Moved here and it's a cute little town located in Central Valley by Hwy 33 and I-5. About 85% farmland, 10% residential, and 5% shopping/food... we usually go out to Newman or Los Banos to do any weekend shopping. It gets super windy here in the fall/winter, and swelteringly hot in summers. Small police force, so crimes are somewhat common. Crimes. Residents seem more pleasant and kind than back home in San Jose, which is a nice surprise. It's definitely a slower paced city than most. So far, Gustine has treated us well! read more

To the attention of the Postmaster... First, we don't like…read morethat, sometimes, packages get crammed in our mailbox. One time, I had the worst time wrestling a package out of our box. That hasn't happened for a while now. We hope it never does. Second, we don't like that only packages are brought to our door, but not the rest of our mail. We realize that it's because of time use, to maintain efficiency. Still, it would be nice if everything is brought to our door. Third, it would also be nice if our mailbox was moved to our house. Our health issues make it a challenge to get our mail every day. The traffic situation adds to that challenge. Sometimes, we have to wait a little while. Then, there's the weather. People don't like getting their mail in bad weather. We're no different. Still, it's an efficiency issue with your policy. Fourth, placing policy before people is not a good way to conduct business, as far as we're concerned. You have to answer to those above and try to be fair with everyone. Too much policy might scare people away, but all businesses set policies for themselves and the people they serve. No business and nobody is ever perfect. Lastly, I've received great service with the clerks at the front desk. Every experience was great. Thank you for your time in reading this review.

Again, the selection was impressive. The shelves were nicely spaced out with librarian picks interspersed on spaces at the end of the shelves- great classics and some notable contemporaries. This library has its sh*t together! Free wifi here, too.

They also did a 21 gun salute for my dad which was really nice. Sometimes when you come in they have all the flags being flown which is pretty nice. There is also a Korean War memorial wall with my other grandmas brother's name on it that I found. He passed away in combat and it was really touching to see his name on the memorial all these years later he was not forgotten. I'm sure my grandma would have loved that.
