Walk…read morearound and take a good long look at the pieces on display and you start to appreciate the subtle but distinct difference between cost and price and value. Came in the first time on a lark: stopped in town for a nosh and a sweet after looking at a trailer up the road a piece and on my after-luncheon constitutional I happened across this trove of treasures. Looking through the glass I spied more and better items than I've seen in my wanderings of late; even those items that run contrary to my tastes are appealing for their substance if not their styling. I stepped inside half looking for a bright wall sized piece for the living room and found everything else instead. Jeff and I exchanged pleasantries and a few adjectives as we discussed the variety of items and how this all got to North Carolina. Turns out that the items in store come from clients across the country with the possible exception of the upper plains. Urns, vases, and statuary; period furniture and screens; silks, oils, prints and water colors... capturing all manner of subjects from wood ducks to orchids to the human form. In a blow molded world with press board bases and faux finishes Stately Homes houses an assortment of enduring and endearing objects. Yes, it is someone else's stuff, but I'm not sure how that's even a thing.

Fortunately, I dropped in at Bare Furniture a number of years ago. I was anxious to determine what…read moremust be purchased for a new home. Store owner, Michelle listened carefully, understanding my limited budget and suggested only a few pieces to create the lovely look we wanted in a very unique house. The quality, functionality and pricing of their furniture and accessories are reasonable and service is top notch. Since that time I have purchased several different homes, upsizing and downsizing. My first and only stop each time was at Bare Furniture, confident that Michelle and "the boys" would professionally and personally guide me with home furnishings.

They have a BUNCH of children's clothes that runs the center of the store that's kinda like a yard sale. They have a great selection of books- like a used bookstore. They have furniture and large items upstairs. They have some nice boutique type jewelry in the counter. They also have a large selection of ordinary(but pretty) costume jewelry. They have a lot of dolls above the books in the book room. The art is on a wall upstairs with the furniture. I saw some pretty light fixtures in the back. They had cookware and small appliances. I walked out with a nice piece of elegant vintage glassware for $8. It's worth stopping in!

This is the 2nd time I've purchased from Queen City. What I really like about the experience is…read morethat although the sales people get commissions, they don't make you feel like their decision is based on that. This particular day I went in to see Stephen Bradly who had worked with my elderly parents the day prior; they wanted me to see what they picked out. What I noticed is that my mom (who I get my taste from lol) picked out the more expensive option & she said that Stephen showed her a similar unit that had many of the same bells and whistles but was a little less. She sang his praises and said that he was understanding and knowledgeable with the brands and what they have to offer. Although my Moms mind was set on the more expensive one, she said she will come back to purchase from him because he was so knowledgeable & made her feel like she was making a well informed decision! Thanks Queen City & Stephen for taking good care of my parents!

I want to start this review by saying that my sales person Dennis was great. He answered all my…read morequestions and he was so helpful. The reason that I gave three stars was because the delivery installation was a nightmare. So I ordered a dishwasher an oven a cooktop, a microwave, a trash, compactor, refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. They got delivered and I paid extra for installation for everything They left and the dishwasher had exposed wires at the bottom and would not work. The wall oven is dented around the frame, and the dryer was not working at all either and on the washing machine the hot and cold lines were mixed meaning when I set it for cold for the temperature of the water, it was piping hot and it shrunk some of my clothes. I called to have them come fix those things that weren't working properly or installed properly and they did come back out, but it was a little bit of an issue to get them here. The wall oven is still dented now I have to have GE come out and replace that because they need a whole new replacement for that. The dryer still was not hooked up properly after the second time and again they said it was an issue with the Maytag appliance so I had to wait while they got me a whole new dryer and installed that so three weeks after the initial delivery I finally got a dryer.
