In an area inundated with CVS and RiteAide type pharmacies, it's refreshing to find a local choice like City View in Astoria. They're flexible with various plans (medicaid, etc.) and are one of the few I've countered that offer delivery as well. Until Zyrtec became OTC, this was one of the only places I'd go to get my prescription filled. Coming here was such a breeze compared to other pharmacies because they were quick, friendly, and more than helpful. The person to speak to there is Nick, the friendliest person on the phone and in person. He's been polite and courteous every time, it's because of people like him there are return customers. I'm quite fortunate to not have to go to the doctor much or depend on any type of medicine to go about my day. If my lifestyle revolved around popping pills or refilling prescriptions, then this place would be the highlight every time. read more

I never review businesses on yelp but this place is such a nightmare I have to make people aware. They did not fill my prescription after spending 15 minutes on the phone with them. They told me my insurance was not active ( they had the wrong date of birth regardless of telling them information multiple times). Then could not find me in the system even though I had been there many times. Long story short they do not pay attention. Period. All things that should be extremely simple are nearly impossible here. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Best pharmacy ever. Staff remembers you and are very concerned of your well being instead of just making a few bucks off you. They once warned us about a prescription for our 2 year old and asked us to double check with the doctor to make sure that was it. Sure enough doctor had not pay attention to our kids age and was prompt to change the subscription. Luckily enough City view pharmacy staff warned us before or our child would be taking the wrong medicine. The other plus is that they deliver whatever you need from them. The place used to be good. I don't know what happened. It's like they don't realize that people sometimes can't wait days for their medicine. They aren't open Sunday and they will randomly close on Saturdays and other days. And their service is indolent and the staff is unresponsive. I came in 3 days after the scrip had been called in and it wasn't ready. After siting for 30 minutes behind 2 other customers because NOTHING was pre-prepared. And the same person that was working the register was filling the prescriptions. One person. Go somewhere else. read more

I agree with the other positive reviews. I'm so glad there's not a chain pharmacy in our neighborhood, and we have City View. The people are so friendly, they always get things right and they take care to make sure we understand what we're taking/getting. If there's a mixup or misunderstanding with the doctor, they resolve it with them as your advocate. The other day, my wife was sick while I was at work and they ran over, in a nasty rain storm, just some inexpensive over-the-counter meds for her, left them with the doorman and trusted us to pay them back later (which we, of course, did ;-)). I was touched at what a nice gesture that was and it sealed the deal with me. I love these folks. read more

City View is a great local pharmacy. The employees are so friendly and eager to help. Such a great neighborhood spot that really makes you feel like a part of the Astoria community. It doesn't as big of a selection of products as your standard Rite Aid or CVS, but it is great for picking up all of your basics. Plus, if there is something particular you really want, they will order it to the store for you! The prices are sometimes a little more expensive than other pharmacies, but I usually don't mind paying the extra few cents here because I really love this place. (And that's coming from a girl who is super cost conscious!) They also have a random assortment of cute gift baskets and baby products! When I recently had my prescription filled here the pharmacist Harry was so helpful. The prices for prescriptions are the same as any other pharmacy. I will definitely be exclusively filling my prescriptions here from now on. read more

The BEST Pharmacy that I have ever been to is Cityview! The entire staff is wonderful & compassionate. They take the time to remember your name & go out of their way yo get everything that you need. Harry & his team of Pharmacists are fantastic. I moved to the other side of Astoria and tried using the several national chains near me but, quickly switched back to Cityview. I will never patronize this pharmacy again. I was very recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was told by my doctor to start testing my blood sugar immediately. My doctor called in my prescription to City view which I followed up on immediately after my doctors appointment. I was told that 2 of their delivery guys were out sick so I said I will just go in myself to pick up since I needed it by mid-day. I am pregnant and it is not easy to get around but I needed my prescription immediately so I waddled on over. At home I followed my doctors exact orders on timing for food and exercise, then went to test my blood sugar and was fiddling around with the instructions & parts only to find that the parts I was provided did not fit each other. Isn't this basic stuff? Make sure you fill the prescription with the correct items? I called the pharmacy and was told that oh yeah the parts don't fit and they will send a replacement later today. I informed them I had to leave my apartment in 20 minutes and I was supposed to have tested my blood sugar 20 minutes ago. Then the guy has the nerve to tell me "oh it's fine the delivery guy will be there in 20 minutes". No jerk, I will be gone in 20 minutes and my window to check my blood sugar will have long vanished. I have been a customer for several years but the incompetence I experienced today has guaranteed I will never have another prescription filled again at this pharmacy. read more

I just moved to the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago from Boston and I'm so glad I decided to go with City View instead of continuing with CVS. I'm still on my old insurance until my new one kicks in so it was not as simple but Harry was extremely helpful and welcoming. It's the little things like this that make you feel at home. This is an outstanding pharmacy for several reasons. First of all THEY DELIVER (free delivery) all over Queens! Since I am disabled it's always a big production to get my medicine but this pharmacy delivers right to my front door and they accept credit cards. Also what I only just realized since I have been using City View, I now realize how much Duane Reade has been overcharging me for the same medications for years! The pharmacy is fine, they have most stuff you need and prices are decent enough. But it's been my experience they won't let you in for the 15 minutes before the posted closing time. I've called and told them I was on my way just to show up with the door locked and the person at the register saying they closed it out already. Like, why post hours? Why did I bother to call? So my suggestion is arrive a half hour early or expect to go elsewhere. read more

I love this place. The staff there is SO friendly! They are very welcoming when you come in. There have been a few occasions where I had questions about my medication or side effects, and they are really helpful. Never had my meds delivered, but I would trust them. I've been shopping at Rite Aid for awhile now to get my basic items. But on my last recent trip, I noticed that all three items I bought (varied from make-up removal to heel pads) cost about $4.79 each. I guess it's just some magic number Rite Aid conjured up to charge customers. But the price was a little outrageous, so I finally mustered up the courage to step outside my comfort zone and try a local pharmacy. Thanks to the reviews of local Yelpers, I was able to find City View, which offers a great selection of personal care items. Family friendly pharmacy. I just recently moved to Long Island City and there are 3 different pharmacy around my house, I tried it and end up coming back to CityView Pharmacy because the customer service I've been receiving here is like no other! They go above and beyond just to make sure you get the proper and correct medicine and will try everything to make sure the medicine is approved by your insurance so no cost to you. I cannot believe the reviews about cityview! Are they written by there own employees? I've joined cityview 2 yrs ago after coming highly recommended from my physician and ended our Relationship December, 2012. For 2years it has been nothing but a headache for me. Medicines are never delivered on time which messes up my insurance. Other people's prescriptions have arrived attached to mine. They blow up my phone for delivery even after I've emailed and called them to let them know I will not be home. And never has my mess arrived with the complete order , always a prescription here and then the other upto 2 weeks later. Mind you I am a great customer for them taking almost 30 prescriptions per month totaling almost 50k a year for them. And the final straw was even after I called and cancelled them out in December. They decided they would continue to fill my prescriptions and charge my insurance company which left me with no mexi action for the beginning of February because noone would fill my prescriptions because according to the logs they have already been filled because. It's kew charged them already but never bother to call or send me my meds. read more

They totally saved the day for me. I was on a trip and the wifey got sick. I found City View by googling "NYC pharmacy delivery." Called 'em up and they delivered Nyquil, echinacea tea, cough drops and more to our apartment within a couple hours. The delivery would have arrived even sooner, but I told them to hold off for a couple hours since the wife had just gone back to bed. I just moved to a new apartment literally right next door. And I'm used to using large pharmacies that are part of Duane Reade or CVS. So this was a change for me. But I was very much pleasantly surprised by this small pharmacy. They have such an amazing variety of products they sell over the counter as well as fun toys and random gift items/cards. The staff is super friendly and always willing and eager to help me. I haven't had one bad experience here and look forward to continuing to use them as my local pharmacy! I would suggest this place to anyone in the area. Not to mention they deliver to your door your prescriptions if you live a bit farther away! Never going back to big pharmacies. I much prefer City View and it feels like a family there! They are even willing to call your doctor or an urgent care if your prescription isn't going through and speak with your doctors directly! I'm really surprised City View Pharmacy hasn't yet been reviewed or rated. As a new mom with a little premie in Astoria I've struggled to navigate American medication and insurance systems (I'm not from around here...) and I can't think of any business or service that has made my life easier in trying to do so than City View. The staff there - from the sales lady to the delivery guys - don't seem to have 'bad days', the pharmacists, Harry and Nick, remember your name, are unfailingly courteous, helpful and sweet, they always have the medicine you need and always ensure that they are ready on time - even at very short notice. Spill a bottle? No problem; they'll take care of it. Teething problems with new insurance details? They'll send the medication anyway and sort out the details later. And best of all, they deliver - free of charge - so no hauling a 10-week old out in the freezing cold to fill her latest prescription... This place is a true gem. read more
