I had three terrific experiences with this company. The first time was maybe four years ago when I was ready to torch my 2003 Chevy Malibu for its collapsed driver's seat. Nobody wanted to tackle it anywhere and believe me, I looked. Someone locally said to try this place and they looked at it and said, "No big deal. We can fix it." And fix it they did, at less than what I would have expected. For the first time in years I was able to drive my car without back pain. Fast forward to last year and I purchased a lovely 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SEC with a passenger front seat that had a split along one seam. I asked if this was something they could resew and after looking at it they said it might be doable. The leather was a little bit harder than they would have liked (age related) but they said they believed they would have success. And they did. The job was perfection. And at a very reasonable cost. So last month I decided to ask them to have a go at doing something about the squishy driver's side seat. At the same time they recommended someone who could restore and re-color the leather (lots of bolster wear made them a bit rough to look at). I dropped the car off and the seats were removed for a gent named Michael Curl of Glass Pro Systems to do the restoration work. And holy cow, are they now gorgeous! Unfortunately the guys and gals of City Upholstery told me that none of the springs were broken and that they were simply fatigued. The only real and proper way to take care of that is a full springs replacement and I did not want to handle that at that moment. It's not exactly easy to find a spring carriage for 1980's Mercedes Benz seats. What's terrific is how service oriented these folks were. They told me the real deal and charged me a reasonable fee for the cost of taking the seats and then putting them back in. I should mention that this car has heated seats and multiple power seat options so if they didn't know what they were doing you can bet the seats would have been messed up. So thumbs up for this place. I really do like them and when I find a nice seat spring carriage for my driver's side seat I know exactly where I need to go to have the work done. If I am able to update this review later I will post a link to a video I am editing showing what was done. read more

I got a used Land Rover and dropped it off at City Upholstry on July 11th, 2023 to have the sear covers replaced and the inside above my head redone. As of today, October 9, 2023 it is not done and they have no idea when. I went there with a police officer over 2 weeks ago (many calls to them since) and the manager yelled at me telling me she can't do nothing about it but it would be done by Friday. 2 weeks later, today, I call and she couldn't tell me anything more. I did call back and told her I want to talk to the owner! Was told he was there and would call me back. I don't suggest this company to anyone!! read more

City Upholstery - Furniture Reupholstery Near Me - Havelock, North Carolina

See all

Don't take your car here for anything! I try to give my business to the small local companies and I had a great experience with City Upholstery many years ago so I didn't give it a second thought when three inches of the headliner in my 2013 Avalon came loose at one edge. I was told that to fix it required an entire headliner replacement. I had to return to this place FOUR times and I still have a crappy looking headliner with dirt smudges, wrinkles and ugly divots. After my last visit they assured me it was as good as they could make it. THATS when the entire roof started to fall down around my ears because they forgot the clips in front, at sun roof and in the back!! See attached pic. What REALLY pisses me off, though, is that I had to have a new headliner on a seven year old car. #toyota really needs to improve upon their quality in that regard. Buyer beware. Edit: they did refund half of what I paid and apologized. But I still had a to return after that. read more

City Upholstery - Front looking towards back. That gap is my headliner with zero clips holding it up AFTER they 'finished' the job. Same gap in front/rear. - Furniture Reupholstery Near Me - Havelock, North Carolina

They reupholstered the front seat of my 2006 Ram. It looks like factory work! Beautiful job, very nice people and very reasonable price.

I had two bad experiences with these people. I took them my son's car seat January sis to get recovered. They guaranteed me it would be ready for his birthday on January 16. It was not ready. I had to demand the seat and go in Thursday and wait till 8:00 PM to get it. They messed up the M badge stripes ( drew them exact dimensions and exact colors). They made it over twice the size it should have been, to the point it looked clownish. They agreed to fix, but car had to go in to paint shop. When it came out I took the seat back Feb. 19. They assured it by today(son for his license today) called them Monday to check on seat and they said it was not ready, I again explained the importance of it being ready today. Called all day today and their phone was not working. Called the owners cell and he had. I voicemail set up. Texted him about seat and about the phone issue at the shop. I got no response all day. I drove there last thing today and got there just before closing, they had not even touched the seat. The owner got my messages because his wife at the front said she just found out about the phone after her husband came out front to ask her about it after getting my texts.... I made the mistake of paying cash, so low I will have to pay someone else to fix their screw up. read more

I dropped of my vehicle to get my seats re-stitched. When I picked up my vehicle there was a bloody thumb print on my headrest, blood droplets on my seat and papers in the back seat. While removing or re-installing my seat a clip was damaged which cause the back portion of my seat to hang off. Also something wasn't plugged back in during the installation of the seats which cause my SRS light to come one. When I called the owner and explained everything to include the blood stains in my vehicle, he didn't seem surprised nor did he offer an apology or anything. When I brought the vehicle back and showed the papers with the blood droplets and showed the back of the seat and such, STILL NO APOLOGY FOR THE BLOOD STAINS OR CONCERN FOR THE DISGUST. The craftmanship of the work is excellent however, the professionalism is lacking. If you patronize this business inspect what you expect before you leave the premises! read more

If I could rate them 0 stars I would. Showed lack of appreciation for me as a customer and I would never recommend them to anyone!!! Quoted me a price and tried increasing it when it was time to pay. Constantly giving me the run around and lying to me about my property. Very bad business defiantly do not recommend!!!! read more

sadly only the people who feel this company did not live up to their expectations take the time to post, I am one who takes the time to express my gratitude for the way this company helped me. I have searched all over to find a vinyl that was very pliable so it could conform to some tight radiuses on my boat. they were the first to take an interest in my problem . They showed the samples explained the product.ordered it .had it shipped to my house. called to make sure I received it. very professional . read more
