They have three stores in Queensland (Chermside, Adelaide, and Gold Coast). Unfortunately, being shoved in a massive shopping centre, this one looses a bit of its charm. I can't help but be torn from the fantasy that this store normally creates by the screaming children, frantic Christmas shoppers and just the all to bright white light of Westfield. For a boutique store that oozes old school class and sophistication, this is not the ideal place in my opinion. Nonetheless, it still sells some amazing pieces of clothing, all very feminine, unique and beautifully crafted. Since Kitten D'Amour only create a small quantity of each design, it means that each shop stocks slightly different items. The prices are not cheap. A dress will set you back about $200-$300. But for the quality and unique look that you are getting these prices are more than fair. It just means I have to work a little harder to indulge in the stunning clothes available at this shop.

They also have a large selection of video games for older consoles. You should definitely avoid Gametraders if you have an addiction for Pop! Vinyl Figures, as they sell hundreds of them, in addition to merchandise for franchises including Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who and Star Wars. They also have a large selection of board games and card games, many of which you would not find at most toy and department stores. Gametraders also sells comic books, anime DVDs / Blu-ray's, a small selection of clothing and various video game / TV show props, which would be perfect for cosplay. You will often be able to find items that Gametraders are selling for less online, though they offer convenience and a unique retail experience, which EB Games is finally catching on to, with the launch of their new Zing Pop Culture stores.

Gamestraders has a very clever model based around letting you trade in your old games to help offset of that brand new $100 game YOU HAVE TO HAVE RIGHT NOW. Other game stores do this too, but Gamestraders seems to be a bit more generous with their refund. Don't get me wrong, they then turn around and sell your traded in game for heaps more than they paid you, and it's pure profit (they only have to pay the manufacturer for new games so selling second hand games is heaps more lucrative than selling new). There's a decent range, and parents and partners can feel slightly better about watching their loved one trade in that game that cost a fortune just a week ago (trust me, you never really go back and play a game once you've finished it).

They definitely have some cute stuff, and the prices are low. The staff do tend to be fairly unhelpful and the clothing is generally poor quality. I've bought items from Melrose Ave that have fallen apart after only a couple of wears, and yes it's cheap but not cheap enough to justify the lack of quality. Last time I went to Melrose Ave, I tried on a dress ($40) that was the last one in my size. After I'd tried it on I decided that I liked it and wanted to buy it, but as I was about to take it off and pay for it my friend pointed out a large stain on the back of the dress. Since this was the last dress in my size and I still really liked it, I took it to the counter to alert the staff to the stain with the assumption that they would offer me a discount. They made no attempt to offer me a discount so after double-checking that this was the last dress in this size, I decided to take a more straightforward approach and asked if they would be willing to give me a discount. They weren't. A few days later I returned to the shop and saw the dress hanging back on the rack in all its stained glory waiting for some poor girl to buy it (for full price, of course) without realising that there's a massive stain on the back. Experiences like this really turn you off a place, and even though Melrose Ave has some nice clothes I won't be shopping there again any time soon.

As I was in the change room trying in things the lady asks if I need a bigger size and this if fine but afterwards adding on saying. "Are you sure Hun it looks a bit tight" and I said. I'm sure I'm fine and she walks away saying umm ok very un surely as well. Although I loved the clothes hated the attitude of the employees. Overall it was a pretty awkward experience.
