I am a service member who is in need of a government travel card through Citibank since November and over the past weeks have spent numerous hours on the phone and doing research on what to do and the amounts of time I have been hung up on/changed phone lines with no warning is absolutely absurd. Citibank has the WORST customer service I have EVER had to deal with. Sadly, Im still not done due to fact the military deals with Citibank but if given the option I highly recommend to never use Citi. read more

We have been Citi Gold customer since 5+ years and recently when we visited the branch and wanted to transfer money from my spouses bank account to my bank account we were forced to make a joint account by the Branch Manager. For many years I have been going to the el camino main branch as that was my original branch and in recent past used to visit this branch as its close to my house. Despite asking whether its mandatory the Manager mentioned in April 2026 they will introduced a policy. However we visited in March 2026 and were forced to create a joint account. I hope the branch leadership looks into this. The Teller's have been always helpful. I do not have the name of the branch Manager but it all i can say is this behavior is driving us away from this branch. One of the worst experience you have to go through dealing with your own money. Horrible phone service. Looked on Reddit & many similar complaints. They used to be good. Last year.

-100 stars if it was possible... Not really a complaint about this particular branch but I've been to 10+ branches and it's all the same garbage. Customer service is non existent unless you are very wealthy. Had a hold mistakenly put on my account for a tax hold. Once it was resolved, they absolutely refused to take my money off of hold and even argued with the IRS employee that they needed some kind of proof when they can look it up and see it has no longer been placed on hold. After arguing with them for THREE WEEKS, did they finally get something done? NO! They sent a paper check of the amount TO THE DAMN IRS instead! Such unprofessional service and I don't give a F#%@ attitude from everyone involved. Took me 3 months of continuous struggle and to not even get the $ back in the end because the IRS ended up CASHING THE CHECK ANYWAY... Just over the top unreasonable behavior and I don't feel safe keeping my money with them. The only reason I still have an account is because some of my clients have accounts with them and it's easier to get a check cashed through the same bank... read more

By far the best CITIBANK Branch. Due to my needs I go to the bank at least twice a week and rotate between 3 CITI Branches. WITHOUT A DOUBT, the Pruneridge Branch has been the best. The customer service is great! Recently decided to open additional CDs with the bank mainly because I feel they have my best interest at heart. Every time I walk into this building, I know it's going to be a bad day!!! I've never once had a good experience at Citibank (especially at this location) and I finally came in today to close my account. My Mom and I had to close an UTMA account (mind you, it has $0 in it) and why did it take 30 minutes and 4 different workers? When my Mom tried to close it last week, they told her only I could close it. When I came in today, they told me only she could close it. My Mom called them out and straight up said that SOMEONE here is clearly lying or doesn't know what they're doing. We initially went to the middle banker, Mrs. Joseph, and good god she did NOT know what she was doing! She was SO lost on how to close an account, looking everywhere and waiting for more help when her collegues would say, "Just do this, just do that, it's right there." And we were stuck with her for SO long. She finally printed out the form for us to sign to close the account and mind you, it says ON THE FORM "You will receive a confirmation of the closure of the account." After the account was finally closed, I asked her just in case, "Will I receive a confirmation on the closure of the account?" And she straight up said NO! I told her, "Let me see that form I just signed." And pointed out to her that it literally says it RIGHT THERE that I will receive a confirmation. So many times where she was just speechless or stuck on what to do or say, just staring back. These workers don't know what they're doing and the others could clearly care less if other workers are trained or not. That cannot happen when you're working with money. It honestly seemed like they wanted to keep us there so long and make trouble just so we won't close our account. Good riddance, Citibank! Never again! PLEASE GO TO A CREDIT UNION! So I had to report fraud over 3500 dollers and 65 transactions. They made me wait 60 days. The. Denied me with no refund with out even contacting me. Constermer service is the worse you call. This branch does not take their customer's privacy seriously. I was sitting with a banker in his "office" to open an account and he asked me all sorts of personal questions out loud such as social security, address, etc. and expected me to verbalize my answer. When I whispered my answer it could be heard across the entire building and he still asked me to speak up. He also did not believe that a nurse was a health care professional. This branch needs better sound insulation and real bankers offices if they want their customers to feel safe. read more

Have you ever been somewhere taking care of business when said business has implemented a strange new policy and you ask a probing question to understand it fully when out the blue the customer service person who is helping someone else jumps into your conversation to say something that does not answer your question. Yeah, thank you Mona for jumping into my conversation with Natalie (I believe that was her name) and telling me to go to the atm and how easy it is. BUT my question was why do I have to show an ID if I'm making a payment in cash to my credit card account. So I turned to Mona and asked her that question since she wanted to be so helpful and she said just let Natalie help you use the atm. And she had this "just get her out of her attitude". I told her that wasn't my question and she smirked and then turned back to her customer. Hahaha back in the day a bank would not tolerate their employees popping of at customers like they're on the street corner. This is a business that should have some very basic standards of business and how to deal with customers. She must have missed that meeting. The only reason I have Citibank is because Costco left American Express and trust me - I can't wait til Costco leaves this place. This is the third time I've paid in person and each time it's something else and lol I'm trying to do is pay my credit card. Mona by the way your customer who you should have been helping yelled at you to get someone else since you didn't seem to know what you were doing with him, I'd advise you to either take a vacation or take a minute to reevaluate how you are speaking to customers and why you're getting anger from all directions. They called me 3 times while I was at work. so I called on my lunch and their automated system took 30 minutes to get to a representative who hung up on me right away before even saying a word. So I had to just deal with the stress of people threatening my credit until I could get ahold of them. This was from a best buy credit card and the issue is still not resolved. read more

I called them about a mistake that THEY made with my bank transfer. They transferrred thousands of more dollars than they were supposed to and now they kept transferring me everywhere, calls kept dropping or being hung up on and they wouldn't give me back the amount that they f**cked up. They have heavily accented people doing the transactions too, which makes it hard to understand what they're saying, thus, adding to my frustrations. Few cash tellers are extremely painful . They keep going to bank manager for every small thing . In my case , the check deposit took about 35 mins and in the end was told that the check can not be deposited. In this lockdown " Shelter in place " I had to go to few more locations only to find out they are closed . Finally , the same check was deposited on another Citibank. This branch requires three appointments with them and at least five days for a title change on an account, WITH all the appropriate paperwork. They believe this is "good service". I have been to four other banks with the exact paperwork and been able to accomplish the title change without delay. Terrible service. read more

The staff here are generally pretty friendly and everything here is pretty average and standard for a bank. Nothing too stellar in terms of customer service, account management, etc. but nothing has stood out as awful or in need of pointing out either. The ATM systems here are convenient for me and that is usually what I use when I come here. They are really secure as you need your card to get in to use them when it isn't regular business hours which I do like. It's a lot nicer than just having them outside where anyone can approach you. Overall this is an okay bank that never gets too busy and where you don't have to wait in line to see a teller. read more

This bank is convenient and the staff are pleasant... I like the after hours availability of the ATM system... well lit and seems secure. This location is also near a grocery store, Starbucks and a gas station if you have other errands to run. I don't particularly care for the 'how was your service?' phone call I receive a day or two later after transacting business at the teller window, but that's not any fault of this location -- Citi corporate is just annoying sometimes. read more

Just letting everyone know DO NOT use CITI Bank ever! They are very invasive! They want all your info, including your full SSI number everytime you talk to them. If you don't provide them with your entire identity they will not help you! I've been locked out of my account for 18 days trying to get my account number from them which they never provided to me and keep refusing to mail it! They let me know I can't help you. When you ask for there names they will give you a first name never a last so you can't report them. One guy told me my security question was wrong after obtaining all my info bank number, SSI number, address, and my security pass is the same I just used with another representative that said correct. None of the people are American that answer the phone all sound from India or they sound like they have a voice distorted sound like there hiding who they are! At this point I'm so worried now that I've locked my credit down. read more

I never actually thought I would leave a bank crying before today. The ATM took my money and didn't record it and it printed out a customer service receipt with a phone number I needed to call to file a dispute. I went to speak to the tellers to ask if they can help me and they were so rude and unwilling to help. One lady actually looked at her watch and said I'm almost off and asked her coworker to do it. Her coworker reluctantly decided to help me but he seemed super annoyed. Don't work in customer service if you don't want to help people. If you call it drive-thru, it meant for customers that driving only. There are three people who not having the car, standing by the window. I told them if they didn't have cars, they should go inside for banking. They said they always got served this way. Five minutes later, the teller showed up and serve them. It's not only unfair to do that but very dangerous for the drivers if a whole bunch of people standing by the drive thru lane. read more

We're all human and can make mistakes but they really need to look at who they're hiring and how they're trained. I have to drop by here on business and can't get over how hard it is for many of the tellers to simply count money correctly. The service here is very slow as well. I went to this bank because its the closest to my house. I needed to do a cash advance with my CITI BUSINESS CC. I went into the bank because i thought there would be a max amount through the atm. I went in and there was only one person in front of me being helped. One lady came from the back. Didn't help me. Another lady, asian with ugly yellow and orange hair came from the back and decided to help me. I told her I needed a cash advance. She asked if i had an account with them? I said, "no, just a cc." She asked for my cc and id. Then asked for my job, ssn and phone number. Gave it to her. Then she told me it was rejected. I asked her why seeing how i just opened this cc and there was plenty of money on it. She said, "i dont know. You have to call the number! I dont have access to your account!" I walked away and never did she say, "sorry i couldnt help you," "have a good day" or "can I help you with anything else?" I called citi and this lady told me that i could only do up to a certain amount. Wow! Cause that was a really difficult explanation for the teller to give me! Even if the asian teller with ugly hair didnt know why, she could have asked someone else as to why that would happen, but apparently customer service is not something she is aware of. I ended up going to the atm and withdrew what I could. All in all the teller was rude and short with me like i was some bum off the street asking for a handout. I wont come back to this branch and now have legitimate reason to not ever open any other accounts with them. I'll stick to my Wells Fargo accounts where I have never been treated like scum! read more
