Edited from 5 stars to 2. My original agent was really attentive and communicative. I had his personal email and phone lines to which he promptly responded whenever I had a question. He was even so kind as to let me know when he moved on to a better job. That's when my PKIG experience plummeted. First, I started receiving frequent advertising emails with no option to unsubscribe. My home/auto insurance provider is insanely difficult to communicate with. They send me an obscene amount of paperwork. Although I quickly turn in the information they request, they continue sending the same papers OVER and OVER AGAIN through snail mail. It's PKIG's job to mediate communication between the insurance provider and myself, but they don't do their job anymore. I've also asked them repeatedly who my new agent is, but never received an answer. Fortunately, when I directly ask for something through the general service email address, they do respond and resolve the issue within a reasonable amount of time. It feels impersonal, and because there's not just one agent that might be familiar with me and my policies, I have to explain my entire situation every time. Thanks to the ineptitudes of Westfield Insurance, I encounter the same problem EVERY YEAR upon my policy renewal, so I've had to repeat an explanation of the issue to PKIG for the past 3 years now. If I thought I could get a much better deal, I would switch in a heartbeat. Westfield and PKIG are both frustrating and disappointing. But, is there a really a better option?? Doesn't it seem like everyone kind of sucks these days? ** UPDATE: Maybe everyone does suck, but PKIG sucks the hardest. Contacted them Monday, October 20, 2025 and was told they'd get back to me ASAP. Haven't heard a peep as of Thursday, October 23. Apparently, they don't need my business so I will be relieving them of that burden. read more

I have been working with Mary Lowther a little over a month now, and it has been nothing but a pleasure. She is very professional but has the warmth that makes you feel like an old friend. My parents referred me to her and so far I have referred my brother. I look forward to referring man others in the future. Not only has she saved me a significant amount of money on my insurance policies, but she has found a way to get me more coverage in more areas for less than I was paying at the other company. I used to dread calling my past representative with any questions or concerns, but I never hesitate to call this office. No matter who I speak to, it is always pleasant and they are always helpful. Phil Klein Insurance Group is lucky to have Mary and those other lovely ladies I have spoken with, representing them, and my family is lucky to have the entire Phil Klein family representing us. read more

Jerry Weinfuss and Christina Coffman have provided an excellent level of service to me and my family. They shopped different rates and plans for us, and helped us find the right coverage to meet our budget and our needs. They are friendly, funny, warm people who are very knowledgeable about not only the services they offer but industry standards and practices which helped me understand my coverage needs and options much better. I have had State farm and esurance in the past, and the experience with Phil Klein Insurance Group has surpassed all my previous experiences. I would recommend this team and specifically Jerry and Christina to anyone even considering shopping some new rates. Their process was also speedy, clean and simple. This is a great group of folks to work with - trustworthy, experienced and incredibly kind. read more

I submitted an online inquiry for home and auto insurance last week. Alex followed up the next day and was able to provide a quote that same day based on a short conversation to confirm details of our vehicles, driving history and our home. He was very thorough and made sure that I understood everything so that I could make an informed decision. Alex was also not super pushy with me. In a world where everyone wants you to sign on the dotted line right then and there, it's refreshing when someone actually gives you time to process everything without shooting from the hip. Michigan insurance rates are grossly higher than most of the country so I don't just want to make a hasty decision. So far very happy with my experience with this group and look forward to working with you in the future! read more

I never thought that I would write a review for an insurance company that was positive. This being said, Phil Klein Insurance Group is no ordinary insurance company. Mr. Klein is a small business man who is from the local community. My experience with him and his staff was extremely professional and personal at the same time. I recently had an insurance claim and assumed that I would be treated like I was with previous insurance companies that I worked with. My assumption was wrong.I found that they were very helpful in processing my claim and protecting me when it came to ensuring that I got the entire benefit from my policy. After such a positive experience, I told my family and friends to consider working with Mr. Klein. I highly recommend this company. read more

I was really impressed with the complete process at the Phil Klein Insurance Group. I called to get quotes to compare my cost vs. coverage and I found the response and follow up to be impressive. I decided to go with the team here because I felt like they would provide great service at competitive prices. I dealt with Mary Lowther and she was able to explain the cost of coverage to me helping to set my expectations. I also liked the way she followed up with me. She was never pushy but she didn't forget to follow up either. She is a very polite, competent professional really a credit to her agency. If your not sure what your looking for or think you owe it to yourself to learn what other agencies can do for you I would recommend you contact them. read more

I've never been big on writing review's as one should always expect professionalism from someone in the sales/service industry, yet after my latest experience with Phil Klein Insurance Group, I felt compelled to share my story. Prior to transitioning over to PKIG, I was a long standing member of another agency and was very reluctant to change. I reached out to Mary Lowther as she came highly recommended and I couldn't have made a better choice. She was professional, timely and her qualifications/experience showed. Mary provided me with a level of detail I had not experienced in the 20+ years I was with my previous agency. As long as she is working in the industry, I have no doubts that she will be my agent of choice. Thank you! read more

I recently had the pleasure of switching our Home and Auto insurance to Mary Lowther and Phil Klein Insurance Group. Yes, pleasure. Mary made this a great experience from us and even saved us almost $400 a year!! She stayed on top of all the details to make sure the process was smooth and painless for us. Her knowledge and expertise in the field of insurance was reassuring that our family has the most comprehensive insurance we need without paying too much. She was also just a pleasure to work with. She was extremely personable and friendly. I had lots of questions and she always made the time to answer them all. I have to extremely pleased with our experience and will be referring family and friends in the future. read more

This is a great insurance company and Phil and his staff provide customer service at a level that I never expected. I've been insured with just about every major insurance company in my life but never had agents who sincerely took an interest in my best interest. I had a claim recently and the Insurance adjuster was giving me a hard time. Kim, at Phil's office, intervened and got my claim paid much sooner than it would have been otherwise. She really helped me a great deal! The other thing that really helped me was that they were able to find me a less expensive insurance company. Because Phil Klein Insurance is a broker, they were able to search through several insurance companies to find me the best rates. read more

My experience with PKI was optimal. When my car insurance rates sky-rocketed I needed help and didn't want to waste my time on multiple websites. The online quote questionnaire took less than five minutes and I was emailed quotes from multiple companies. Owen personalized the quote for me and found me a rate even lower than before my recent rate increase with better coverage. I decided to go with AAA and to add on renter's insurance because the process was so easy. I was able to sign the documents electronically. Owen was incredibly professional and helpful. I have already recommended PKI to multiple friends. read more

Christina made my move to Michigan incredibly easy! I had housing drama and went from maybe buying a house to renting to actually purchasing a house all within a month timeframe. Christina was ahead of me every step of the way. Always making sure I was getting the best rate possible. She even took on speaking with my mortgage company so I didn't have to worry about being the middle man. The insurance process with her was truly painless. I highly recommend anyone in Michigan looking for insurance reaches out to Christina at Phil Klein. She is a one-of-a-kind rock star! read more

I have been recently relocated to Michigan from abroad, and I was shopping for home owners insurance with car insurance immediately following. One of my colleagues deferred me to Phil Klein Insurance company, which was the great thing happened to me. Mary Lowther took over my cases, and she was incomparable in terms of customer focus, customer service and last but not least - quotes. She saved my time, my money and my nerves, helping me out in a series of already very complicated matters. I am a 100% satisfied customer and I thank Mary for making this happen! read more

Excellent service. Crystal Bishop has been working with me and my wife and she has done an amazing job. As an independent agent she was able to find me rates that were significantly lower than what I was quoted at some of the big name insurance companies. We are first time home owners in a new state and she explained every part of the process as we went. More impressive was that we had an extremely quick close and needed a policy on our new house with very little notice. She worked all day and got it done for us. I would highly recommend her and this company. read more

This is a great insurance agent. I never really thought there was a difference between one agency or another but this group really takes great care of their customers. I had a claim and instead of causing me problems, the owner of the agency, Phil, went out of his way on a weekend to get me help and make sure my claim was processed quickly. My previous insurance agency didn't help me in any way when I had a prior claim on my home and fought not to pay my contractor (which is why I switched). I highly recommend Phil Klein Insurance Group. read more

They will do everything possible to consider your individual needs and find you the best insurance rates available on the market. Many thanks goes out to Phil Klein group for a speedy, stress free experience. read more

Sue is the best! I was on business travels in Atlanta and right at the end of the day (4:45 PM) I called the Phil Klein team to make some adjustments to my policy, Sue was very professional, she did not try to rush me off the phone, she made sure that what I needed was correct and done, and we share a few laughs. I found Phil Klein while living in Maryland before I transferred to Michigan, they have save us $$$$$. Love these guys, but Sue the best. read more

Owen and team are incredible. They worked with me to find a very affordable solution even though I was moving from California from Michigan and it was not the most ideal situation for them to offer me insurance. Owen offered me to help me on two previous occasions and skipped a lot of steps in the process which I was getting hung up on to help me. I would go back to him again 100%. He found a very affordable solution for me. I couldn't be happier. read more
