Love the early morning spin and Body Pump classes. I'll be trying other classes to expand my experience.

You would think after being a member for so long the staff and club would remember you.. but thats not the case. Its also hard for members to do any events because they never leave registration open long enough for busy people and then shrug when you ask about alternative registration. Seems to they only want your money. Tons of other things have come up but it's a-lot to add. read more

This is one of the best things ever came to Citrus County, I think some of the happiest people work here they are so friendly and nice, patient with each one of there clients. They have very knowledgeable trainers to help you in the gym to show you what you need to do to get where you need to be. Also have experienced teachers in all there classes and not just for the experience people but for the novice, all kinds of body sizes they make you feel like your a part of the class. Like swimming or want to learn, this is the place to belong with a play pool with slides and all kind of water fountains to stand under. For people that are lap swimmer's they have the pool for you even in the rain or at nite, they can open and close the dome over the pool. The way they do children with the neck bands that are color coded so the lifeguards know how well you can swim. Last but still a great thing is the restrooms with great showers and lockers, a spinner for your wet bathing suits! For us older folks the have the SliverSneakers program. I joined this organization nearly two years ago and largely, the facility is just past adequate. The space is too small for the number of members and using any of the equipment in the health center (gym) takes real patience during peak times and during snowbird season. The workers are courteous, but they often get caught up in conversations with favorite patrons and you have to literally flag them down. If you want too use the pool, well that's another story. Yes, the pool is Olympic sized, but during the SCHOOL DAY, kids are brought in to learn water safety. (What happened to parents' accountability in making certain their children got this education?) From 10 to 1 EVERY DAY through the week, kids are there. So you want to try in the later afternoon? Forget it, there is a high school swim team in the fall and some other Y organized swim team in the winter using the majority of the space. With the choice times gone, all you have left are evenings or early mornings. The balance is off. Members pay good money to use a pool and then they are crowded out. I have found this situation frustrating and unfair. Yes, I spoke with the VP and she assured me that the kid program is absolutely necessary. So, in the big picture, the place looks good from the outside in, but once you join, you will find your options limited. read more

Very unhappy today after attending the 9:00 am Water Exercise class at Citrus Memorial Foundation YMCA location. As required I had signed up for this class 48 hours prior. I had no problem but a number of people who regularly attend this class had difficulty! Beth Ann came to the pool at the time the class was about to start and rudely interrupted our instructor and enforced the rule of 30 people max by making people who regularly attend leave the pool! I would suggest that this person learn how to talk to people respectfully! This matter was handled entirely wrong! It would be a good idea to come back on Wednesday at 9:00 am when this class meets again and apologize for her handling of the matter to the instructor and the class! it is also suggested that the problems with the app should have been resolved before implementation. read more

Zumba with Amy is great. Silver Sneakers Circuit class could use a lot of work. Uses a ball and doesn't have enough for everybody and then said the rest use weights and do this. Very confusing. Goes over time limit. Half of class left before she was finished read more

I've been going to this Y for the past year. It is exceptionally clean and I like the selection of activities as well as the classes and use of the gym and pool. This really is a family-style place. I also enjoy use of the hills trail that surrounds the property. read more

I recently joined the YMCA this past summer and picked this gym mainly because they offer child care. All the staff have been very kind and friendly, however the gym has a weird layout. It's very over crowded with cardio machines and all the dumbbells/ squat racks are packed all in the back. I really enjoy doing HITT training and incorporating weights with cardio/ body weight moves, but there's no designated area to do that. It just always feels very uncomfortable and in someone's way. There's a small space in the corner where the med balls and kettle bells are that I use sometimes, but now they have small group classes there making it literally impossible to set up an area to workout. I really want to love this gym because they're great with my son, but I almost always leave feeling like I wasn't able to do my planned workout. read more

I used to work there as a lifeguard for a few years before college. Left on good terms so nothing affecting my opinion. My main concern is the gym, it always feels uncomfortable to workout in. When it first came out I liked the gyms setup but they moved all of the free weights to one section a few years ago and it made the gym feel more crowded than it needed to be. It was right about the time they expanded the gym. If they reverted its setup back to what it used to be I would like it more. They just kept adding machines and removing places to workout without the machines. It feels out of place if you want to do body weight exercises. I always have to look around for a good spot to do them rather than just having a designated spot for them. I end up having to workout underneath the calisthenics pull up area and that can get in the way of people. There's a mat you have to pull out but the only place to put it is next to the fire escape and they put a machine next to that area so you can barely workout on it without feeling cramped. It's clear that all the the people managing the gym care about are the machines and free weights. All I know is I enjoyed working out here before the expansion and then I came back and it felt terrible. read more

We love the Y! We wish we had more time to spend their! Everything from kid care, to swimming laps, and dance classes! It has it all!

This YMCA is fabulous! Kid's area is too cool, it has a huge tube that the kids can climb up and down along with all the other toys. Plenty of supervision is provided. The weight room is impressive with all the different machines and the lap pool and kiddy pool is just gorgeous! The kiddy/ family pool has some unique water features a slide, a umbrella pours out water, buckets that dump water on your head! Water jets that get you wet- it gives the kids (big and small) something to giggle about! It's definitely worth the money to join! Staff is very friendly and informative. Has a nice little coffee nook. The ladies locker room is clean and spacious. The unique aspect of the locker room is the swim suit dryer machine. This machine is actually a spinner! You put your wet swim suit in and close the lid, holding it down and it spins all the water out. It automatically stops when done. Then the YMCA also provides plastic bags that you can put your wet swim suit in and you then can put it in your bag without getting your other possessions wet! Love this! A great place to have fun and get healthy! read more

To start this place has the worst costumer service on this earth they would not allow me to get a guest pass with a printable picture of my drivers license. You could see everything in the picture but they said I needed a copy of my drivers license when that is a copy it makes no sense???? They were not willing to help me out at all and were very rude I will not be going back for a membership they obviously don't care to help their members of corporate! read more
