This branch of the CAB is small and dark and a bit musty, but the staff are very helpful and try to find out as much info to help you with your problem as possible. read more

Birch Hill Community Association

My 10 year old has been going to Youth Club on a Friday night and really loves it. It's on from 7pm…read moreto 9pm every fortnight during term time and is only £1. They are able to buy drinks, snacks and sweets at very reasonable prices and so a couple of pounds spending money is more than enough. The facilities are great, he said they have to stay inside during the winter months but still get to do lots of games and sports. This week he played hockey which he loved. He has also played dodgeball and other indoor sports such as basketball and football. There are a number of board games to choose from including battleships and chess as well as a pool table. Anyone who's in Year 5 and over and from any school is welcome to go along and so it's a good way to meet people and make new friends from other schools. The first time they go you need to fill out a form with contact details together and any other important information. You will be required to confirm who is allowed to collect your child and whether or not they are allowed to go outside (with supervision) when it is light in the evenings. Hopefully enough people will go along so that the club can continue as it's a great place for kids to go and hang out with their mates and it's good knowing they're having fun and are somewhere safe.
St George's House

The consultations fall into three strands: those covering Social and Ethical issues; those for Clergy; and those arranged by external groups and organisations, in keeping with the ethos and practice of the organisation. The accommodation, despite its setting, is comfortable but modest (bedrooms don't have phones or televisions, though there is WiFi) - very much in keeping with ethos of open, honest debate which the institution aims to foster. Catering is very good but similarly straightforward and, as one might expect, staff are discretely attentive and obliging. Attendees may attend services at the adjacent St George's Chapel if they wish.
