not enough amazing things I can say about CJ, her staff, and her venue! Planning a wedding was fun and stress-free, thanks to CJ! She helped me stay on top of everything and was there with all my questions along the way. Every person she referred me to was also excpetional and wonderful to work with as well. On the day of my wedding, I had nothing to worry, I knew CJ was going to meet and exceed all expectations, and she did! I was not stressed and the day flew by without a flaw! She stayed the entire night, made sure my husband and I actually got to eat the delicious dinner and was there to make sure everything went as planned! The DJ, Jason, was absolultely amazing! He had everyone on the dance floor the entire night, and he knew how to keep the flow of songs going to make sure everyone had a good time! The caterer was amazing, and the food was delicious! I cannot say enough amazing things about CJ! I would highly recommend her to any bride planning a wedding, you will not regret it!! You will have the wedding of your dreams and you yourself will just get to enjoy the day knowing CJ is there taking care of everything! The best day of our lives all due to an amazing experience with CJ's and Brette! From the beginning to the end (day of and after) Brette was by our side for anything and everything. We wanted a smaller garden/outdoor venue and had to have my mother and sister do the touring initially for us as we live out of state. We all fell in love! All our vendors that were mostly suggested by Brette, were 100% perfect! The biggest thank you for a perfect day, must go to Brette. Through her work, she provided the example of what first class service, communication, and planning looks like. Always genuine, always honest and always there with the answer and smile! I honestly wish she could've sat in the audience during our ceremony as she truly felt like a close friend to us. Her excitement, matched our excitement, always. With our busy work schedules it was tough getting a time that worked for us for zoom meetings, but she was always very flexible. And her attention to detail kept my stress levels low so I could enjoy every minute from planning to enjoying the day of. We couldn't have asked for a more personal partner for this amazing day. As MOTB at a recent wedding at CJ's Off the Square, I want to sing the praises of not only CJ Dickson but of her entire team, especially Allison Adams, our planner.  While our daughter Katey and her fiancé live in Nashville, my husband and I live three states away and I admit to wondering at first what impact that distance might have during the planning process. It became clear almost immediately it was a non-issue as CJ's has the timeline for the various selection deadlines down to a science and we simply had to be prepared, give them our decisions and enjoy the outcomes as they came to fruition! I want to personally reassure any MOTB in my situation or any bride-to-be contemplating a Nashville-area destination wedding that not being local should never be a concern.  CJ's professionalism and warmth made it easy for any of us to call/email/text if we had a question or concern with the full knowledge that we'd get a prompt answer or solution along with a reassuring word. When I walked into the pavilion right before our guests arrived and saw it and the garden areas set up so beautifully with CJ and Alli overseeing every detail, I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that from that moment on all would fabulous.  And it was!  As Katey has said (more than once) "That was the best day of my life!" As two teachers, the thought of wedding planning seemed very daunting, but CJs made it so easy from day 1 to feel excited without the stress of all of the little details. So many people kept telling us that something was going to go wrong on the wedding day, but CJs did a fantastic job at ensuring that everything was seamless. Even if something went wrong, we would not have known as Sidney, our planner, did such a great job with everything and was there with us the whole day. The venue was gorgeous, and all of our guests (mostly out of towners) were in love with the beautiful gardens and quaint classic southern charm. Sidney had everything perfectly planned out and organized from the start allowing us to show up, make all of the fun selections (plates, seats, food, etc), and then leave while she took care of all of the business details for us. We especially appreciated the check in process on the rehearsal day - we received a list of everything to bring and were able to drop everything off the day before so that when we showed up for our wedding everything was there, set up, and we were able to live in the moment. We would highly recommend CJs to anyone looking an all-inclusive wedding experience in the Nashville/Franklin area. read more
