I have lived in this community for six years and have sadly seen it steadily decline over time. While the location is excellent for access to Charlotte and local shops, the area is becoming increasingly crime-ridden. In the past year alone, my car has been messed with twice - vandalized the first time and stolen right off the lot the second time. When I contacted the apartment complex for security footage of the lot, I learned that the apartment complex does not have security cameras ANYWHERE on the premises. Maintenance is also sorely lacking. In six years, I have had my apartment air filters changed twice (and only then at my request). Getting in touch with the apartment staff is very challenging, especially for weekend maintenance emergencies (HVAC units go out at least twice a year). Furthermore, office staff are not gracious at all. It's also telling that the head of our apartment complex has changed at least 4 times in the last six years. While I'm sure staffing is challenging in this industry, the frequent turnover indicates bigger issues. Suffice it to say, I will not be renewing my lease at the end of this term and I can't wait to move. read more

From dead birds on stairs and roaches/"water bugs" (both of which were reported to leasing office; dead bird was eventually removed after 2 weeks) to employees telling me that I cannot pay my rent early to feeling unsafe with fights, break ins, and lack of security; I hate to leave bad reviews but I think this one is warranted.... To make this long story short: -lack of knowledge regarding rent and portal access -lack of cleanliness -breakins and car keying I have been staying here at City Park view for a little over 3 years now and it was truly another home for me. Chantell, Simone, and Hannah were very helpful so I was Very hurt when they chose to transition. I have remained in contact with many of the previous workers, where they have given me instances and examples of what occurs and why is it was best they left. As someone who is rarely home on weekends, and works from home during the day, I have truly learned to HATE this complex. I have recently contacted the new "management" in hopes of peacefully breaking my lease, a request that I asked of this office around 3 weeks ago, that one lady mentioned she would refer to JC, in which I assume she did not, and was sent right to the leasing agreement, which is fair. I mentioned my concerns, and how I have met the grounds of terminating my lease, and asked when I could come in to chat, and since we could not do this peacefully, I would need legal support by my side. I was Immediately hit with terms like "allege" and "jargon", I guess in her attempt to end the conversation. Maintenance team is great though! Although respectful, I am over it. read more

Lived there for a year, was good at first. Then water bill problems, bug problems, car break in problems, the pools are closed every other week, maintenance drags their feet and when they were they to fix something, I had to listen to their phone call on speaker. I could go on and on. Stay away. All the office workers and management have been changed and they will not help you at all! read more

dogs bark around the clock and no matter how many times you complain, it never gets resolved. "Hot" Water temperature in the showers is a joke. My apartment building constantly smells like weed and the walkways inside the building are filthy and prone to cockroaches. During summer, wasps swarm outside the patio areas. There have been numerous robberies and police incidents. My credit score is good and I still had to pay a month and a half for a deposit. And they rob you when you move out as they require a 60 day written notice so if you are unaware, they charge you the increased month-by-month price for the last month that you aren't even there! There are much nicer places around for cheaper! read more

Connor and Shanell*, at the front office are always respective, polite, attentive and full of energy. Whenever I have an issue (it's not often) they are taking notes and within 2-3 business days (depending on the urgency) there is an update. When I moved in over a year ago (prior to new office staff), the front office was horrible. My move in process was a horror. When the office team switched, including the above mentioned and their boss, my issues were resolved timely. Whenever you walk in the door, you are addressed with intention (not a sad, hello). In my opinion, the front staff makes a difference when it comes to renting. read more

This used to be a great place to live but now it's becoming unbearable. The maintenance crew is very inexperience they are rude whenever they do make it to fix a problem they will.be on personal calls cussing and talking about Bitches and Hoes in my presence. The trash compactor door have been broken to where you can't operate it so people put trash outside the compactor. Now the compound is filled with rodents and roaches. Every weekend I find myself trying to stuff other people's garbage in the compactor so the rodents and roaches will stay away I DON'T WORK HERE. I put a request in for a blind over a month and some weeks and still no blind. A smoke alarm close to 5 months now Yes I said 5 months and am still waiting. I really miss the old management team where we had Chantel managing the property. She was on top of everything. I love it here but will break my lease if things don't get better read more

This place has had numerous robberies and break ins. They didn't cooperate with the police. It took them six weeks to provide video to the police and the day they needed, was missing. The office is non responsive to the issues. When asked about the robbery, their response is this has never happened before. That in fact was a lie. It has happened and has happened since this incident. People bring in up to 30 guests. They smoke, drink in glass bottles in the pool and hold the grills hostage all day. This company has roped me into renting a brand new apartment with a one a half month free rent promise. Then after charging the highest non-refundable application fee I have seen at any of the places I visited told me I had to give them Two months Deposit(more than $2,400!!! My credit score is average, and I haven't had a late payment since the end of the recession 5 years ago... I also have been with my current company for over 5 years and make a fairly good amount of money. I really feel like they are taking advantage of me and pulled a total bait and switch because they are having a hard time filling the new apartments and need the money. Did I just visit a doctor's office or an apartment leasing office? I've never been to a leasing office that only gives apartment tours by appointment. I've got news for you all, your apartment complex is not superior to the many others in the area so get off your high horse. You all aren't doctors so don't act like 30 minute appointments per prospective resident are necessary. Turning people away who are already there potentially ready to sign a lease upon touring aren't going to come back with an appointment. Instead, they will just use that time to tour other apartment complexes and sign a lease elsewhere. What a horrible way of doing business. You all are losing business! No wonder why you all have so much vacancy. Poor business practices, rude staff, and overpriced "luxury" apartments. This was the worst experience that I've ever had at a leasing office. The staff member that I interacted with was so rude. Very apathetic, cold, and unwelcoming. Leasing office staff should be smiling and hospitable. Rude staff members who don't even bother getting up from their desk to greet you at the entrance gives potential residents a bad first impression since nobody wants to deal with unhelpful leasing office staff during their lease term. Please consider a first come, first served touring policy or at least accept walk-ins when the leasing office is empty, like how it was when your staff member refused to give me a tour. I was able to tour all six other apartments I visited that day simply by walking in, and I can tell you every single one of them are more likely to get my business than you. read more

Nice location and good pricing... however why is the pool closed for over 5 months straight with no notice or communication to residents?! Landscaping around the community is pleasant but too bad dog waste from irresponsible owners ruins it. It also would be nice to have hot water in our shower for more than 3 mins. Visited a friend who lives here. It appears this neighborhood is brand spanking new. Living room is spacious. The kitchen is on the smaller side and towards the back of the living room, so you feel far away from the action if you're entertaining. The guest bathroom is spacious. My only complaint is that the walls are thin, which is going to come with renting a townhouse or apartment. I heard a baby next door crying late at night. That could get annoying after awhile. Not the child's fault. It's the wall's. Overall, I would say this is an above average community. There was also parking available late on a Friday, so that shouldn't be a problem and there is no designated visitor parking. read more

Horrible Customer Service/Not Worth the Price My boyfriend moved in here last December against my advice and I wish he would have taken it. Stood in the lobby for 20 minutes before we were acknowledged and waited an hour for our rep to text rather than show us the place. There are much cheaper and just as nice options along Tyvola, but the move in special was appealing. Living here is nice if you never need help or assistance of any kind. Management is AWFUL. There have been multiple robberies and thefts in the past month to the point where you can't get pizza delivered unless you confirm you're at a certain designation first. There have been no notices or advisory's from management on any of this increase in crime. Their hours are extremely limited and no one will call you back if you leave your number for after-hours service, there is no way to leave a message. Only one pool is open, even on the hottest days. At that one pool, both grills are not even working, they haven't for the past two weeks. I'm visiting my boyfriend for the week and his keep FOB for amenities access hasn't worked since Friday. Maintenance helped us out with access on the weekend as it was 84 degrees and fully loaded with people by 11am this Sunday and the office doesn't even open until 1. While he's at work today, I went into the office to get the key fixed. A friendly girl not only apologized but quickly tried to reprogram the key for me. I walked back to his place and got my pool materials, only to realize once again that the key FOB did not work. I took a walk down to the office again and waited for the attention of what I now know is the assistant manager, Imrah. I explained the situation to her and she asked for my apartment number and took the key. She returned with the key and told me that she could not allow me access as I was not on the lease. I explained the ordeal again and she did not offer any apologies, but once again explained that she would not allow me access and the other employee should not have offered me service earlier. Extremely disappointed because if that were, in fact, the policy, she did not have to treat me in such a dismissive and quite frankly, RUDE manner. When I asked for her name, she first informed me that she was the assistant manager in the very condescending tone. ...while I once again walked all the way across the complex without access to the amenities paid for. People bring in up to ten outside guest and have parties/hangouts on a daily basis with tons of 'banned' glass and even pets by the pool that is never controlled or monitored. We even tried to complain last month but guess what? The phone just rings and getting help is zero to none. As I'm relocating to the area as well, be very aware of the customer service issues in this place. Their prices are in the same market for all the other surrounding places that are also new and must offer better service than this, and hopefully safer. read more

I moved into City Park View South, a BRAND NEW apartment that no one has ever lived in. The very first day of moving in, we realized our air conditioning system was broken in the middle of summer. 6 months into the lease we've realized that the office is unreliable. They never pick up when calling. When they do pick up, they act like we are a waste of time and are super rude. We've had multiple issues and were submitting maintenance requests online since the office staff rudely said to do it online instead of calling or coming in. After waiting a MONTH we decided to go into the office to find out that it was marked fix, which was a complete lie. Turns out they were understaffed and had multiple AC unit issues that were "more urgent than a shower head leaking into the wall." I understand the difficulties of being understaffed, but don't lie and say it's fixed when it wasn't and act as if it was our fault for wanting the issue fixed for what we pay for. Valet trash is a complete waste of money and a TOTAL SCAM. If the trash bag is heavier than 3 pounds he won't take it, literally. If the bag is in the trash can and doesn't come out right away, he'll leave it. Multiple neighbors have complained about how it's a waste of money and time since he won't take it. Pool area is like a wild college party and a daycare at the same time. Kids with floats literally running around unsupervised, dogs unleashed, beer bottles, and random people who don't even live here are always there throwing big grill parties. Also DONT STEP ON ANY GRASS. Literally dog poop EVERYWHERE. They only seem to upkeep the front, so everywhere else is littered with dog poop. I expected a better place for the amount of money rent costs and it being "luxury." But the amenities are only to make the place sound good so renters would be willing to pay. Do yourself a favor and LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

Renters *BEWARE* When my husband and I moved in here, we signed the longest lease term possible. We figured that we would enjoy living here for a long time. Were we ever wrong to assume it would be a great experience! I've lived in dorms and student housing where the residents were more respectful of others and the community. People are always leaving trash outside whether it's junk mail, old coffee cups, party trash or a glass bottle that's smashed in front of my car. The weekend after we moved in the pool was closed due to glass, and over this spring and summer the pool area was shut down again for the same problem. I also have had the pleasure of finding chewing gum smeared on the door or my car. For months on end we have had noisy neighbors that enjoy having parties and find it funny to torment us. The police cannot do anything about the noise and say it is the responsibility of the property management to keep its tenants under control. Unfortunately, there has been no resolution to our noise complaints. We're continually told to document when noise occurs. Property management fails to respond or resolve the issue. I have sent quite a few emails, recorded hundreds of hours of noise all to have nothing done. I am sick of wasting my time documenting what should be my daily uninterrupted life. There is a 24 hour courtesy officer that we've tried to call many times. We have only ever had a response once. The response was at 9 am the next day to say "sorry I didn't have my phone with me". Concern about this missing service has been brought to the attention of the property management. There has been no follow up about the lack of response from the 24 hour courtesy officer. Surely this courtesy officer is paid for his services, and in turn we're paying him by being tenants here. It is just a service that we're paying for and not receiving. There are additional fees that are not discussed entirely upon signing of the lease. The first set of fees appear from Apex Billing Solutions: the 3rd party servicer of utilities. Our monthly invoice includes fees for: water, sewer, trash, valet trash, fixed water/sewer, pest control and bill fee. It's interesting that water and sewer is split into three separate line items, and trash is split into two line items. We've never seen anyone on the property for pest control. The bill fee is unavoidable, and they do not even send a physical bill it's just an email. There is no way to opt out of valet trash. The fees before water and sewer end up being $36.49 per month. Maintenance requests have gone without response on a few occasions now. They have not been emergency issues, but the response time has been much more than their 48 hour goal. We've been told to put all maintenance requests in on the form on the website. We've found that it takes the request online and a visit to the office in order to have a response. The two most recent requests were for the same bulbs being burnt out in the kitchen track lights. My last request for the track lights went in August 9th and there has been no response. Our other maintenance issue has been with our oven. Suddenly one day we noticed that our food was taking much longer to cook. We bought an oven thermometer to verify that there was in fact a problem. Maintenance could not identify the specific problem, and therefore could not fix anything. We still needed an oven, so our workaround has been to set the temperature 100 degrees over the normal cooking temperature. When touring here I was excited to see the great gym equipment and especially the Expresso bike. I was not pleased to find out after moving in that it is not connected online and one of the clipless pedals does not work. The yoga balls are never inflated and cannot be used. Over the winter months the temperature in there was comfortable. Once the warmer weather arrived the thermostat stayed set at about 72 or 73 degrees, which just makes it too hot to work out in the gym. We moved in at the end of August 2014 and expected more development to be completed by now. It would have been nice to have some retail shops out in the front empty lots, but it looks like they've gone under contract at least a couple of times now to just end up back on the market. Renaissance Park has also been a disappointment. Ryan homes is building townhomes out in the back lots. The construction has removed almost half of the mountain bike trails that were part of the park. Anything else of interest is at least a 10 minute drive away. The USPS mail carrier does a sloppy job. There have been multiple occasions that we have received mail for other people, or other people have received our mail. Safety here is a growing concern. Notices have been sent about breaking and entering in apartments and in cars. After a carjacking a police tower was placed on the property, so now it looks like a Wal Mart parking lot, but at least it appears something is being done about safety. read more

I would not even consider living here f I were you! I'm trying to save as many people as I can from this place. If you want your car damaged and broken into and your things stolen then sure move in to City Park View... if you want your garage broken into also, then this is the place for you. If you want a management staff who couldn't t care less about the nonstop break ins then by all means, live here. Honestly we had to leave and break our lease early bc of the dangers of living here. Our very nice car has over a thousand dollars of damage.... the management didn't even get back to us about it... we broke our lease and had to move. Immediately after we left we received threats that our unpaid balance for lease termination would be sent to collections within 30 days of not paid in full. We don't even feel we should owe that but of course we're trying to pay it to avoid collections. They are unwilling to take payments of any kind. So they are trying to ruin our credit and we still have to pay for the damage to our car. This place is a complete disgrace. Please don't go through what we have had to go through. read more
