We have been very disappointed with our experience at Cirrus. Our apartment gas service was shut off due to a gas leak/safety issue, which meant we could not safely use our in-unit stove or oven for an extended period. The issue continued into a second week, and for much of that time we did not have a confirmed repair completion date.
While the building eventually allowed us to use the shared Chef's Kitchen, that was not a real substitute for having a working kitchen in our own apartment. Using it meant carrying groceries, cookware, and other kitchen items to another floor, coordinating around a shared space, and cleaning everything outside our apartment. In practice, we still had to buy many meals outside, which was both inconvenient and costly.
What was most frustrating was the management response. We asked for a reasonable rent credit or reimbursement for the affected period, given that an essential part of the apartment was unavailable. Management acknowledged the inconvenience but refused to offer any rent adjustment or reimbursement.
I understand that repairs can take time and that shutting off gas may be necessary for safety. However, when residents lose normal use of their kitchen for this long, I would expect more meaningful accommodation, clearer communication, and a fairer response from management. This experience left us feeling that resident disruption was not taken seriously. read more
