Joe Sumner (Sting's son) and Veronica Swift were both featured signers. They performed a number of David Bowie songs, and they all sounded great. The event raised money for the charity and the audience truly enjoyed the evening. The staff at the Center were all friendly. I would not hesitate going to another event at the Center.

They take it very seriously here and want to make sure they have the keiki's full attention. Parents are usually allowed to observe towards the end of lessons, so that the keiki can concentrate on learning hula. This really pays off as my daughter gets distracted easily but has really learned a lot in just a short period of time. Kumu and all of the Aunties are very friendly and make you feel like 'ohana (family). What I particularly like is how there are classes for any age group; you will often find mothers, daughters and even grandmas from the same family all performing hula here. There is also a group for men/boys. Kumu Puanani Jung comes from a family of lifelong kumu hula and her mother, who we call "Big Aunty Pua" also teaches sometimes which is a special treat. HHLO is the best hula school in South Orange County and I highly recommend it. I am also considering in joining lessons myself next year.
