This particular branch was right across the street from my hotel, so I used almost every day I was here. Their ATM machines can display in Spanish or English and their fees are low. You can withdraw funds from your US bank with no problems. The ATM area is air conditioned too, so that's nice. It's also very safe here too.

I waited in a very long line in a very hot lobby with no air conditioning or ventilation for a while because about half of the ATMs in the lobby were not working. When I finally got my chance to use the ATM, I couldn't, because their ATM's do not have the "Visa" logo and only accept debit cards from their own bank. I was surprised that this would be the case in such a large bank. Out of curiosity, I checked the other ATMs and none of them had the Visa logo. Thanks for wasting my time Santander!

I discovered that I needed my paper passport to conduct any business with the bank. The electronic passport on your smartphone is unacceptable as is your U.S. Issued driver's license. Walk in, take a number, and wait for your number to come up. Pretty simple and straight forward..
