I very very rarely have gone inside, but when I have gone inside, it's the usual mini-mart. I tend to totally avoid going inside any mini-mart, honestly, unless I'm traveling and need a water. This location is at a very busy intersection so getting in and out may be tricky. You can't turn left out of the shopping center onto Veteran's, only right turns unless you're one of those rude people who take a serious risk and turn left from the forced right turn lane because there is no divider preventing you from turning left. Just don't do it. There is an exit and entrance on S. 18th St. I go here alot just because it is convenient.

Gas Station & AWESOME MINI SHOP!…read more Location: There are plenty of gas pumps for everyone even at peak hours during high business flow. Also, there is plenty of parking on the side for customers visiting the mini-mart inside. This is on the corner of 18th & 350 S. (A.K.A. Veterans Memorial Parkway) which is the south side of Lafayette and is a very safe location even in the middle of the night. Service: This stop has always been tops. I mean, let me emphasize this is a gas station and mini-mart I am reviewing here, and rating 5 stars! The staff inside are always so perfectly friendly. They remodeled about 2-3 years ago expanding the mini-mart to anything I can hardly call mini-mart. It's a pretty darn well stocked little SHOP for a gas station mart! I would feel I hit a jack pot running into a place like this off of any expressway on a road trip sometime. This one is located in the heart of the south side, but for locals is amazing. WINNING, not on road trips only, but always! SCORE! Shop: Inside is loaded. You got it all and then some. Donuts, some fruit, nachos with cheese dispenser and trays, normal roadside bags of snacks, full size bags of treats, candy, dips, refrigerated section of Lunchables, cheese sticks, yogurt, and such items. Alcohol here too - there is even a cold chest room in the back corner! I saw cans from People's Brewing Company for sale here which is one of the Lafayette local Craft Beer Breweries. Roadside and car items can be found and purchased here too. Also, a great variety of Hoosier Lottery tickets here and the staff never rushes me to pick out my $1 or $2 card I am feeling lucky for (...really I am deciding which game I want to play scratch off with, haha, cheers!) Gas: Never overpriced. Always at the correct lowest market rate for the "in town" gas stations. Beverages: DRUMROLL PLEASE...! This is a HUGE 5 star contributor to this particular location. People come here (for years now as I can tell in my 7 years here) for soda, pop, fountain drinks - whatever you call them. I call it "pop" & will go with that! It is 69 cents for 32 ounces or 99 cents for 44 ounces in a Styrofoam cup (yes, I yelled at a coworker for years for killing the environment as she insisted it kept her drink and ice cold longer - I see it now - plus Lafayette everywhere seems to use more Styrofoam then other places I have ever seen in my life. It's here, don't hate because McDonalds and the gas station up the road will also serve you Styrofoam...). You can get a punch card and buy so many, get one free! I forget my card so don't know if it is 6 or 10 but the pop is so cheap I really never care. There is Coke AND Pepsi Brand named products, Gold Peak teas, Gatorade, syrup flavor bursts, slushie machines, iced coffee machines, and more. There is still a fridge section of 20 oz pops, but why spend more money for less beverage unless you REALLY need a cap for some reason? The pop is a huge stop here beyond just gas for any local that has visited or reads this review and certainly will join in to see the wall of delight to make your own beverage selection or fun mixed blend! It's like Christmas for adults. Kids do this with snow cones... Which syrup or flavor? Adults here play with pop! Beginning with cubed or pellet ice! Who ever knew getting pop could be such fun?! Overall: This is my favorite gas station. I fill my car, stop for a beverage or quick snack at any hour, and it feels very safe w/ the friendliest staff on shift around the clock. A gas station hardly is something I would be able to give 5 stars too. Maybe 4, because how do you get that "wow" factor from a gas station? How do you get that "something extra" that makes ordinary into extraordinary? SUPER TEST is the answer. Go see for yourself!

I didn't feel compelled to write a review until an incident today. As many know, theres a new craze surrounding the stuffed animals known as Squishmallows. Unfortunately, I find myself to be in that craze and absolutely adore them, and have for a couple years now. Around this time of year is when they start releasing the Halloween styles at retail locations and if you don't get one the day they put them out, then you might as well not bother because you wont get one at all. A couple weeks ago, I decided to check this walgreens for them. When I first walked in, I didn't see any out on the shelves but I asked an employee in the section if she knew if there were any in stock, since there were a whole bunch of boxes. She checked and there were, and she seemed pretty happy to help. Then the manager walks up, says to me and my partner very grumpily that they don't have any. However, the previous employee had literally started opening the box with the Squishmallows inside. We weren't trying to bother anyone, I always do my best to be polite and try not to interrupt anyone doing their current task. I would expect this attitude from a teenage employee... not someone who's at least in their early thirties and in a higher position. The employee put out all the new arrivals they had gotten and i got one squishmallow between my partner and i. One. Thats the back story for todays incident. On my way to do errands, we stopped in again just to see. We hadn't been having much luck but I thought I'd see anyway. To our luck, they had the one me and my sister in-law have been looking for! They had 6 in stock and we were originally only going to get two, but decided on three because we thought another friend might want one. We walk to the register and the cashier politely tells us that she can only do two per purchase, so we asked if it was okay if we could pay separately for them and she said that was fine. The manager was eavesdropping and told us no and he said we could only get two since we were together. We explained we were paying separate and his attitude kicked in. He said something along the lines of "No, you guys came in together. You're together. I told you guys this last time!" Huh?? We didn't argue, we put the third back. First off, i completely understand restricting purchase quantities, theres a huge scarcity at the moment. However, there was no need for attitude on either occasions. We werent being over bearing, we werent running into the store crazy and snatching all of them up, we dont go in every day asking them if theyve got any in. There was no reason for him to be so outwardly annoyed with us specifically. Secondly, he had not said anything of the sort the last time we visited, if not the shear evidence being that I'd only bought one single squishmallow on my last visit. TLDR: there's no reason to be rude to customers because they come in looking for a product your store sells. Its unfortunate if others have been rude or crazy towards you and your employees, but its highly unfair to treat anyone coming in like they just caused you the biggest inconvenience of your life just by existing.
