The dinner menu options we chose came with two sides and even our sides were delicious. Our server was kind and attentive. We didn't wait too long for our food. Best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The crawfish gravy goes really well with the cheesy grits. Shrimp was well flavored. Crawfish poboy sandwich was also delicious. I have eaten here several times. The service is good and friendly and well informed. The lunch specials are price well and have good portions. All I have ordered were good. They close after lunch at 2:00 and open back up at 4:00 for supper. This is a little irritating because I got there at about five minutes till two one day and was informed by the staff they were closed until four. Avoid at all cost! When I travel, I try to eat at independent, local restaurants and sometimes this practice this comes back to bite me. The ambiance is grim, service hostile, presentation bleak, and food inedible. "Surf and turf" was the thinnest possible cut of overcooked steak served in a pool of its own juices with a meager couple of skewered shrimp lying on top of it. Dishes were cold and sauces congealed. Finding this location was a bit of a chore. Its located in a small parking lot with a ton of potholes. Walking into the establishment didn't earn any points for me. I travel quite a bit and know better than to judge a book by its cover. We were greeted quite swiftly by hostess. She sat us promptly and our drink order was taken. I was rather impressed with the amount of people inside the establishment. Reading through the menu I decided to go with a Ribeye. Service was fast and they cooked the steak to order. I got a medium rare which for some reason is the hardest level to get done right. This medium rare was perfection. Nice sear on the outside, pink on the inside with a tiny bit of red in the very center. The steak is definitely marinaded so if you're a true salt and pepper steak lover you may not enjoy it that much; however, give it a go. This place was delicious and the price is phenomenal. We found City Limits after the ECC's graduation. They were bombarded with a full house all at one time. You would never know because they were awesome! Seated quickly, served quickly, and never had to look for our waitress! The crawfish tails are to die for! My ribeye was the best I have had in a long time! This place is a little hard to find, as the GPS said it was in the Walmart parking lot, and they don't have a big sign out front to grab your attention. The wait staff was cordial when we did finally find the place. The menu had a variety of items, and we had trouble deciding what to try. Most of the items had a local flare, such as cajun seasoning and fried crawfish. We ordered a few appetizers, two main dishes, and then some kids' items. The appetizers were great - cheese balls and fried crawfish. The hubs got the crawfish ravioli and raved that it was delicious. A tad pricey for the eight or so ravioli, but again, it was great. I got a cajun grilled chicken with steamed veggies, and the chicken was cooked perfectly: seasoned well and juicy. How can someone rave about steamed veggies, you're thinking? Well, I can. I believe I actually remarked "these are the best veggies I've ever eaten." They may have been coated in buttery heroine or something because I devoured them. My only drawback was the kids' items. They were a tad pricey for the size of what they received. A small bowl of mac n cheese was tasty, though. We'd return if we were in the area. read more

my food is always great! I order my steak rare so it's hard to mess up but it's always perfectly made, loaded baked potato is awesome and the salad is to die for, the home made ranch dressing makes it.. Some times my service isn't wonderful (it gets a little busy) but most days management is walking around filling cups and making sure the tables are happy. I've only had one problem in the last six years and it was just a bad attitude from the server but the owner went above and beyond to fix everything and I've returned Atleast once a week since then! even though the meals are not cheap they aren't too costly, def worth the money in my opinion read more

They have lunch and dinner. Lunch is ok. You can order of the menu or order the special. The most frustrating issue is the service at lunch. Now at dinner, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night they have a great special that is extremely abnormal for small town Mississippi. Two Friday's ago I had a pasta, spinach, chicken thing. I have no idea what it was called but it was good enough that I ate some of it, carried it home and had some for lunch the following day. THEN my teen son finished it for me. Been dining here for 14 years now. Over the last two years there has been an overall decline in all aspects. The portions have gotten so small. The quality of the food has become poor. The staff have become rude and lazy. After several cordial complaints over the last 4 months. I was only once apoligized too. More recently my waiter gave me my check and laughed said..if I were you I wouldn't come back if you're gonna have a complaint every time. Turned and walked away laughing about it. I asked for the manager. He came and said the waiter should have not said that. Did apologize for the staffs behavior. As a slap in the face he offered my next meal there free instead of taking care of the horrible meal I had just received. Btw. Well I have been here twice the first time I ordered the Roast for the lunch special the serving was extra small (child like portions) and the roast was not that flavorful and the presentation belonged on a Generic dog food commercial. The second time I ordered a grill chicken salad because I actually heard that they had a great tasting salad...well I didn't get to taste the salad that I ordered so I'll take their word for it! I was immediately disappointed in my salad because it was sooooooo small and the price was $8.50 and I have eaten at restaurants in 47 of the United States and the price of that salad was ridiculous for a hand full of lettuce, 1/4 of a tomato, half a chicken breast, and a sprinkle of cheese! You can get a salad triple in size for a $1 more at Ruth Chris steakhouse and you can get endless salad and soup at Olive Garden for $6.99! It's basically highway robbery or small town robbery a small city with a median income of 20k the people are being overcharged to eat I usually don't even give bad reviews ...but I asked nicely for a little extra salad or a full refund! The server said well let me go get my manager with an attitude ("Is it that serious??") and two people came out;a lady who looked like she sucked a lemon right before she came out and maybe the head chef who was basically saying their "prices have always been the same for that amount of salad and looking at me like I SHOULD KNOW BETTER" you damn right!! I know better and I know I'm being over charged especially at an establishment where my warm greeting and smile was not returned and the atmosphere was as welcoming as a jail visit, with a mediocre looking diner/cafe establishment that needed a spot check and the floor desperately needed sweeping! Very nice little restaurant. Despite the strip mall exterior, it was a nice place. On a Saturday night, there was a birthday party going on, and the place was packed with locals, always a good sign. It's a homey type of place, with collections of old family photos on the wall, and they make you feel like part of the family. The service was exceptional. Our waitress kept checking to make sure that everything was all right, and the manager visited our table several times as well. The menu offered a number of steak and seafood options, and the prices were all reasonable. They brought some really nice home made rolls to start the meal, then brought out a great salad that was really tasty. All of their dressings are homemade. My wife and I both choose the 8oz rib eye, for $12, and it was a nice cut and properly prepared. It came with a choice of sides, several of which were appealing, but the large, fully loaded baked potato was what we picked, and it was great. When I go back, however, I may have to try the shrimp and grits. read more

Lacks consistency with quality of food. Basically depends on who's cooking that day. There are certain dishes that I steer clear of because they are terrible every time I've ordered last couple of years. One being the beef burgundy tips. The chicken taco salad has always been good although I usually have to remind them to put the tortilla chips on it. Steaks are usually okay but thin. They put a salt/pepper/garlic powder seasoning on their fries which gives them a sweet flavor I don't care for. I personally don't care for any of the pasta dishes except the Wednesday lunch spaghetti special which isn't wonderful but still not bad. They do have GREAT sweet/unsweetened tea though! read more

Went to City Limits last night, was very disappointed. We ordered an 8 oz rib-eye and a piece of bologna would have filled me up more. My spouse ordered a cat fish plate, he got 2 small pieces of fish, a small potato, and a salad and there was not enough food to feed a child never mind an adult. Service was not good either, walked in was greeted but had to wait for the young ladies to finish their conversation before we were seated. One young lady chewing her gum reminded me of a cow chewing its cud, very unprofessional. The prices were high for the low quality of their food. I will not return to you facility and nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. You need a revamping of your interior also, it looked very old and dirty. read more

Me and my boyfriend went in November 2011. We didn't want fast food so we took a change on City Limits. The outside looks like an old gas station/garage but we were pleasantly surprised when we went it. There was a homey atmosphere with very nice wait staff! Nice decorations and it was CLEAN! They had chrisitan music playing overhead which was relaxing. I got the fried shrimp and loaded baked potato, side salad. The dressing was homemade and the shrimp was AWESOME!. My boyfriend got crab/spinach ravioli which was DIVINE. I dont eat crab and spinich but I LOVE IT!! For dessert, we shared a fried ice cream type thing that had torillas sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and chocolate and strawberry drizzled over it. It was excellent. Wonderful presentation and it reminded me of a swanky restaurant with a down home feel. The manager came over and greeted us and the wait staff as well all knew their food was great but not in a stuck up way. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I want Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive-ins and Dives to come check this place out! We are going again this weekend and we can't wait!! read more
