My son was registered for November and December. The gym did not have classes in half of November and half of December because of the holidays. They do not give you credit for the missed classes so you end up paying twice the price and the monthly tuition is pricey to begin with! I called them on this and they said they only allow make-up classes BUT (and here is the kicker) they do not track the make-up classes AND it cannot be applied to your child's future classes for the same time and date AND you have to call them the week before to schedule the class on their availability, not yours. Since my son only takes gymnastics once a week on a certain day and time, it's really hard to find a second day and time in the same week for the makeup classes because all the classes we want are usually taken (weekdays after school and weekend mornings). Since they don't even track make-up classes, it seems like most parents end up not using them anyway. This seems really shady to me. We do like the classes but as a note, please sign up for the months where there are no holidays.

This place is insanely expensive and they keep raising prices every year. A 55 minute class for a 9…read moreyear old is $79 ($317 for 4 classes). Compare that to my $38 SoulCycle class ! When they are closed you still have to pay the whole monthly amount and they offer a make up class instead. Unfortunately there is no other gymnastics place nearby and they seem to take full advantage of that.

In early 2021 they changed their policies and no longer accepted makeups for missed sessions, and also did not allow family members to use any of the extra sessions (which they had previously allowed) We must have missed the new update to the policies. In January of 2021, my sister in law passed away from cancer. She left behind two boys, my nephews, ages the same as my own. Long story short, we missed many of our classes during our time in mourning and supporting our family. When we did get back to resuming our sessions, we were disappointed, frustrated and shocked to find out that my nephews were not allowed to use the countless credits for classes we had racked up. In disbelief, I spoke to the General Manager, Micky, who refused to let my nephews jump into classes with my kids, "because the policies changed" and "because my nephews were not registered at The Little Gym". ***Keeping in mind, my nephews USED to be allowed to use our credits even though they were NEVER registered with The Little Gym. In further disbelief, I contacted the OWNER of The Little Gym in TriBeCa, including the memorial service info and tributes about my late sister in law who had passed away, in our communications. The owner said he was 'sorry, but would not make any exceptions despite the extra ordinary circumstances'. My hope is that after reading this, parents will stop wanting to continue to support this awful place.

They have an awesome gym room for the kids to play around in. During my kid's time here he learned to talk, learned his abcs, numbers, saying sentences, was potty trained, and well socialized with lots of other kids. Our profile. My kiddo is a wallflower and every teacher that he's had has been quintessential in his social development and getting him to open up. The teachers truly care about him. All of them. It was such a super heart-warming experience when I went to pick him up the other day. On my way in, I was able to catch up with Ms. Jada, who was the first teacher he had. She has the patience of an angel and really helped guide us into appropriate behaviors for little ones of his age at the time in these social settings. Just helping us get back into "normal" post-covid children group interactions. We talked about how much he's grown and how he's talking so much now. She also came in to his new class to say hi and he stopped getting ready to leave to go give her a hug. In the hallway, we also ran into Ms. Sonia and Ms. Candace both of whom were also so important in coaxing him out of his shell and always making him feel safe enough to do so. They also were impressed by how big he's gotten and his personality has blossomed further as he's become more comfortable in who he is. These small interactions just solidified how much trust I have in them. They truly don't HAVE to stop to talk to us. It was the end of the day, they were certainly tired. But each one of them have taken the time to notice my son, even when he's not in their class anymore, and to say hi just to say hi. Of course, Mr. Jose and Ms. Juliette certainly have a way with him and the rest of the kids too. He always comes home and teaches us the new sign language he's learned. Mr. Jose has such an awesome, chill big brother vibe. On the administrative side, Ms. Mona is always a ray of sunshine. I'm so impressed with the knowledge my son has shown from counting numbers to singing the abc's to know all the colors. Most recently, Ms Candace and Ms Eileen have been amazing with my son. He even asks for them when we're at home and I ask about school. He is always excited to go to school to spend time with them and his classmates. I'm grateful for the school and its close proximity as we live in stuytown. I hope the school will offer 3K next year as the tuition is high and any savings will help.
