This is "Cindy's Little Free Library" as noted in the LFL database. It is located near the Sexauer Park and Campground. The robin's egg blue color sure makes it hard to miss and it has a well done shingle rood. Inside, two shelves of books, some hardcovers and some paperbacks. It looks like mostly fiction but some romance in there too. Good reading though nothing that particularly caught my eye today. The box is light brown wood with a single door. Inside, a good collection of fiction on a single shelf. The library is located on a residential street so there is plenty of room to park and browse without worrying about traffic. Located across the street from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Homes, this Little Free Library is…read moreunrelated. And no, it does not necessarily contain any of the Little House books here. This is a larger sized library with white shingles and a slate roof. It has a window for a door and inside, two shelves loaded with books. The window is on a sash so you can only access the top or the bottom shelf at one time. Mostly fiction and paperbacks, so my three from home were welcomed into the mix as I reduce my own home library. The bottom shelf had a number of childrens books. This is charter number 127848. There is no steward listed but the online caption reads, "This little library sits across the street from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Society Headquarters in De Smet SD. Laura was a world known author of a series of books of her family's pioneer life. She lived in De Smet during her childhood. Fitting to have a LFL in her town." Several of the machines squeaked with belt problems so loud I couldn't even sit inside the building. They have switched to the card system for payment which as you can see by the instructions in my picture are a mess.!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
