This is one of the most disappointing greasy spoons I've been to. First, there was the double-take when my food arrived. I'd ordered lasagne with chips, imagining I'd get a hearty portion with a mountain of chips, a la Astral Cafe in Horseferry Road. Instead, I was given what at first glance appeared to be a fried egg with a few chips on either side as some sort of garnish. Only on closer inspection did I see that it was in fact lasagne in the most basic possible sense of the word: a very small sprinkling of meat sandwiched between two sheets of lasagne. I've never seen 'lasagne' like that before and I very much hope never to again. And at £5, it has to be one of the worst value meals I've ever had at a restaurant.
On the 'plus' side, the food was edible and not excessively fried. But the stingy quantity, substandard quality and startlingly high price (£8 for the dish mentioned and a couple of teas?!) consigns this place to 1 star ignominy. read more
