This place is reminiscent of wiped-clean convenience stores seen in apocalyptic TV shows like The Walking Dead.
Citgo Food Mart, situated directly adjacent to Oakdale Theater, must see a lot of traffic before and after concerts. They've got gas pumps, a very small parking lot, and... almost nothing inside the food mart itself. The shelves were nearly completely empty (no joke, I should have taken a picture), but it wasn't like they'd just been wiped clean by concert goers. Much of the shelves had a few sparse items covered with dust, some of the packaging sun-bleached with age. Bizarre wouldn't even begin to describe it.
They literally had nothing we wanted. We ended up buying a bag of Chex Mix, which we munched in the truck before heading into Oakdale. When paying, we decided to pay cash, since we were only buying something for ~$2 or whatever (a nice gesture that most businesses would appreciate). When we handed him a $20, as that was all we had, he said "You don't have anything smaller?" We politely said no, and he shook his head, as if we were inconveniencing him in some way.
When in the area, attending a concert at Oakdale, avoid this Citgo if at all possible. I can all but guarantee that they won't have anything you want, let alone anything you need. Stop elsewhere. read more
