I tried City Image for a men's haircut and they did not disappoint. It was a full house at 9AM on a Saturday. Despite that we started promptly at my schedule appointment time. I had Josh who was personable and thorough. He was thoughtful enough to ask a lot of questions to make sure I got what I wanted. They have a rewards program, online scheduling and four chairs. The price was reasonable and the place was clean and well kept. This was a good experience in my opinion. I'd go back for certain. read more

I got my first haircut today here with Omi. I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was from start to finish! And best of all, I got the best short haircut of my life. Omi is a true professional and very detail oriented. He took his time because he knew I was a bit of an unusual case both for having very fine straight hair and also wanting a look that was not too masculine while still being very short. Rich was the barber/stylist who cut my hair. I got a really solid cut. He understood what I wanted and that's exactly what he delivered. I got a hot towel shave too, so you can get that real barber shop type of experience (minus the lollipop). I walked out of feeling pretty nice, and I was happy with the way I looked. The shop itself looks brand new inside, and it's very clean. Great place! You get your haircut by a professional without having to go to a salon full of chatty, and often snotty women and the incessantly irritating noise from hairdryers. They have two TVs while you're waiting, and I'm glad I found this place. I'll be back for sure. read more

Don't go there without an appt. Waited 45 min+ and just kept getting pushed back. Had to walk out. No haircut can be worth an hour of anyone's time. Too bad bc 1st time I got a real nice cut from dude in the back. But I'll most likely not go back... ever. Owner got back to me to apologize. Gotta Respect that. Initial 1 star was knee jerk reaction. 1 star service 5 star cut. 3 is fair I guess. Good thorough cut when I went that 1 time. Respect goes out for caring about what customers think. Gave this place a try. But this place is terrible. Walked in with my son. Getting a cut. I needed a appointment. What barber shop needs an appointment. WTF. Took hours for two haircuts!!! Guy was so slow that an old lady can walk faster!!! And the cut was terrible. Hair was lop sided. Had to go home and the wife fixed it. My son was not happy either!!! The guy had to go out for a smoke between cuts! It's not a gentlemen haircut place. This place is from the hood!!!! 20 bucks for a hot shave. That's ridiculous. Won't go back there again. Loved their shop in Little Falls. I switched over to their newest location in Oradell because it was more convenient for me. I love this place just as much. I've been getting my haircuts here for over a year. The shop is well run. The barbers are really friendly and approachable but most importantly, these guys know what they're doing!! I always get my haircut from Izak, (who does an amazing job by the way) but I've gotten cuts from Mike and Ryan and they both did a good job as well. I'm confident in the fact that if I forget to make an appointment and need a quick haircut, that I can go to any of the guys and i'll be satisfied with the outcome. The complimentary coffee and free wifi do help should I have to wait a little bit. I highly recommend both of their locations, you won't be disappointed. read more

I missed my 9 am appointment at city looks so i was a "walk in". I then had to wait over an hour and told the person in charge I had to go and would try to make a appointment for another time. They made absolutely no attempt to apologize for this inconvenience. I now have to rush to a job looking terrible. I am so disappointed with this service because I have been going there for a few months now. I really enjoyed there attention to detail when it came to haircuts but I will never be going back. Having moved from the city it was difficult finding a barber and/or a shop that I am comfortable with.The staff at city looks are a knowledgable bunch that are also very skilled barbers.The shop is beautiful it looks and feels very professional while still giving you the culture and community that your neighborhood barbershop has.Sometimes there can be a little bit of a wait but I don't mind because I know once I am able to be seen my hair cut will be very sharp, also busy is good who wants to go to a barbershop that no one will go to. read more

I've been a customer of City Looks since the 1st location was opened and was living nearby. About 2 years ago I moved near the newer Oradell location, and have been a regular there. They are great barbers no matter who you use. You may have to wait a little bit, but well worth it compared to another barbershop a few miles away which you may wait hours for a haircut. I went to city looks barbershop for a haircut. I sign in as a walk-in. I was waiting for 2 hours while there was barbers sitting in there chairs doing nothing. I asked one of the barbers if he can cut my hair the barber responded back and told me he was on his break.. I asked the owner and he told me he can cut my hair but someone else has to do my beard. Just was made aware the location lost their best barber (Mike). A business is only as good as the people that work there. I've gotten a haircut from all the barbers at least once and Mike was by far the best. I'm sorry the establishment lost him and I will take my business elsewhere. My 1st time at the shop last week before Labor day weekend 2014. I booked my appointment over the phone however they also take online appointments. City looks barber shop is clean and has a great atmosphere. MY first priority is cleanliness, schedule appointment and hospitality. Some barber shops can be very disrespectfully and even make clients wait 20 mins after booking an appointment. This place can't keep a barber for more then a month or two . Which is pretty annoying when you try them all and finally find someone that cuts exactly the way you want. Also you make an appointment online leave work and go there to find the shop is closed. read more

Great haircuts. The guys here are great and the shop is clean. I go with my son and we both leave looking great.

My first visit my hair was pretty long and needed quite a bit of cutting back. Josh chopped away with thinning shears even though my hair is thin enough. In the end, it came out even enough but too short for me. I tried again a second time with specific instructions to just trim and clean up. Before I could say anything, out come the thinning shears again and Josh used them practically down to the roots. My hair was sticking up all over for over a month. Felt like a bad haircut from when I was 6. I don't think he knows "Gentleman's Cut". Seems all they can handle are electric razor buzz cuts. I've since gone to Sport Clips. Is there a 0 star for this place! How does a place like this cuts kids hair but is totally disconnected to the child sitting on the chair. My son was so uncomfortable from the cut hair sticking around his neck and was begging to get the cape off so he feels better. The barber refused first saying it looks unprofessional. Hah! I think that is why this place is called City Looks, customers don't matter, only how the shop looks. I knew this place sucked as soon as we entered coz all the 3 barbers did not even say hello. My son got an incomplete haircut coz I cannot stand the barber being so unhappy cutting my 6 year old's hair. The barber can't seem to understand why the boy cannot sit like an adult. Oh yeah, kids who act like kids are not welcome in this place.This barber should be cutting grass and not hair so he does not have to put up with children's behavior. Worse, I have to pay full for the bad cut. What a rip offffffff....... ! And I don't even know this barber's name coz he violated customer service rule # 1: introduce yourself and smile. I had high hopes for this place after trying a few others in the area and not having much luck for my son who likes something a little different when it comes to his hair. I have no doubt this place can do a straight cut well. However, my son had nice think long hair and he just wanted a trim and to have it sort of fashionable and his hair was really butchered. I really don't think the barber understood what he wanted though when I tried to explain he said yeah, I got it, and kind of shooed me away. Then he proceeded to do nothing close to what we asked for. Not only did he cut way more than we wanted, but it is totally uneven all around. The bangs look like a 5 year old cut them they are so uneven, and one side burn is long and skinny and one it short and fat! There are some layers on the top that are chopped so unevenly that just looks embarrassing. I can't tell you how upset my son is. I gave this review two stars instead of one because the seem nice enough and maybe we just got unlucky with the barber we had and the others are better? In any case, we won't be coming here again. read more
