And thier…read moreATMS are flawless and over the past 5 years I've only seen one "Out of Order ATM" and no ATM transaction problems with deposits or withdrawals. I also like the Zelle and Arch Bill Payment options. The Bad: Register only goes back a year or two for export to excel. Thier Banking app was updated recently and crashes on my iphone or needs to be restarted almost everytime I use it now. There *seems* to be a significantly longer delay in posting debit transactions to my account over the past few years.. For example, if I pay several bills electronically on Friday morning, they won't appear on my account until Monday, yet I receive an alert from my credit card companies that the payment was processed a day or two before. Same goes for checks I write to businesses or my landlord deposit immediately. It won't appear on my balance for a week or more in some cases now, when in the past they registered the next day.. It almost seems they are hoping customers will overdraft who don't monitor thier accounts closely. I am about to open another checking account with a online bank to compare.

Tried to make a payment…read morethrough BankNewport the payment was rejected because I was short a COUPLE of dollars, so they immediately took a $30 fee. They decide after taking my $30 dollars they would try the payment again, it failed and they took ANOTHER $30. Having tried twice and robbed me of $60 dollars they decide it was a good idea to try again. Can you guess what happened? Corrected it failed again and they took an additional $30 for a total of $90 from an account that had just a few hundred dollars that I need for rent and other expenses. Called the bank was totaled that is their policy to make 3 tries and charge $30 for each time it fails. You tell me who BankNewport is most concerned with? I am moving my account to a bank that ACTUALLY cares about the customer. $90 for a payment that was short a few dollars is ABUSIVE. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!! You have been warned!!

If for any reason there's follow up needed, they make sure confirmation is given. Teller line does get a bit busy during lunch time but they do their best to give alternative options to save you time. I have always come here for my questions, account changes and general banking needs.

    A+ for loan approval process and speed…read more F- for everything else. Applied for a loan and was quickly approved. The issue was, that the check was for more than the vehicle contract amount. As a result, I reached out to see if they could just wire the correct amount to the dealer. NFCU would not wire to the dealer. This makes little sense, as wiring it to the dealer would be the most secure option, and would ensure their security of the collateral. Instead, I was given the option to either request a direct deposit of the original funds amount to my account, then wiring it myself to the dealer or reapply for a new loan of the new amount. They would not even reissue the check for a lower amount. I chose to have the funds direct deposited. WHAT A MISTAKE. The process started on Thursday evening, and funds were finally deposited on Wednesday. At that point, I call in to do a wire transfer. I'm then told that it can't be done over the phone, and that I would have to send it as a secure message. The wire process is now slated to take 24-48 hours... That's pretty unheard of for an institution of their size. Wires are designed to have the money be sent within minutes. All in all, the whole process added over a week of delay to the process. Had I known it was this bad, I would have just reapplied on the phone Thursday night, overnighted the check, and had it by Saturday. NFCU should seriously reconsider their processes. These inefficiencies will seriously turn away newer member. Also, prior to this whole ordeal, the dealer told me that they would accept the check, but that they would have to wait until it cleared before allowing me to pick up the car... seems like they themselves have had to deal with these inefficiencies.
