We stopped here on a whim after a day at Mauch Chunk Lake. It's a quick 7 minute drive from the lake. We had wings, nachos and shrimp tacos. My wife had the best cocktail of her life she said. Everything was delicious. The staff were all so nice and the remodelers did an amazing job and the place looks great. Thank you so much!

Overcooked and barely any crab in the crab cakes.

My entire family went for 2 birthdays. It was really neat to see the inside. The food was awful. My husband and son were sick all night. Everyone in our large party ordered different dinners and each one was over cooked and awful. Completely over priced. For the prices you would expect a decent chef. Everything seemed pre-made and microwaved. Will never go back and would definitely recommend saving your money.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

The restaurant is tucked into the hand-built stone rowhouses, surrounded by vibrant colors, artwork, and even a few birds outside the windows. It caught my eye right away, and I'm glad it did. Note for diners: Moya is closed Monday-Wednesday, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. I visited on a very busy weekend in Jim Thorpe and managed to get seated around 4:30pm on Saturday without one, but the restaurant filled quickly and I think I got lucky. Inside, the space is eclectic and beautiful--rich colors on the walls, abstract art throughout (which I later learned is by the chef's wife, who co-owns the restaurant and has her studio in the same building). The atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable, and the quiet dining room was perfect for good conversation. Our total bill came to $95.90 before tip, and it was worth every penny. Moya's menu is designed for sharing, and that's exactly what we did. Drinks: Pineapple Cosmo ($13) - perfectly sweet without being over the top, even enjoyed by a bourbon drinker. Apple Brandy Sidecar ($14) - well-balanced and beautifully made. Plates we shared: Burrata ($18) - served warm on focaccia with an olive & herb tapenade. My first time trying burrata, and I loved it. The warmth was unexpected but wonderful, and the tapenade set it off perfectly. Fresh Gnocchi ($29) - with jumbo lump crab meat and fresh tomato cream sauce. The gnocchi were perfectly dense without being heavy, and the crab chunks were huge--bigger than the gnocchi themselves! So fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prosciutto Salad ($18) - spinach, dried figs, gorgonzola, spiced candied nuts, balsamic glaze. Generous prosciutto on top, and the dried figs added such a clever texture and depth. A lighter dish that paired beautifully with the richness of the burrata and gnocchi. What stood out most about Moya's food was its simplicity. No over-complication, no excess of ingredients--just perfectly chosen flavors that worked in harmony and allowed each element to shine. Every dish felt thoughtful and intentional. Service was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. The bathrooms were clean, the vibe inside was intimate, and everything about the evening felt special. No on-site parking, but there's plenty of street and community parking nearby, and Jim Thorpe is a lovely walking town. My suggestion? Spend the afternoon strolling through town, enjoy dinner at Moya, then take a romantic walk down to the train tracks and water afterward. Moya isn't an everyday dinner spot for me, but it's absolutely on my list for celebrating something special--or just celebrating each other.

The first thing that we noticed that was interesting was the eerie music playing. At first I thought it wasn't bad, but the longer we stayed the creepier the restaurant became. More people left and the unlit street outside was pretty creepy as well. Drinks were decent but service was surprisingly slow and seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday night which I thought was weird. Our appetizer was the melted mozzarella on focaccia with chimichurri and honey (too much of both). The bread was super soggy and cheese was half melted and wet as well. We decided to split the side of potatoes and the half chicken. Chicken was seasoned fine but the texture seemed almost raw. The potatoes presentation and taste were not great and there was not much flavor. Everything was wet in the worst way possible. We were in Jim Thorpe for the weekend and I booked this restaurant hoping for something special. It ended up being our least favorite meal unfortunately. But also our most expensive meal. We loved Notch Eight Craft and Marion Hose Bar.

The pub embraces the rich coal-region history that inspired its name, making it a perfect stop while exploring this beautiful mountain town. One of the highlights is their large covered outdoor deck, which is ideal for summer dining. Even better, they're prepared for every season--they can enclose the deck during rainy weather and have a heating system in place to keep guests comfortable during the colder months. The day we visited happened to be Trivia Day, which made for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to see why both locals and visitors enjoy spending time here. The pub has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that's perfect whether you're stopping in for a meal, drinks with friends, or just taking a break from exploring town. We started with the Tater Kegs--oversized tater tots stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives, served with zesty horseradish sauce and sour cream. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. A great appetizer to share. For entrées, I couldn't resist the Shepherd's Pie. Ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas are simmered in a rich gravy and topped with beautifully piped mashed potatoes baked until golden brown. It was hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Molly Maguire Burger loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and bacon. I added pepper jack cheese, and it was definitely the right choice. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. A special shoutout to our server, Abbey, who was outstanding from start to finish. Not only was she attentive with drink refills and checking on us throughout the meal, but she also took the time to recommend other sights and attractions around Jim Thorpe. Her friendly personality and local knowledge made our visit even more enjoyable. Between the delicious food, fun atmosphere, historic setting, and exceptional service, Molly Maguires delivered a memorable experience. If you're visiting Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and stop in. And if you're lucky enough to have Abbey as your server, you're in for an even better experience!

First and foremost, let me tell you - if you don't come early enough, you might not get a seat. You're going to need a reservation to have a meal here. Overheard people at the bar talking about how they make their reservations a week in advance to assure themselves a seat. As we ate three other couples were turned away as both dining room rooms were already reserved. Lucky for us we scored the last unreserved table. This is a small town, go to place for the locals. Don't be scared off - passers through are welcomed and treated just as though they belong. This is a no fuss, well intentioned establishment. No formal reservation book, but sticky notes on the table, holding the seats for those who planned ahead. Let me tell you about our food. As frequent diners out, Cousins ranks at the top of some of the best meals I've had. Seafood in particular is not always cooked correctly. I debated before I ordered, especially since this looked like such a small place. One can never be too cautious when it comes to seafood. A seafood combination that rivals any I've had anywhere else. Perfectly cooked, delicately seasoned, and more than enough any seafood connoisseur could ask for. His chopped steak was well over 2 inches thick and smothered in delicious gravy. Each meal comes with a trip to the salad bar, which is basic but fresh. Just, what is needed for a dinner side salad Let's talk about the staff... Welcoming. Friendly. Engaging. Attentive. Service that you just don't find that many places anymore. These women are happy to be there, and eager to serve - and if they weren't, they sure acted as if they were. All in all an amazing experience from something that I expected to be just okay. A lesson to not judge a book by its cover. We have definitely noted this place, along with its phone number so that we can be assured at a table next time we are in the area.
