Nice park, I liked it. There's a super easy walking trail around it, flat surface, no hills, just a relaxed walk. Great if you just want to get outside and move a little. Lots of soccer fields and a playground, so it's perfect for families with kids. 11/24/22 Just a heads up to those who walk the trail. The little side trail near the soccer fields and playscape...the one that passes over the creek has a large ripped apart deer. Blood and guts everywhere. Clearly I didn't take a pic but just be aware if you walk with your dog and/or small children. It wasn't pretty. My dog is great off leash and luckily I saw it before she decided to go in for a closer look. Do we call the parks dept to come get it or just let nature take care of it. Bathrooms never have soap, no paper towels, and the hand dryers don't work. Much of the park hasn't been renovated since I went here as a kid 20 years ago. Very very busy on weekends especially during soccer season. But, the park itself is still one of the better options due to the size and options. Review is purely for the disc golf course. Probably my favorite course in town, love how green it stays throughout the year, making for a very pleasant walk. I'd put it at the slightly more difficult end of beginner courses, a bit more distance on some holes and more technical than other courses I'd put in the beginner category. Why are there still no "sidewalks" connecting the park to slaughter? Why not a sidewalk connecting the trail to make a loop? Basketball courts are either empty or someone invited their entire extended family and takes over the court like they own it. Poorly maintained trail that gets washed away with the tiniest bit of rain. Park is overrated to say the least. read more

This is a nice park located in Circle C off slaughter. This park is utilized a lot by families. There are several soccer fields that are usually packed on the weekend. There is also a playground area. There is a main gravel trail that is about a mile long and once you hit the end turn around. It's an easy place to jog, run, and even ride your bike. If you ride your bike there are more options of trails on the other side of Escarpment. Also, discgolf courses are located throughout the park as well. read more

Huge park! Playgrounds, multiple soccer fields, disc golf course, hike & bike trail! We set up a hammock and hung out for the evening, rode bikes and played disc golf. It was a weeknight, so it wasn't crowded. Plenty of parking and space to roam around. Lots of dogs off leash. read more

This is a great park for avid walkers or joggers. The "main" trail is about a mile and a half around but it has many offshoots to make your hike much longer if desired. I like to do several laps around the main trail, and circle back to my car in the gravel parking lot for a water break. Also handy, there are (clean!) bathrooms right off the main trail near the soccer fields. Comes in handy on long walks or jogs. my only complaint or CON about this park is that after heavy rains a section of it becomes quite flooded and you must veer around through a field to continue. I always worry about snakes in that field! the same area of the trail always is flooded like a huge pond so I don't know why they can't create a little bridge or giant stepping Stones across it. read more

Be super careful here- I love this park so much and I've been coming here for so many years, but every time I park in the main front parking lot, returning to my car, it has been broken into, or I've seen other cars that have been broken into. It seems as if someone is parking right next to other cars, rolling down either their passenger or driver side window and breaking into cars via their car, and then driving away. I am pretty sure the police are aware of this, but the person that is doing this repeated offense knows when they can get away with this during busy times on the weekend where they see families going on long walks or people leaving their cars in the parking lots, anticipating that they won't be back in a short amount of time. Smashed windshields, doors pried open with crowbars, you name it. I have talked to a couple people in the parking lot when they are getting ready to go on a walk to give them a heads up, many people are aware of this issue and keep their cars unlocked so that the perpetrator doesn't smash their windows to access their car. I truly wish that a camera could be installed to ensure that this doesn't continue happening. The fact that there is not consistent police presence there on the weekends especially in the mornings, creates such a prime opportunity for this to be a continuing issue. I will continue going to this amazing park and hope that it continues to be a place where people feel safe and enjoy their time. I just hope that action is taken so that this is not something that is being enabled by innocent people parking their cars in parking lots, and in turn, having their cars damaged and their belongings stolen. read more

Circle C metro park caters to specific groups, and for them, I can see why it would be a 5 star rating. However, as a mother to an 8, almost 9 year old who just came here to utilize the tables for a picnic and the playground it's 3.5 to 4 stars. The park itself is really well maintained, with ample parking. The grass looks soft, and level on the soccer fields and there are a couple of sand volleyball pits nearby. The tables are a plastic resin, which is nice cause most use wood. The plastic is warm, but not too hot to sit on in shorts. Also, they aren't caked with food particles like one would expect. All good things! Why does this place get a less than stellar rating from me? Cause the playground to me is lacking. They have rock gravel on the bottom, which means they get thrown, or stuck in shoes. The shade is very nice, but the equipment is geared towards 6 and younger. To me, it's outdated compared to others I've seen in the area, and since this is what we came for.. Less than 5 stars. It needs something more.. A small rock climb area, or monkey bars.. It's really just slides and swings. So if you have a younger kid.. This is amazing.. But for those of us who have older, they could easily get bored within 30 mins. read more

This park has it all! Soccer fields, disc golf, creeks, walking/hiking trails, playground, swings, basketball, sand volleyball, kickball... the list goes on. A few things you should know: 1. The playground has those teensie little pebbles as ground cover - so wear closed toe shoes. 2. The parking lots get SUPER packed Saturday & Sunday during soccer games. 3. There is one restroom spot (that I know of) on site & it's a bit of a walk from the playground area. It's located at the entrance of the disc golf course. 4. There are lots of trees over the playground - HELLO SHADE! read more

This could be a great park during off times. However, the parking is insufficient for the number of soccer fields in the park. There are no where near enough parking spots for the number of fields they have booked during the busier times. This is dangerous having cars driving around searching for spots and parked in non designated areas with kids walking around the same roads and parking lots. The park should not be booking all of their fields if they don't have enough parking spots to accommodate all of the players. read more

Great place to take the dog for a quick trip into the "wilderness" - my bird dog is drooling before we get a quarter-mile down the path. Along those lines I wish they had some water along the way for the pups. There's also plenty of open space to take kids (took the great-nephews there to fly some kites). read more

This is a really nice family park, especially if the parents have taught the kids how to behave in public and how things can be preserved if kept nice. I come here often to chill and it has very good cell reception just in case you are needed. One thing I have noticed here, which can be very busy on weekends, are parents who are actually teaching their children and pets about socialization. The squirrels and grackles will go after anything not nailed down in the spring so it is a really good time to make sure you pick up your trash. Peanuts.... only boiled ones if you are going to give handouts. That way they don't grow from any animal or people leftovers and there is no salt to damage the grass. Lots of trails, a soccer field, toilets. It is a bit old school, but that is what I like about a few of the parks in the area. read more

This park is located in Circle C Ranch just SW of Slaughter and Escarpement. The park includes soccer fields, volleyball courts, playground, picnic tables, grilles, restrooms and disk golf along the hiking trails. I have only used the hiking trail and restroom so that it is what the stars reflect. The trails are really just 3 stars as far as scenery goes but since this trail is so close to my casa it gets an extra star for accessibility. I can jog the trail in 1 hour so I am guessing it is 2.5 - 3 miles long. The trail is wide and clean with a crushed granite surface. There are 2 water crossings one with pavement another with rocks. The trail circles around the soccer field so this time of year you will probably here the games on the weekends. I hit these trails on weekday evenings around 6PM and pass lots of parents pushing baby strollers or walking their dogs; but, it is never overly crowded. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

This, if you were not aware, has one of the feature Disc Golf Courses in the area. The park has numerous amenities, and they can be written on by many others... I would like to allow you a moment to get the information on one of the best challenging Disc Golf Courses in the area. If you were not aware of the Disc Golf Course in the park, please take some time and share in the beauty and fun difficulty by playing a round here. I will admit that I am an avid Disc Golfer that has played in Statewide/National competitions and local events alike. Additionally, as a disclaimer, I am a member of the Waterloo Disc Golf Club that helped orchestrate, coordinate, and procure all the needed support and monetary funds to get the course redesign and improvement off the ground. Most recently last year the course was closed down for about 6 months so renovations, clearings, erosion control, improvements and access features could be performed for disc golfers playing in the Austin area. Many World Class Disc Golfers have played here and they ALL recommend playing the course, even more so, after the improvements. The improvements were a combination of hundreds of volunteer hours, large amounts of donations and the commitment the City of Austin made years ago for the improvement to the park. The budgets approved were met: ON TIME, UNDER BUDGET, and EXCEEDED expectations since they left much of the work and coordination up to the Disc Golf Club. The course is an 18 hole course with 2 sets of Tees (6821 ft. - 7987 ft) and a Par of 64. (The improvements reduced it from a 21 hole course that keeps a challenge and good flow to the round of play) Many of the flight lines have been cleared within reason to help keep the beauty of the course, maintain the challenge, and also keep the course healthy (you just don't cut trees down without a good reason). Along the course: erosion control barriers, walking paths, garbage cans, lime stone benches, and natural features have been built in using rocks/dead wood/etc. keep the natural elements and accentuate challenges. It's a nice, fairly private walk, and about two times around is about 1.5 miles. We had a lovely walk here and saw very lovely views of the creek. There are a variety of trails to select from and the park is dog friendly. Some of the landscape ranges from woody to meadow. Good Park for families with a low level of physical intensity. The views of the trail are nice and we enjoyed our visit. read more

That Troy H guy writes incredibly in depth reviews. But i love this golf course, and the empty soccer fields make a great driving range. All if you can throw the kiddie field goal to goal you're throwing about 300 feet. There's even a practice basket to putt to, or if you want to warm up there's a dirt tee pad between pad #1 and the soccer fields. Great field of play. Varying elevations, long walks better holes, and trees that have been there forever but just seem to jump in front of your disc. Lack of water does pose a problem but they can't make it rain. read more

After seeing the 'no dogs' sign at Slaughter Creek Trail (Seriously? You allow horses and mountain bikes but not dogs? How does that make any ecological sense?), I was desperately searching my google maps app for any green space nearby where me and my dog-friend would be welcome. Circle C Metro Park, with parking on Vinemount, fit the bill. The main trail is broad and well-groomed crushed gravel, and it looks like it would be very easy on the knees for joggers. The park seemed safe, with lots of people jogging or walking with children. It had a nice and friendly vibe. We'll be back for sure! read more

Love the kids playground area. It is our grandson's favorite park. We are from out of state, but visit a few times a year. Today's visit was very disappointing. We parked in the first lot past the playground, facing the large soccer field that had no organized activity today. Grandson's activity was down a trail from there so we were not in eyeshot of where we were parked. When we returned someone had defecated between our vehicle and the one next to us! At least they had tried to cover with napkins, but that didn't work well! Once we recovered from the shock of that and got our grandson in his car seat, we discovered that my passenger side front window had several points of small shatters and a crack that led all the way to top of window. Could not imagine how this happened. Thrown rock, rock from a mower, but there were many cars and one right next to us upon arrival and departure. Upon further inspection, it appears that someone used a tool that is specially used to break auto glass. Hit bottom left corner of the window near lock lift four times, but luckily, never penetrated. Hard to believe on Saturday morning that someone would be so bold and desperate! Beware when you are at this park. My pocketbook was laying on the floorboard, will certainly never do that again, but shouldn't have to be that concerned in such an open, populated area that is owned by the city! These times are getting more desperate and people are getting more bold and desperate. Beware! read more

Love this park. Lots of hiking and biking - shaded play area for the kids. Soccer fields, basketball, baseball - water creeks to play in. Really has everything. **If you're coming for the playground DO NOT WEAR SANDALS. The playground is not mulch - it's tiny rocks and you will need to wear sneakers or you'll have a hard time walking and you'll be uncomfortable. Not a good place for crocs for kids - sneakers all the way at this park. read more

The hiking was great and our dog enjoyed the walk. We walked half the trail because it was 100 degrees out. The rains washed away some of the trail but my daughter, hubby and dogs enjoyed it. Just wish they had water stations for the dogs. Great place! read more

I went to check out this park last weekend to play some disc golf. I have to say its a huge workout. The course is very challenging and I really like the scenery. The course is well kept and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend this park for anyone that likes disc golf. read more

Great shaded playscape for kids of all ages. Multiple playing fields for all sports, with ample space in between for kites, frisbees, etc. I haven't played the disc golf, but it looks fun! This is a nice park with some trails and a nice disc golf course. There are soccer fields further into the park which are really busy on weekends. There are Porta potties around the park, but there are also flush toilets near the rear soccer field, which are much appreciated. A nice little park for the area. read more
