This review is strictly for the credit card service. YOU GUYS SUCK!!!!!! This morning I checked my account and saw that the card company reduced my credit limit from $9400 to $8020. They sent a sorry ass, weak ass letter to explain, basically saying that I had too many inquiries. The fact that they DO NOT LOOK AT THE DATES OF THEM is BULSHIT! Nevemind that I have ALWAYS PAID ON TIME & NEVER THE MINIMUM! THAT is what limit decreases should be based on. And to cancel with no warning is bullshit too!!! Once it's paid, I'm closing this fucking account. I'd rather have a $500 limit & be respected. THIS is not how you treat customers, whose accounts are & have always been in good standing. Branch Manager Theresa Chew was so wonderful. She walked me through all the options of personal and business accounts and helped me prepare the paperwork in advance so that I only needed to sign the documents and shorten my time at the branch office. Personal banker Mark B. Canlapan has also been very responsive, quick and helpful with the preparation of the paperwork and getting the accounts open and activated as soon as possible. I can't speak to the other people at this location, but Ms. Chew and Mr. Canlapan were very professional whom I highly recommend. read more

Absolutely horrible service. I'm actually standing in line while writing this review. I came in for a simple cash withdrawal at 12:05pm, it is 12:45pm and I'm still waiting in line. There are about 16 people behind me and nothing is being done about this. 3 people walked out already as I'm typing this review. I am now late for work as it is my lunch break. Oh look at that, it's 12:48pm and It's finally my turn. 45 minutes of wait time is unacceptable. I understand that every business is now "short-staffed" due to the pandemic, but at least, have someone apologize in advance and let people know right away that there are long wait time while they're still in line so that they can plan ahead. We see other people behind the counter and we have no idea why they don't step up and help the one (1) teller that's doing it all. Ugh. Will I ever go back to this branch again? Most likely not. This has been the ~nth time this has happened and I should have learned my lesson already. read more

Being a fairly common bank in the Daly city area, Citibank has established themselves as one of the primary, if not major go to banks for customers to deal with. This branch in particular has a few bright spots. One of them is the customer service or the bank tellers. They are a pretty confident and strong group that seems to know a lot about the best ways to manage you're money as well as to invest. They will even go as far as to sit down and help a customer create a proper structure for savings for the future. Since they had a major remodel this bank looks cleaner, and more structured with the way that they operate and handle business. They even have a new bank manager who always seems very pleasant and easy to talk to. Every time my wife and I going here we're always greeted with a smile and a very pleasant welcome. Unfortunately a few issues prevent them from getting a higher score. First issue is the same one I see at all banks..the lines are always too long. Although they have multiple windows, there always seems to no more than two people working at any given time. This can be frustrating if you just want to be. Another is there ATM machines. Although the software for the machines is up-to-date with all other Citibank's. The problem is the ATM machines themselves seem real outdated. I always seem to have some kinda issues with these machines. Whether they're not working or they don't do the job they're supposed to do. It's can be real frustrating when you have to spend more time dealing with fixing issues at a bank then you do with depositing your money. read more

The Branch mgr is inept. I asked the teller why my deposit of $63.67 hasn't been credited to my account yet as it's been a month and I didn't see it on my statement. The teller asked his boss and related to me it will be credited next month. I felt uneasy about the answer because it should've been credited already. I contacted customer service was connected to a rep. located In Kentucky who was a sweet heart, really nice lady. She checked and saw it was floating and not credited to my account. She told me all the mgr had to do was to check another screen. Obviously it was too much work for him. She quickly credited the funds to my account and on the next statement it appeared on the statement. The Asian mgr is a real Ahole, he should be fired. That day, there was a customer having tirade because the line was so long. The mgr approached him and tried to appease him. He certainly wasn't concerned about his customers' needs, he was only concerned about that customer making a bunch of noise complaining and causing a ruckus. The mgr needs to be replaced, we as customers deserves better. Citibank needs to do better! read more

I find that the negative reviews don't accurately represent the service provided at the bank. I've been coming for the past few years and Citibank has definitely improved compared to the old reviews. My most recent visit was when I came during the holidays (before Christmas) and I honestly thought the line was going to be much worse. From what I've seen, There are between 2-4 bank tellers helping out so even though the line can be slow, it still moved at a decent pace. It probably took me at most 10 minutes before I was done talking to a teller and handling what I needed to get done at the bank. read more

Goodness, while I haven't used very many of the services, I'm amazed at so many negative reviews! I'm a 68-year-old RN, employed by the city and county of San Francisco for 21 years till massive budget cuts forced my retirement four years ago. Since Bank of America was the bank for my payroll - & now for my pension - I've used them forever ( with many complaints, sad to say ). I've spent nine of the past months living in India and, even with travel info outlined carefully, they have created so many difficulties for me. I've noticed quite a few Citibanks in India so I decided I would have my social security check sent there. In all of my banking life ( I've lived in five different state so I've had quite a few bank accounts ) I've never been so impressed as I have been with this small Citibank branch. I had a short wait for an officer the day I went in to open my account but, all the staff were so friendly. One of the tellers even came out to assure me that I would be helped soon. She chatted with me for a few minutes and has always said hello when I have returned to the bank. Dan Nguyen, the young man who opened my account was amazing and extremely helpful. He informed me about a free account for seniors, checking and saving, with no minimum balance!!! Of course, that's what I opened. I've been back in the bank several time and I always ask for him ( I'm sure he wishes I'd forget who he is ). He's been so helpful. I know...it's his job - but it's how he does his job that impresses me. Every staff member I've encountered seems really focused on customer service. I wish some of that would rub off on my B of A down the street. Yes, the parking lot is small....I always park in the lot next door since I have lunch at one of the two restaurants there, then do my banking. I have not been able to get through to Citibank the last two weeks, I have calling and writing, both in mobile app and email. Spent over 7 hours accumulative on the phone waiting on hold. The automatic response says they will help in 16-28 minutes but then I leave the phone on till battery runs dead about 98 minute at one point with no help! chat doesn't answer, or they answer but hours later and tell you to call. 2 months later... I finally get my money... except that its 100 bucks and not the 200 dollars of the promo! WTF! is it seriously that hard to get money? Didn't this bank get bailed out by Obama?! SMH... horrible customer service thus far... They only succeed in trying to keep you pacified. They couldn't even deliver after everything has been made clear. Its been 9 months. What incentive is there to remain a customer at this bank when they can't even get a simple promotion right?! Going in this week. I have been a Citibank customer for 3 years and LOVE it. I have never had any issues with virtually anything in the time that i have been there and the one mistake that was made was owned up to and resolved. This location and all CitiBank locations for that matter loose one star for me just because of there opening hours. I need a replacement card before a new one arrives, I work Mon-Fri 9am-5pm and of course they are only open from Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. But otherwise EXCELLENT! read more

I never had many complaints about Citibank even though all my friends always asked me why in hell I keep that account opened. Also the fact that there's no many ATM s in the city. Today I needed to pay some particular bill by check and I dont have checks (in 2021 we don't really use checks). I have a very basic account that's $10/monthly fee. I went to the agency and I found out that in order to have a basic piece of paper (check) I'd have to upgrade my account+pay $25 for 100 checks. The employees are very nice, but the services/tools that this bank provides us is terrible compared to the other big ones in the city. They should definitely improve whatever they offer to their customers. Now I understand what my friends were talking about. Fortunately I also have Wells Fargo, which sent me over 100 checks for free. I'll probably transfer my money to Wells Fargo and close my Citibank account, no need to upgrade anything when all the others offer me the same service. Stay away. Citibank does not cash their own personal checks. If you dont have an account with them they will not cash their own personal checks. If you don't have a bank account because you are young or chose not to their checks are not worth the paper they are printed on If you have an account here give cash as a gift or switch banks to buck this awful trend. read more

I came here to use the ATMs for a withdrawal not knowing that there ATMs were not not functioning correctly. So when i realized i was not able to withdraw money from the ATMs I desired to go inside the bank knowing it was 15 mins till closing . When I tried opening the door I realized it was lock! Horrible service! I came in for a problem with my account. I went up to a teller and he said a banker would have to help me out. Both of the bankers were with people. There was a couple waiting before me. Then another couple walked in. The couple waiting before me got to meet with one of the bankers. Then the couple that had just walked in sat in their seats, which were closest to the bankers. The bankers can barely see me. The couple that had just walked in got helped before me. I had been waiting for over 30 minutes. They need a better waiting area so the bankers can see everyone. And they need a better communication system in order to let the bankers know the order of who should be helped. I came from Citibank in Westlake and this was my first visit to this branch. I was hoping it would be much better than this. Unfortunately, it was not. I do not recommend banking here. went to this bank on 01/14/2017 to get a temporary Debit Card, waited on the line for almost 30 mins to get help. They helped me and got my temporary and was told that i can use my temporary card for purchases and will receive my new card in a few days. ok, so i left the building happily coz i got my temporary card... BUT.. here's the problem.. i went to a gas station, the temporary card they gave got declined!!! so i thought that is okay since it is a temporary card.... and then, i went to McDonald to get my lunch.. you know what, the card got decline too!!! So i called the customer service and they checked what is the problem because that day, my friends and I will stay on the hotel and i have to provide a debit card because the reservation is under my name.... THE TELLER AND ASST. BRANCH MANAGER WHO HELP ME THAT DAY FORGOT TO LINK THE TEMPORARY DEBIT CARD TO MY ACCOUNT!!!!
