The gas prices were easily .10 cheaper here than all the other stations lining the highway. Not sure if consistently this cheap, but I felt like I won a small time lottery when I scoped the price per gallon. The station itself is located up on a hill that can make it hard to get in and out of, but also kind of ominous as it overlooks the small two-lane road below and allows for small peaks on to the highway. The gas station itself is your standard MAPCO with all the self-serve stations for food and drink, plus a variety of drinks and snacks you expect at any convenience store. The place was clean for the most part and well maintained, but also did show its age, but it's a highway gas station located in a tiny town...so it was expected. Lastly, the Attendant was friendly and helpful. Overall, solid place to stop to top off the gas tank and grab a snack near the state line!

You exit (heading south) and make a right turn followed by an immediate right turn that goes up into the gas station. The thing is, if it's dark, you really can't even tell that you are pulling into a gas station. It's like they dug this out of a hillside, but didn't flatten it out .... very claustrophobic in here. I was pleasantly surprised they carried Topo Chico (a well known brand amongst the bubble water community) but when I got to the coffee part of the fridge, I was appalled by the amount of sugar contained in ALL of the cold caffeinated drinks in the section. The jack links were delicious, but the lack of hummus packs made me feel a little unwelcome as a Middle-eastern man travelling through western Tennessee. In conclusion, if you happen to be a fusion band traveling via Chatanooga TN, I can't (in good conscience) recommend it, but it's also not the worst. If I were you I'd take it or leave it.

So, when I stopped at this gas station just to grab a Sprite after an appointment nearby, I HAD to respond to the delicious smell of fresh deep fried chicken. I am so glad that I did! The chicken was so flavorful, authentic deep fry style of a little crunchy on the outside and soft but hot perfectly cooked inside. And so were the potato wedges. That price for such a lunch feels unreal.

We also made our way inside with one thing on our mind. Facilities. When we got in there we noticed that it was a one-person-at-a-time facility. And there was a line. I actually asked the guy standing there if he was in line and he insisted on me going before him. The facility was underwhelming and in dire need of cleaning. But I didn't care, I needed to use the facility. It served it's purpose. When done, I handed it off to the next person and looked around the store for a bit. Not seeing anything of my liking I went back outside. While outside, I noticed that the lot was a bit weird. The parking spots were so close to each other that I didn't even noticed I parked in the middle of two spots. The lines were a bit faded. But everyone just seemed to go with the flow.
