My order of batik fabric that I ordered from Keystone Modern Creative, with an expected delivery…read moredate of May 21st, arrived today on the 17th! Amazing! My fabric was double bagged, neatly folded and even wrapped with pretty ribbon! I was beyond thrilled, and all of the fabrics are beautiful, and lovely quality! I had planned on including a photo but am unable to paste it in. Believe me it is gorgeous! Leslie included a thank you note and I am really impressed with the amazing service. I am probably what would be considered a customer from hell, as I am trying to build my stash and ordered 1/2 meters of all my selections. So much work for poor Leslie! I strongly recommend Keystone to anyone looking for quality fabrics at great prices. I would have paid more at my local shops. I will definitely shop here again!

This place is HUGE, warehouse huge. Every time I am in this place I spend at least an hour looking…read morethrough the enormous amount of fabric. Something I've come to appreciate about this place is that they have signs with fabric type written over every gigantic section. I only gave this place 3 stars because the service is hit or miss (usually miss)... it's usually a lot better if you're dealing with someone in their 20's (in my personal experience). Also the prices are not always attached to fabric bolts, that wouldn't necessarily be a problem if I didn't already dislike interacting with the people who work here. It's rare to find trendy fabric here (the way you will at Fabricland) but they have classics and basics at extremely fair prices (and you don't even have to have a membership).

I have shopping for fabric for over 7 years and shopping at Mook Fabrics was the best fabric…read moreshopping experience I have ever had! This store is a hidden gem for sewers and quilters. Definitely worth the drive! The store was clean, well-organized, and had great displays of different projects on the walls. And unlike some other stores, there is room to move around and they even have shopping carts (a rare find in fabric stores). Great selection of fabrics and surprisingly great/lower prices. On top of all this, the customer service was incredible! We were greeted upon arrival, had our fabrics carried for us to the cutting table and were helped by several different staff and the manager (who spent a considerable amount of time with us)-- Incredible customer service--retail stores could learn a lot from this crew! Overall, a 5-star experience. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Planning an African safari in Kenya? Gear up at U.N. Luggage first…read more Here's the detail that nearly sank me. The weight limit on domestic flights inside Africa is 15 kg per person. Not per bag. Per person. I worked that out two weeks before we flew, standing in my bedroom looking at a hard shell suitcase that was already over the limit empty. So I drove down to U.N. Luggage at 175 McDermot here in Winnipeg and threw the whole problem at them. Jon and his crew were terrific. They laid out the realistic options instead of steering me at the priciest thing on the wall, and I landed on the Osprey Sojourn Shuttle with wheels. Worth knowing my situation: I'm close to 300lbs with size 15 feet, so "fits all my clothes and all my shoes" and "comes in under 15 kg" normally fight each other. Not this time. That bag went to Kenya completely full and still made weight. BOOM. The extras ended up mattering as much as the bag did. I picked up carry on approved bottles so I could bring my own shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste, and then there were the Eagle Creek compression cubes, which I'd put near the top of anything I've ever bought for travelling. I have ADHD, and packing has always been my least favourite job on earth, because three days in my bag is a disaster. With the cubes, every shirt rolls into one, you squash it flat, and you can put your hand on anything in seconds. Big guy note for anyone like me: I assumed I'd need the Large and I didn't. Small and Medium with the mesh fronts did the entire job, roughly three to five items per cube. Out on the walking safari through Tsavo West and Tsavo East, three more things earned their place every single day. The Osprey 3L water bladder. A travel towel e sack. And a daypack that folds away insideitself. One last thing. We stuck Canadian flag pins on everything so nobody mistook us for Americans. :-D I'm genuinely delighted with all of it. The advice at U.N. Luggage made the whole trip easier. Thank you.
