I went to this bank because the one closer to my home was so busy! When I walked in, I was greeted right away by Personal Banker Geoffrey Manalo. I was there to resolve a situation with my mother's account. Needless to say, he was very helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. What I thought would be a long process, he cleared up the situation rather quickly so my mother did not have to be in the bank for a very long time. He referred me to the teller (Asian gal - sorry I didn't get her name). She in turn was very helpful in helping me complete my transaction, even escorting me to the ATM machine outside to be sure the transfer went through without any hitches. The banker, Geoffrey Manalo, sitting behind the second desk from the door, is NOT an honest staff as other reviews said. Geoffrey Manalo would lure you into opening different types of accounts or credit cards by NOT explaining important terms and conditions. All he did is to push you to sign the documents. Geoffrey Manalo's work is also very CARELESS. After opening an account, my account has NOT successfully opened for so many weeks but already incurs monthly FEES. With Geoffrey Manalo this kind of deceiving employee, no wonder when I googled on the web, I found "New York State Attorney General Sues Citibank for Failing to Protect and Reimburse Victims". Geoffrey Manalo is the most dishonest staff in this branch. 1) he will pretend friendly in order to sell you products, e.g. new bank account, new visa credit card. 2) the worst thing is he LIED a lot about the terms and conditions. 3) he will NOT disclose any important terms and conditions before opening an account for you. 4) he is not knowledgeable. EVERY minor thing he needs to grab the lady next to him for answer. 5) All he cares is to get more business to meet his quota by lying. I am his victim. I opened an account and now I have to deposit money every month to avoid $15 monthly fee. You cannot maintain a minimum balance to avoid a fee. If I honestly could give negative stars I would. I would never give a bad review like this until today after being at Citibank for almost a year they never tax certified my business account. I have gone in person multiple times, emailed, called and almost sent a messenger pigeon or smoke signal to see if that worked yet till this day guess who is not tax certified..... me and my business account. I swear there are some people there that seem nice but they clearly have an issue regarding follow up or completing a task. I have been banking with Citi bank for at least more than 20 years. Whenever I come to this location & the bank teller whose last name is PHO, rude attitude gives the bank a very bad reputation. She is very impatient, short, her voice is very demanding, dismissing, & the way she looks at an individual with a dagger look if she does not approve of you at all. Today, I have asked if she may be able to tear the papers attached to my bill, PHO said that they do not do that in the office, I am uncertain because previously, after I made a payment, I asked a teller to shred the remaining papers since I do not have time to do it, they readily agree to do it for me, provided I ask them to, but PHO claimed that they do not do that practice in this location! So, I tore those papers & handed it over for PHO to dispose of, PHO had a disgust look on her face & made me think that I was very wrong in asking her to a simple thing like that, took it anyway & threw it but made me feel that I have inconvenienced her big time! OMG! I chanced upon the Manager," Miss Alma", & shared with her my frustrations that I have kept for many years. Miss Alma was go good & nice & has calmed me down right away. I do not know what will come out of this but at least PHO should be made aware that even if she has been with this bank location (with a backer or what that she is still allowed to work there), she is not & will never be good in customer service with that kind of brassy & rude, sassy, unapproachable, unfriendly, unapologetic type of attitude/behavior! So, here I sit again at my branch. I needed to look up something that would take 2 minutes. As I sit and wait for a rep, I noticed that I was skipped over 5 times with people just walking up to these reps or the reps walking up to them asking if they could help them so I no they didn't have an appointment. This pisses me off to no end!!! I also noticed that these reps sit around doing nothing as well. I have now been here 35 minutes!!! Over looked 5 times sitting right in front of them and the one teller who's job is not to facilitate special requests about account matters is trying to help me. Poorly managed and highly discriminating. This branch is not always open during business hours because of management. Arrived at the entrance about to go in, a guy by the ATM machines comes out of nowhere(doesn't identify himself as Citibank staff) blocks my path and rudely asked if I am going to see a teller. He had a Citibank name tag "Gregory". When I replied yes, he said the bank is closed because they were short-staffed and had to take lunch break. I can see there were customers inside and more than one Citibank staff on hand. Other branches would had desk staffs assist customers with transactions. Due to the demographic of its customers, this yelp review won't be seen by any people using this bank. They probably still have rotary phones. This bank, it's workers, (the old lady at the handicap counter) and the manager from Saturday all need various levels of customer service and training. Came in to cash a check on a Saturday. Because of the Labor Day holiday they need to call In because of high dollar amount. Came back Tuesday as instructed. And they can not cash check period because of a non member policy. Asked to see the policy in writing.nothing. That check amount wasn't the issue Saturday. And regardless of being a member of your shitty bank, you guys have a check with money due to me. read more

They aren't closed really. I just went there like 2 3 weeks ago. I asked for a $5000 withdrawal. The teller walked off without saying anything and left me standing. She came back and counted the $100 bills in the most confusing way. When she was done, she did not gathered the bills in one neat stack, instead she expect me to reach out and grab the bundle of $100 bills laid out all scattered on the counter. She did not even offered an envelope so I had to ask for an envelope and she just gave it to me instead of putting the cash in it. WoW what a rude terrible service. And not a single smile was given. Your bill will clear now and two weeks after same bill will either bounce back or will clear again That's why balance on my spreadsheet never the same with them. Every month I will lose $300 - $400, they will say "they will investigate" for how many months now still nothing but stealing money from my account still continues. Slow confused incompetent is the first woods that come to my mind about this branch. This use to be a great branch about 15 years ago.

The first time I went there was to open an IRA CD. The person we were talking to hadn't a clue. She said we had to go to a different branch, which is fine- I get that not all branches can do all things. But she loaded us up with brochures that made it clear she didn't understand what we wanted. Today I went back to open a simple, non-IRA CD. It should have been easy. The same transaction at Stirling took maybe 5 minutes. But after they had all the necessary information for the account, the person helping me (she was the manager) started asking me a lot of questions that were frankly none of Citibank's business. She wanted to know where I used to work. When I balked, she said she was going to need information about my pension as well. I was not allowed to decline to answer. The only reason I can see for questions like that is data mining. Because I refused to answer those questions, she wouldn't allow me to open an account. I just called Stirling - they promised me no b.s. questions and I will hand them a check tomorrow. Citibank bites. read more

I've been with Citibank for 10 years. I honestly don't know why I haven't changed banks yet but after this I probably will. I lost my card November 16. I put a lost/stolen report the very next day. Two days later I received an email starting my card would be arriving on December 2 so I called customer service asking for an expedited card because I couldn't wait that because I had bills that needed to be paid. He told me he could order me a new card but the soonest it would arrive would be Monday November 25 he also told me I could go to the bank for a temporary. Friday went to the bank. 2 tellers and 2 people at the desk. I asked the teller if she could help me get a temporary card she said only a manager can do that and she was a a customer. There was another guy there just sitting playing on his computer ignored me didn't ask if I needed anything just kept on his computer while the manager was still having a non bank conversation with a older gentleman. I waited 20 min told her what happened and what customer service told me about getting a temporary until my card comes on Monday. She made me a new card but not once did she tell me it would cancel the card I was going to get on Monday. So when I received my new card on Sunday yes it came early. When I called to activate me told me that was the correct card and she couldn't do anything about it my card would come in December. Stupid bank! They need more employees and better trained on communication. So now I'm stuck where I began everything is getting cancelled because it hasn't been paid and I'm really pissed!! read more

I would like to high light the superb job that Tiffany .H (Personal Banker) does at this location. I know the bank people are usually trying to sell you CD or have you open their credit card. However, Tiffany has been very client-centered and she has been nothing but helpful to meet my need. She is never pushy. She is very personable yet professional. I can tell she is just a well-rounded down to earth type of person. She definitely goes above and beyond to help you figure out what you need even though that task may not provide her commission. Other bank personnels at this office are also generally polite and nice. But Tiffany H. is the reason why I come to this location!!! read more

Good suburban location, but small parking lot. I love coming to this location because the staff is always friendly and welcome you when you come in. This is my preferred citibank, yes the parking is small but it's good when you need to grab a few bucks before seeing family. Mostly locals come here that is why the staff know everyone by heart they really make you feel like a family. I highly suggest giving this place a try. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and that's an understatement. I went in this morning to cash my check and waited in line patiently for about 10 minutes. The line was long and people were frustrated . I waited in the line that is solely for check cashing customers (Non customers) As I was waiting people that arrived after and I did were being helped. The teller PAULINE POGH looked over at me and said, "I have to attend Citibank customers first then we can assist you". I replied " I was here before all these people arrived" and she said she still could not help me. At this point, I was LIVID. I told her I needed to talk to a manager and she gave me attitude and told me I would have to wait. WTF!? The people that were up next were kind enough to let me go ahead of them. I gave PAULINE my check and she continued to tell the customers behind me that it's policy to help clients that have existing CITIBank accounts. I was frustrated and told her, she needed to move forward and help me so that the people in line could be helped ASAP. She then said she couldn't cash my check because i didn't have my physical SSC.. I explained to her that I've cashed my checks numerous amount of times without any problems. (She was giving me a hard time) Then she says to me rudely, " You don't have a bank to cash your check" If I did or didn't, It was none of her concern. Who the FUCK asks a customer that kind of question? The customers in line SIDED with me. Obviously this was lady was going on a power trip. It's not ok to treat customers like this.. Thank God they are closed. This bank, not the other Citibank, was the rudest bank I know. All the employees there were extremely mean and impatient. They were lazy and screwed me up several times for processing my checks and torn edges and I had to run around begging other banks to cash the edge torn check that they did to me. I have always received good service from the staff at this Citibank location. I haven't been going to this branch for quite some time since I do most of my banking online. But just recently I went in to set up another account. I went in and saw the familiar faces & I was immediately greeted by the teller Pauline who remembered my name & noticed that I haven't been coming to the branch. Her warm welcome really made me feel great coming there. So I told her about my purpose of coming to the branch after a short chat. She walked me over to a banker, Mirav, another very nice lady who's also very professional. She took care of my new account very quickly; explained to me everything I need to know & took care of my transfer to the new account without me going back to the teller again. It's been almost 3 weeks since my visit to the branch, I have already gotten 2 calls from Mirav. She thanked me for the business & to make sure I received my checks, which I did! Love this Citi branch. Not sure why they got bad reviews but my experience is absolute opposite. The staffs are very friendly and i feel welcome every time I'm there. Tiffany had helped me multiple times to waived fees that being charged to my personal and business accounts. Pauline is absolutely adorable. She's very cheerful and always takes time to ask about my family (of course, when it's not busy). It's a five stars service I got here!!! One star for the operations manager even though he deserves none - Michael Mak 5 Stars for CEO's Assistant - Roz and Amber Brown from the corporate office I have been a citibank member since 2004, reason is because the tellers there are really friendly and it just a block away from my house so it is convenient. Two blocks away is Wells Fargo but because i like the staff i always go to this branch which is on Arroyo Drive SSF. There is an islander banker who is really personable and a muslim banker who is always so friendly and go above and beyond to assist. Today was a totally different day though, none of these 2 ladies were there. There was a operations manager whose name was Michael Mak. My trend for last 14 years with citibank has been that every month i go to Citibank, cash out my mortgage payment which is with Wellfargo and pay it there. I am a manager at a CPA firm and we have 2 offices one in RWC and one in SF. Normally i am the one who withdraws the money but there has been times where i have to rush to work and my dad cashes my check. The most i have done this has been probably 4-5 times in last 14 years. Today was one of those days where i had to be in our SF office, the drive there due to traffic is not very conveninent so i gave my dad a cash check for $2800 and ask him to do what he has done in the past, cash it. When he went there the operations manager, Michael Mak was being really difficult and would not honor the check. My dad called me and i spoke to Michael and explained to him my situation that i was in SF, my car was parked in the parking building with the timeline to leave at 5pm because i had not planned for this and i had meetings back to back. I was willing to verify any information and most importantly the tellers there know me in person, i am a regular walk in customers and other managers have handled this request before. He was not willing to listen to anything and his straight answer was NO. Today was Monday and it was a busy day in my office for me too, i got frustrated and told him that i am going to cancel my meetings and come there but i will at the same time close my account. Again he cared less and his response was ok. Despite my frustration i still decided to reach out to the corporate office/ CEO for help. Of course i didn't have the number so i went to the chat line and the representative refused to give it to me, they redirected me to the same branch where Michael Mak was all in control. I googled the number and go hold of the corporate off in NY where i was able to talk to the CEO's (Barbara J. Desoer) assistant, she was totally professional, listened to my request patiently and directed me to Amber Brown. Amber Brown another professional agent did her fact finding and called the branch to find out the Michael Mak was not fully aware of the protocol and it was ok for my dad to go and get the check cashed. I am so grateful to folks like Amber Brown (210 3579592) and Roz (CEO's Assistant) who took the time to listen to me and handle my issue in such a professional manner. I hope the Michael Mak would have done the same but he was too arrogant to even listen. The bank itself is good but the employees can make a big difference. Hopefully the management talks to him and he changes his demeanor in terms of customer service and treats other customers nicely. He should be aware that his personality can make such a big impact on the customers, check your facts first before being difficult. I understand there is a lot of fraud going on and he is probably taking precautions but that doesn't mean he makes life difficult for the loyal customers and force them to go do business elsewhere. If it wasn't for Roz (CEO's assistant) and Amber Brown, i would have definitely closed my account and encouraged my friends and family members to do so to. Thanks to these 2 lovely ladies who came in as my life saver and saved me tons of time driving back and forth and defused my frustration and perception in regards to Citibank. read more
