Just would say I get someone to call you and get fixed. But they would keep texting for me to removed my post from Yelp. Things would be fixed if I removed post first. I know something's where my fault for trusting and did live about 2 1/2 hrs away. So since they haven't repaired i didn't take down my post, just finishing up my critique. Good luck on your new home and adventure . Things I would suggest if you hire them. 1-don't use their lawyers to save money. Joe suggested we use their lawyers to save money. Spend a little extra so can get help if / when needed. 2- don't take their word until you see for yourself. Was to have 2 truck loads of gravel for drive way but only one was delivered. Called Joe and he said 2 was delivered and knew it was. I called the gravel company and only 1 was delivered. Joe told me I guessed he needed to watch his men closer. Rooney kept tell us how hard it is to built a small house but Joe said no built he has plans and can change. 3-don't build handicap house with barn doors. Rooney told me they don't make handicap barn doors and ask why he didn't tell me - he couldn't tell me everything. 4-check all electrical outlets. circuit breaker kept tripping. Had to hire an electrician to fix. 5-if you get a fireplace get the instructions booklet. They wouldn't put a hearth in floor because wasn't needed. When I finally was given book, it was highly suggested to install hearth because their fireplace can melt LVP. Rooney did come out and measured but never heard again. 5-asked several time where the septic tank was located and where the clean out pipe located. Did finally get a text picture of where they just dug up and placed the clean out. Little thing they forgot. Still no idea where septic tank is. 6-if you using gas for fireplace/ tankless water heater make sure there is a connection for the gas company to connect too. Ask Rooney where the connection was, he couldn't find. Had to do connection after house built. 7-use your own designer. We had at less 2-3, they kept leaving. 8-if you need a handicap house and need wheelchair/walker just pay close attention. Had a little step up from deck to front door. Try getting a wheelchair over that. Joe said he will get a ramp if a remove post. Well there was a metal ramp at door when we came to visit son. Have to give them that one.

MTD Scammed us DO NOT HIRE MTD…read moreProvided a price for floor install with 2 bedrooms & bathroom,loft and then decided one bedroom and loft would suffice for contract obligation! We were quoted a job for 60k In April 2022 that we signed contracts for and provided a 20k deposit to start. Todd Disharoon aka Michael Todd Disharoon met with us and we reviewed the entire job. That was last time we saw him. He will send his son to pick up checks. First couple weeks were okay and seemed to be moving along and then Todd asked for more money (this should of been a red flag since the 20k was more than enough for what they had done thus far which was basically installed an unfinished floor. The subcontracted HVAC and electrician then came and did there preliminary stuff and no issues. Todd than tells us a week after we gave him an additional 10k for materials that we need to stop work to get Inspection done by County. He said the permits still have not been approved and this is AFTER the floor was already installed. He told us the county were slow and understaffed. A week later we called the county and Lo and Behold, the county had NOTHING a submitted by MTD. So now he has to scramble to get permits approved and then had to hire his own engineer to approve the work since he did it without county approval. His project manager George (showed up twice the entire 5 months) was telling us that he had to pay an extra 500 For an engineer because of "County incompetence " The entire month of June with no work being done, he sends his subcontractor drywall/painter person. The painter would show up for an hour or two and say he would be back next week and then show up for an hour or two even telling us he was going to the gym first! WTF! The work done by his only actual MTD employees Mike and Austin was not an issue , but you could tell they had no support from Todd and even mentioned that he managed jobs terribly. Mike went to pick up our flooring and came back embarrassed to tell us that the company card account was declined. This is supposed to be a reputable company not to mention we just gave them 30k for OUR materials. So weeks later, flooring finally gets installed and not the sample we gave him from our original floor match but some cheap alternative they decided to use. And the painter used to the wrong color on our rooms and we had to hire a new painter and spend 2k out of pocket to redo the paint job it took MTD over 4 weeks to botch! So then when Todd was supposed to start the other rooms in our project as detailed on our signed contract, I asked him to make sure permits are approved so there are no delays which he says everything was sent to County. We call county a week later because of the first previous lie and guess what? Nothing was submitted by MTD When this point is raised, Todd then tells us he is not completing the job and basically breached our signed contract. He tells us "you got your 30k worth" This is the kind of blatant unprofessional comment he would tell us. Finally, today sept 27, his two workers come back to install closet and bedroom doors which according to Todd have been on Back order for months. They finish up and leave the closet and bedroom door with no hardware and unpainted and visible damage on door. I mention this to Todd and his reply "you can go to Lowe's and pick up a kit and install it yourself " Then he says "why don't you get the company that is working in your garage to finish the work" This is a company I am forced to hire because of Todd's contract breach and he has the audacity to say this to us. Check the BBB; don't be fooled by the BBB accreditation and look over the reviews, Particularly one that is very similar our situation and they been cited on BBB for non-permitted work amongst other numerous violations. They said it was a maintenance issue and not only was it not covered if I didn't get it fixed my insurance was not going to be renewed. Needing to pull out all the old tile and subfloor we decided we may as well remodel the whole bathroom. I had called a few contractors I had found online and but out of the several I called only 1 ever showed up to the appointment and he apparently didn't want the job because the cost was ridiculous. I asked a few friends for recommendations and MTD was recommended as they had completed a really nice kitchen remodel. I gave them a call and had the owner, Todd, at my house the next day. Todd was great at understanding exactly what we wanted. We had a quote emailed to us that evening which was under budget along with a timeline. He was sure the job could be completed within the time frame that the insurance company required it. All permits were gotten from the City of Forest Acres and after a week of picking our materials work started. All the contractors were very professional and they also knew one another and how they did their job which smoothed the workflow and made everything more efficient. I'm pretty sure that MTD only uses contractors that "play nice" together, which make a lot of sense. The times we had questions (and a few changes) we always got a response within 30 minutes. There was never any drama. Todd has excellent communication skills. The work was finished within the required time and the insurance company renewed our insurance. Huge stress relief! The end result was a great looking, completely updated master bathroom that I couldn't be happier with. The entire process from start to finish was a pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

They also raised the floor in the laundry room to make it level with the kitchen floor, thus removing accidents waiting to happen. The two highly skilled pros who worked in my home each day clearly knew what they were doing. It is always nice to work with someone who is willing to do a little more than necessary for the client. These guys were willing to pick up the appliances from the vendor - no small feat for a stove that weighs 670lbs. I didn't go to the store once. My home was treated with respect and each night they returned it to a usable state for me and my family. A previous business Jim operated under was TruBilt, LLC. Please research heavily and don't take our word for it. We hired Jim in Oct 2021 to do a full kitchen remodel estimated at $45k and paid a $15k deposit. It was Jan 2022 before the demo started. That was when we no longer had a functional kitchen with running water etc. There were always excuses why workers did not show up. Workers were not licensed professionals just people doing handyman work they were not qualified to do. We were still without a functional kitchen in July 2022 when we finally terminated the contract after a multitude of attempts to resolve the problems. Mr. Tokunaga would periodically have workers begin a task to get back into our good graces, only to have him fall flat again and again. To complete the kitchen remodel, we had to pay other contractors even though money had been paid to Mr. Tokunaga to complete those tasks. The cabinet subcontractor refused to complete that job because he was not being paid although we had already issued payment to Mr. Tokunago for the full cabinet completion. The licensed electrician we hired after terminating Mr. Tokunago stated the wiring was so bad it could have caught fire at any moment. When we terminated this contractor in July, we still had no running water, no sink, no appliances, no counter tops, no backsplash, and holes in the ceiling where his subs cut into the sheetrock in the wrong areas. Not to mention other faulty workmanship issues that were corrected by me. There is so much more to be said, but please do your due diligence and look up the lawsuit of Schmidt vs Advanced Building & Construction LLC in Kershaw County SC. We have a 2 inch binder filled with all our evidence and willing to share. After termination, we had to pay licensed professional to complete the kitchen and repair all the items that were done incorrectly and even hazardous. Money we had already paid Jim to do. When we hired our own licensed electrician, he stated our kitchen wiring was so bad it could have caught fire at any moment. After 4 different contractors we eventually chose a different one based on what we felt was the best fit. Jim gave reasonable prices and even caught a potential issue two of the other contractors missed. He followed up when we told him we were expecting to make a decision and didn't get mad when I informed him we had not chosen his company. We had a great conversation with him after we gave him the bad news and he was understanding. We will definitely keep his number handy for future projects.
