I went to this gas station on March 4th and got gas. My car stalled a half a block down the street…read moreand it wouldn't start. I then had my car towed to the mechanic shop and they told me that diesel was in my engine. I use pump one so there was no diesel option so the gas station had diesel in that tank. I didn't have any other gas in my car. I was on the e when I went there so I know I didn't have it in there before I got there because my car wouldn't have made it to the gas station. I contacted their insurance company and got them all the information they needed and they've been avoiding me for weeks now. They won't return any of my calls or emails. It looks like I'm going to have to go to small claims court to receive my $3,000 in damages to my gas pumps in my car. It's funny every time you go there or call there you can never contact the owner. I wouldn't recommend going there for gas especially not on pump one.

I know that customer that went there on March 4. he is the one that fueled his own car with diesel…read more the pumps when being set inside only says fuel, the system inside the store doesn't set the type of fuel, it's the customer themselves that select a fuel type. he ruined his own car because he selected the wrong fuel type himself. the cashier takes the payment but the customer selects and pumps their own fuel. there isn't a control to select a customers fuel at the register.

I went back in and asked for a refund of around $16. They refused to give me a refund, I was told I had to speak to the manager the next day. The employee gave me the store number and I gave her my personal cell number, she said "this is business... it doesn't working like that, you have to call him he won't call you". It's been a week and still no call...I'm going go back soon to get my $16 I just didn't have the time. I normally get excellent service at QT's . It's in the middle of a bunch of ethnic restaurants and foreign grocers by the Medical Center. I've found that the gas is still cheaper just a little bit up the hill at the Valero. But this place is clean, clean, clean. It's spotless! It always seems to be picked up, and the bathrooms are rather clean. I like how they have a full (help yourself) bar for coffee drinks- with nitro cold coffee that puts the local coffee shops on the run. My fav thing about these gas stations is the name brand condiment station, where you can get the fancy stuff - Grey Poupon in little yellow packets, or Cholula hot sauce- Grab handfuls, because this is the good stuff! I've only been here twice to fill up on gas. The pumps aren't clean by any means; in fact, the one I was using had the 87 octane label ripped off from the button! Why would someone do that?! Nevertheless, the pump did get the job done for me, but I do want to caution that on both of my visits, the pump I was at was spilling out liquid right before I inserted into the fuel tank of my rental car. Clearly, it has seen better days, and speaking of better days, I also agree that the area doesn't look safe. Might I add the words "barren" and "dilapidated" to that list as well? Either way, I would only recommend for a quick in and out during the day time. There's a Valero just a couple blocks west of here, but kind of out of the way of the 10 since this station is literally right off the freeway. Look for the Laredo St exit as that's where the gas station is located. If you're traveling northbound on the 10, it's literally right there that there's no way you can miss it. If you're traveling southbound, make a left, cross the freeway underpass, and it will be to your left. For eats, there's a McDonalds next door to the Shell, and one more building over is a Mexican restaurant. Is the gas expensive here? No compared to California lol. But compared to other parts, I would say so. The first time I fueled up, it was $3.19 per gallon. The second time, it went up 8 cents per gallon. When I fueled up at Buc-ee's between those two visits, it was less than $3 per gallon. I didn't have an issue with paying by card both times, but oddly enough, after my second trip, my card started having issues on the ensuing transaction when I went to get dinner. I confirmed that the dinner was the culprit of my card declining, but was also told that my visit to this Shell could have triggered something that caused my card to decline the remainder of my trip. I would have given 3 stars, but because of this mess, as well as Fernanda mentioning issues with credit cards at this location, I'm choosing to drop one additional star here. If I make a return visit to San Antonio, I'm going to avoid this Shell. I'd recommend going to the nearby Valero instead. Or maybe I should go all the way to New Braunfels just to visit Buc-ee's again lol.
