I called Cindies at 11:45 to let them know I had needed to buy a pair of fishnet leggings for work . They were the only place only but I had to drive all the way from Carencro to Lafayette which was a 15 minute drive. I called ahead and discussed the situation with the associate and let her know that I would be on my way and she said the store closed at 12:00am. I said my GPS is giving me an arrival time of 12:02 . She said ok , she did not say anything about the store and that 12:02 was an unacceptable time to arrive . I actually ended up arriving to the store at 11:58 , to the doors locked and closed. I looked at her and waved and she just looked at me and said nothing . I then called the store and let her know I was the customer who called and that I arrived at 11:58 and it wasn't even 12:00 yet . She told me I could come back tomorrow at 10:00am when they open and they were closed and even though I made it before closing I was unable to Purchase my items .
Incident 2
The associate checked me out , and applied a 10% off discount to my order and asked if I was any of the following , an entertainer , teacher , or military personal , I told her I was a military dependent and offered to show my ID she said it was not necessary, I then went on to check out , I paid with my card she did not explain to me any type of return policy or anything . I walked to my car and opened the packaging and noticed the skirt was way too big. At this point it was 7:50 it had been less than 20 minutes . I called and asked if I could exchange the item and that I didn't realize all sales were final on the item I bought , had I known I would have tried it on in the store . She said well it's on your receipt which she placed in my bag not in my hand , and she said it was on a sign near the register which I did not read because I was having a conversation with her . I've worked retail since 2011 typically all return policies should be stated to the customer verbally at the time of check out to ensure the customer understands not just wondering if the customer read a sign at the counter or waiting until the customer leaves the store and goes home and removes the receipt from the bag .
Being that I have worked in retail so long I just feel like the customer service wasn't the best , I'm not one to email but honestly had the first incident not happened I wouldn't have bothered to write corporate about the second incident. With two bad experiences back to back with no understanding of the customers side I felt the need to reach out to corporate also , while shopping both times no sales associate/mananger approached me while shopping I had to speak to them first . There was one associate who was very knowledgeable and helpful and even demonstrated product my first time in the store that day , my second time returning to the store she was on a break which is why the associate probably checked me out . Also. I would like to mention I've shopped at Cindies a few times and the same associate who demonstrated product for me educated me on the rewards program and signed me up . I wish I remembered her name to give her credit she's really the only helpful employee I've encountered out of 4 visits. anyway I left went to Spencer's and returned to Cindies and decided to buy the items from there the helpful associate had left unfortunately and Marisse I believe , "my receipt said her name" checked me out and put my receipt in the bag and failed to verbally tell me about the return policy for "clothing" it was not underwear , either it was a skirt and top . So verbal communication would have been appreciated I would have just tried the item on in store obviously. I hadn't even worn it I literally was in the parking lot when I opened the box and saw how big the skirt was . No apology for not telling me about the return policy either . She said "well it's on your receipt" which I informed her she put in my bag not in my hand. And she also said , "there is a sign." So instead of making small talk with the associate during checkout process read signage at this store it's your job to educate yourself on store policies. I emailed the mananger and she didn't bother to respond . If she does I'll update my review with her feedback. read more
