We've had this insurance company for many years. Our Well failed, in the middle of February, due to a power outage. The result of this was us having to pay almost $11,000 for a new well. We went a week with NO WATER. (No Insurance adjuster came out to our house to inspect)
Due to some "gray area" with our insurance policy, they are telling us that since they can't prove that the power outage froze the pipes to make the well fail, they deny the claim. Even after speaking with the Well company, and them stating what they believe happened with my well. But since they can't prove without any doubt that is exactly what happened, they won't cover it. Like maybe I broke my well in the middle of a power outage just for fun Again, they didn't even send out an insurance adjuster. All my interactions were done over the phone and through email. It's unfortunate to have to pay an insurance company $3000+ per year and when an emergency happens and You need them to help you, AKA their SOLE JOB, they deny your claim and say they, "wish there was something they could do!" The adjuster I spoke with over the phone wasn't even nice about it, ANY OF IT! She was very condescending and spoke down me as if I was bothering her trying to get this claim taken care of. Well, unfortunately for HANOVER, people have choices in insurance companies. There is a reason they have such a low rating on Google and I guess I should've checked that before hiring them to insure my home. I would urge the public to think twice before you use Hanover Insurance Group. Imagine, making their own customers jump through hoops and feel like they are doing something wrong by having to make a claim. It's Amazing how they sleep at night, doing this to good people. What a waste of money! Do not recommend Citizens Hanover Insurance Group read more
