I always leave with a horrific headache after a couple of hours in an enclosed space with the high pitched squeals of sweaty children having far more fun than is good for them. However, the silver lining to these places is the guaranteed time off resulting from the muckle nap small children will need shortly after visiting. It makes that couple of hours all worthwhile and keeps me coming back and happily handing over money. Bubbles Factory is purpose built and a really good soft play. The cafe area is clean, bright and appealing and the soft play area is well maintained and adored by big and small children alike. On this visit I ordered a coffee and empire biscuit for me and a cheese sandwich for puff. It is worth noting that a wait for food is usual but since everything is freshly prepared and there is plenty to distracted impatient children this hasn't ever been an issue for us, even on really busy rainy days. The coffee isn't brilliant, it's a machine rather than proper espresso and they do loose a star for that - proper good coffee would make me much happier here! But the empire biscuit and the cheese sandwich were very good and since puff went on to sleep for a mammoth 3 hours following our visit I'll be going back.

Thanks to David A for organising this awesome UYE as part of the Festival of Firsts. We visited Jurassic Parrr on a cloudy/sunny Saturday to take on the challenge of 18 holes of dino-fun times. But first, we needed to conquer the cafe. There's lots of outdoor seating and comfy couches inside. We ordered at the counter after locating a menu - I went for a baked potato with ham and cheese. At a whopping £5.50 I was less than chuffed at the price but needs must - I would've definitely had a tantrum if I was required to mini golf on an empty stomach. The topping was great - more like gammon than ham, and lashings of cheese. The potato wasn't great though, a little dry. The outside of the potato was super crisp and yum, so I just scooped out most of the middle and ate the topping and skin. Onto the golf: it's £7.50 per adult and for that you get a putter, ball, and a score card. It's probably best to play in a group of 4 and so we split into two groups. There's some pretty cool holes along the way but it would be loads better if there was a bit of an upgrade and more novelty elements. All in all though, it was a pretty fun way to spend an hour or so, and I'd go back in the future.

We generally enjoy playing mini golf and a themed mini golf park makes it just that much more enjoyable. We really enjoyed that this particular golf course takes into account 3 of our senses. You get the visual from the environment, the giant dinosaurs (some of them moves), the cave, the water, etc. They have speakers with growls and nature type sounds, it even smells like fire. Plus, they have an app to take down scores and as lovers of new technologies, we really enjoyed having the option to go paperless. The only downfall, was the small amount of "unusual" holes. There was only 3 or 4 holes which were directly linked to the theme, the others were just the usual plain holes you find in most mini golf courses (and not overly challenging at that). we really enjoyed our round, but we wont be going out of our way to go back again.

First off, it's huge - an old industrial unit. The ceiling may as well be the sky. Space is very well used with a couple of activities I've not seen in other play places - such as the stretched fabric space tent climbing activity. You have to see it to understand! The soft play area is a large U-shape surrounding an event area and small go-kart track, with one section set aside for the much smaller / toddler age range. Wall paintings are *staggering* and enormous. The decor goes all around the building, including the toilets (which are kept fairly clean - and it's good to see two baby-change units in the gent's loo). Party staff were great, very engaging and listened to the birthday boy's wishes and his cake was wheeled out by Woody from toy Story! Other staff were friendly and wandering around keeping an eye on things in general. Food prices are the usual escalated range you expect from these places - an adult burger with chips is around £7 and a kid's meal with a drink £4.25. Overall, impressed. If you're sitting in a seat waiting while the young ones work up a sweat, take a jumper. Especially first thing on a cold morning, it can get a little chilly.

It's open til 6pm every night so is great for an after nursery/school activity too. It's situated right behind the bingo at the Forge and has its own car park. This can get really busy at the weekends though, but there are plenty of places you can park only a short walk away. This soft play is reasonably priced. At under £4 for toddlers, this includes the larger soft play area too. The area has a castle theme with murals of princes, princesses and knights all over but obviously play areas are the star attraction for the kids. This one boasts an under 3 area with large ball pit and soft play slides, a larger soft play area with loads of activities and a pay as you go motorised bikes area. There are also party rooms, dance machines and a couple of kiddy rides. The soft play does really well at catering for all age groups, although they can be a bit lax at times with dealing with older children being a bit rough in the toddler area when there are babies in it. The bigger soft play area does really well to accomodate toddlers from around 2 upwards. My son absolutely loves it and has no fear conquering the big slides or climbing the soft play stairs. Parents are more than welcome to go in with their children too if they feel like it. Or more likely, when your child makes a mad dash for the highest level when you utter the words "home time..." There's a canteen area for parents to sit in while their children play and for under £2 they'll bring you a healthy plate which includes breadsticks, fruit, veg, cheese snacks and a packet of pom bears. They do all the usual canteen food too including chips, pizzas, burgers etc and all for a reasonable price, though I've only ever had a drink while my wee one's been playing. The staff are friendly and chatty for the most part and if you're there when it's particularly quiet they'll usually come up and have a wee chat with you. There are a few soft plays in the east end, but this one is always the one I end up coming to, almost automatically. It's a great way for a little one to spend an hour or two and the welcoming staff mean it's not all that bad for the grown ups too.

The only drawback for me with this place is that as it is so big, if you are attending with toddlers you really can't sit back and enjoy your coffee while you watch them play. However, there is a great variety of play options for a wide age range. On weekdays there are lots of extra toys and little ride in cars and scooters for the toddlers. Sadly these aren't out at the weekends (I guess it is too busy at the weekends to make this feasible). Also watch out for an increase in the entrance fee at weekends, though this seems to be the case at other soft plays too. The cafe has a great selection of cakes, traybakes, snacks, breakfast and lunch options too. We have only ever had coffee and cake, but this has been lovely. Any time we have been the facilities have always been clean and maintained to a good standard. The changing facilities are spacious and well maintained also. For the older kids there is lots to keep them entertained also, the highlight being a 20ft drop slide called The Warp Drop... Not sure I'd be brave enough to try this one though! I really like this place and my two year old has a ball here. Though for this age group I would recommend attending early before it gets too busy, especially at the weekend !

The soft play area is a decent size, and for 3 year olds and up is great with lots to entertain them with all the usual soft play equipment for clambering over, sliding down... There is a small area cordoned off for younger toddlers. For me this was a bit of a let down. My 1 year old is too small for the bigger soft play area, but this cordoned off area had very little to entertain her and was too small for her. The seating area for coffees and lunches has a good capacity, but the tables and chairs are densely packed in to a relatively small space, meaning it felt a little cramped. The food itself was OK. I had a sweet chilli chicken wrap but the chicken was processed and artificial in texture and taste. The portion sizes were generous and the little ones were happy with their meals of macaroni cheese and hot dog and chips. I wouldn't rush back to this soft play until my youngest is closer to 3 years in age, but for the over 3s this is not a bad soft play at all!

It's insanity squared and multiplied by infinity.. with ice cream around it's face. Plonked in a wee unassuming patch in fair Partick, the exterior of this joint lies. It's a darn durty lie. For behind the single door lies an epic sprawling area of soft play and what feels like a land of marshall law. Kids rule here. Parents can be found covering in corners supping on quadruple espressos, rocking back and forth muttering something about the apocalypse and how nice it might be right about now. Oh please dear reader, please do not take this to be a negative review or indeed that I don't love spending time with my kids. Please just show this review to a parent and see if they begin nodding and a tear forms at the side of their eye (or both). It serves food. It has seats, it's a little rough around the edges, but that's never a complaint you'll here from a 3 year old as they whip through the place dressed as a princess on a Peppa Pig trike with chocolate stains around their mouth and devilment in their tiny little eyes.... the apocalypse could be nice right about now

Comparing it to somewhere like like Wonder World is always going to be a tough gig, basically this place has it's pros and cons. Pros: - serves a good cuppa and at £1 for a large mug is cheap! - wide range of toys, from ride ons to trucks to giant dance mats for kids to play with on top of the soft play area - breakfast rolls looked good (I never tried one) but all are under £2 - lots of seating (& highchairs) including a few comfy if worn couches - staff are lovely Cons: - smells a bit damp (I feel a bit blurgh just writing that but I really put me off) - areas of the soft play are really quite worn out & in need of replacing - some of the toys need cleaned or binned! - there are signs everywhere in relation to food - they don't like you bringing your own food in, totally understand this when they sell food, but show me the parents of a small child who don't carry bribery snacks?? And when your child insists on eating that exact thing are you supposed to leave? All in all this place is pretty okay for the entry fee charged. I can't help but feel it could be improved quite easily though with a bit of care and attention.

Even so, it wasn't as hot as I'd expected so our winter jumpers were OK, minus coats of course which we left in the car. The animals and birds are well looked after with lots of space to move about in and seem very healthy and happy. The best experience was the 'animal handling' session there are several per day, the last being at 4.30pm. We were the only people on that occasion and were delighted to 'meet' and hold a corn snake, fat-tailed Gecko and tree frog. Our thanks must go to Kevin who brought the animals to us, explained about their lives and habits, and knowledgeably answered all our questions. He's a real credit to Amazonia. I think the way that this (and other similar) places are advertised under 'kids' activities' is totally wrong because it may put off a lot of adults who would find it totally absorbing and fascinating. Children these days have a tiny attention span and lose interest extremely quickly (as a previous reviewer said). I saw a couple of kids around the age of 8 or 9 chasing each other about and playing hide and seek instead of looking at, and being enchanted by, the animals. Obviously there would be exceptions to this rule and I'm sure some children would get a lot out of this experience. However, I think it should be marketed more for all age groups so that adults with an interest in rainforests and the creatures that live there would be more inclined to go and I am convinced they are the ones who would get the most out of the visit (as we did). There's a little shop where you can buy toys and a few other things. It was disappointing that they don't offer Amazonia T-shirts, mugs, pens or other named merchandise. Our only other gripe is that we found Amazonia difficult to find from the road which runs round Strathclyde Park. The signposts alongside the road are tiny and difficult to read. However, that aside, it was a totally wonderful experience and highly recommended!!

But it's quite expensive for the range on offer and it didn't keep 2 kids captivated for more than 45 minutes. There's an extra charge for handling which is also charged to parents even if only the children are handling.
